Stanley was escorted by a nearby bedroom by Sierra, the maid chosen to escort him. She had blue hair that stood out compared to the other maids, potentially why she chosen for the task.

Entering the bedroom after the maid, Stanley once again became intimidated by the sheer size. Although the bedroom was smaller in comparison to Elisabeth’s room, it was far larger than room he’d stayed in back on Earth.

Honestly, Stanley thought he would have trouble sleeping in a room this big.

Sierra turned around after Stanley had followed her into the bedroom, gesturing toward a small side-room, “There is a bathroom through that door should you desire to wash up.”

Glancing toward the door, Stanley nodded while thanking the maid, “I appreciate it. Thank you for guiding me.”

Walking toward the bathroom and opening the door, the maid asked, “Do you desire help in washing up?”

Momentarily stunned by her question, Stanley quickly denied, “No. I think I can do that myself.”

“I see…” Sierra’s expression dimmed ever so slightly in his response to his denial, but she quickly hid it and inquired, “Do you have any other need or desires?”

“That-” Stanley felt a pang of hunger through his stomach, but elected against asking for food. “-No, I’m fine for now.”

Although Stanley was hungry, after the incident last time, he couldn’t bring himself to eat their food. He still had some leftover food in his bag that he could snack on for the time being.

“I shall leave you be then. If you desire anything, I will be in the room directly across the hall.” The maid Sierra professionally replied, before she bowed and left the room with slightly dimmed eyes.

Entering the bathroom, Stanley noticed something similar to a bathtub filled built into the stone floor. It took nearly ten minutes of searching until Stanley discovered that tapping on a small rune carved on into the stone by the door filled up the bath with water.

Once he discovered how to operating the bath, Stanley cleaned himself and enjoyed the sensation of relaxing in the bath. After finishing in the bath, he snacked on food leftover in his bag and slept the night.

Hours passed by and Stanley found himself awoken by the sound of birds.

He found the cries of birds strange considering there were no windows in the bedroom and the room seemed to be located far enough into the mansion that any bird noises couldn’t easily travel here.

Carefully listening to the birdcalls, Stanley discovered they began to repeat themselves after sometime and, once he got off the bed, the birdcalls abruptly stopped.

After the bird cries abrupt stop, Stanley finally realized why he found them so strange. It was some type of recording. Likely a recording made for the purpose of serving as an alarm clock.

Shaking his head to wake himself up, Stanley gathered up and organized his belongs. He didn’t plan on staying another night.

Assuming Elisabeth was cured, Stanley planned to enter the palace again to talk with Schrödinger. While Schrödinger had mentioned that he could be contracted through the system, Stanley felt that an in-person visit would be more appropriate for his purposes.

Stanley specifically had some questions regarding the teleportation beacons and whether a method existed to bypass them. Otherwise, with a dragon sleeping atop the current one, Stanley was troubled with how he could leave this place.

He needed to find another method to leave this place. If another way to leave truly didn’t exist, Stanley would have to drive off or kill the dragon atop the teleportation beacon.

While he remained confident in killing it, fighting the dragon of that size would almost certainly cause a substantial amount of the city. Unless there was no other option, Stanley would rather avoid that as causing significant damage to Elisabeth’s city would be rather awkward.

Knock… Knock.

“Yes?” Stanley called out in response to the knocks on the door. Without actually waiting for a response he opened the door, revealing Sierra in the typical skimpy outfit of the maids carrying a tray of food dishes.

“Breakfast~” Sierra said entering the room without permission and set the tray on a table inside the room.

“Ah… Thank you.” Stanley’s chest tightened slightly looked at the food, the dishes were all foreign to him. He didn’t quite trust them, but they released a wonderful aroma that made him want to try them…

Sierra leaned over the table pouring water from a mug into a glass and informed him, “Elisabeth awoke in the night. She wanted to thank you.”

As she leaned over the table to pour the water, her underwear was on full display forcing Stanley to avert his gaze.

To avoid looking at her body, Stanley focused on the food and the aroma filling the air. He internally debated to himself whether it was worth the risk of eating it.

Stanley hadn’t had delicious food in a tortuously long time. While he could cook food on a fire and collect some fruits in the wild, making food actual tasty required seasoning and other culinary tools.

With the smell reminding him of his hunger, his stomach rumbled aloud from hunger eliminating his primary excuse to evade eating. Staring at the food, Stanley deciding it was worth the risk.

Sitting down at the table, he carefully tried the various dishes. They all tasted delicious.

After he began eating, Sierra joined him. She sat at the opposite end of the table and began eating the various delicacies as well.

When Stanley realized she had joined him, he stared at Sierra in surprise.

Stanley definitely didn’t mind her joining him to eat, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was strange. The maids had never even touched the food they served him before.

“When did Elisabeth say that she wanted to thank me?” Stanley asked slightly curious about how Elisabeth was doing.

Sierra swallowed the food in her mouth and answered, “Anytime should work.”

Narrowing his eyes toward her, Stanley felt suspicious of her reply.

Her answer was too casual. How could she know that anytime would work? If she had been told that Stanley could go see Elisabeth anytime, why hadn’t she mentioned it earlier?

Stanley ate silently while staring blankly as he pondered the situation.

Unless the maid’s personality had completely changed overnight, the person sitting across from him wasn’t Sierra. In the brief time they’d met last night, he felt that Sierra carried out her work with a level of pride and professionalism.

The maid before showed no sign of any of that.

However, before accusing her, he wanted proof.

Attempting to test whether his suspicion was correct, Stanley probed the situation, “Right… I know you taught me last night, but how do you fill the bathtub with water again?”

Instead of providing a straight answer, the maid evaded the question and asked one of her own, “Did you plan on staying another night?”

“Depends.” Stanley replied vaguely. Although he doubted that he would stay another night, as he planned to leave, anything’s possible.

“If you plan on leaving, I would also like to thank you for saving Elisabeth. Shall we spend time together enjoying ourselves before she personally thanks you?” The maid invited in a seductive manner, twirling her hair between her fingers and straightening her back.

“I’m not sure that’s possible.” Stanley replied, growing more and more confident in his suspicions.

There’s only one doppelganger he knows that is this bold and outgoing. Additionally, Stanley couldn’t imagine any other doppelganger willing or able to deal with the consequences of imitating Elisabeth’s maid to seduce someone.

The woman sitting across from him crossed her arms and propped up her breasts, “I’m confident that it is.”

“…And I’m quite confident that it isn’t.” Stanley gestured toward her with the eating utensils and stated, “After all, even if I said yes, she would still be personally thanking me… Isn’t that right, Elisabeth.”

“How can you always be so stuck up?” The maid pouted in an over-exaggerated manner in response to his words.

Swiftly her form began to change, her blue-hair turned brown and her body shifted into the form of cat-kin Elisabeth.

Once her body had stopped changing, Elisabeth waved her tail in his direction and asked, “What gave me away?”

Stanley was speechless at the question. Her acting had been so bad, it was a better to question what didn’t give her away.

Deciding to comply, Stanley informed her of her biggest mistake, “Do you think maids normally sit down and join guests for breakfast?”

“They might.” She defended while crossing her arms, “How do you know that they don’t?”

“Even without that, it’s suspicious for the maids to refer to you through your first name. Normally, they refer to you as Misses.” Stanley said, taking a bite to eat.

Elisabeth stood up, while pressing her arms on the table, nearly knocking over the jug of water on the table and asserted, “I’ve heard them refer to me as Elisabeth before.”

Stanley smiled slightly in response. He was surprised to see her get this defensive.

“Then, do you think your maids would be rude enough to directly ignore a question and instead inquire about a guest’s personal plans?” Stanley pointed out, before taking a drink of water.

“That… probably not.” Elisabeth deflated comedically into her seat, before nibbling on a piece of bread and stating, “That didn’t necessarily mean I was Elisabeth.”

Stanley raised an eyebrow at her and questioned, “Would another doppelganger dare to impersonate one of your maids and attempt to seduce a guest?”

“Tsk… This is why I said your stuck up. Why couldn’t you just play along?” Elisabeth clicked her tongue. “Even if you figured it out, you could’ve just kept quiet so we could have some fun together.”

Stanley rolled his eyes. Her definition of fun greatly differed from his. “Well, I’m glad you’ve recovered at least.”

“Hmph, that cheating bastard… when I get chance, I’m going to strangle him.” Elisabeth responded with her eyes blazing with fury, before calming down, “…But, that’s for later. For now, I have more important tasks to accomplish.”

“Why do I feel your eyes drilling into me when you say more important tasks?” Stanley inquired poking at some meat dish with a fork, “One of those important tasks wouldn’t happen to be seducing me, right?”

“Of course it is. What else would be priority number one after you saved my life for a second time?” Elisabeth shamelessly replied before standing up and using her tail to showing off her underwear, “Do you like my maid outfits?”

Stanley closed his eyes to avoid the sight of her underwear. He learned his lesson from last time and he answered, “No, they’re way too short and revealing.”

“I shall remove it then.” Elisabeth replied immediately without any hesitation.

Stanley immediately changed his mind regarding the skimpy outfit and said, “On second thought, the outfit looks nice on you.”

Without missing a beat, Elisabeth asked, “Why are your eyes still closed then?”

“Because you keep showing off your underwear.” Stanley replied slightly annoyed.

“I can fix that.” Elisabeth replied in a mischievous manner.

Stanley realized his error when he heard her tone of voice and pleaded, “Please don’t remove your underwear.”

Taking advantage of his new mistake, Elisabeth teased him, “My… you’re quite perverted aren’t you. I was only going to cover myself up with some clothes.”

Stanley felt his headache return, he had thought he was finally getting the hang of interacting with her.

As it turns out, he was completely wrong.
