Part 1

“How was your day Ali?” The Oracle smiled as she looked towards the golem who had just woken up from his slumber.

Observing his surroundings he realized he had been moved to the room he was at yesterday.

As he shifted his attention towards the lady who was wearing a neat black uniform he remembered her having taken him in after he had gotten lost in the western desert.

The golem thought real hard on his answer as he began to speak it in an incoherent way. “Hmm… Ali… had fun.”

Giving a warm smile the lady then asked him another question, “Can you tell me what you did today?”

Staring at the fully black eyes of the lady in front of him, he remembered the other people like her with similar eyes that were all colored fully black.

It was a distinct racial feature for the people he was living with. In Nezkaria this race of people was known as the Azedians.

He remembered the fat man and the muscular person who had guided him around the underground tunnels. Beside their black eyes, they had long eyelash and tough skin that were uniquely compatible with the earth and sand.

“Today was fun… Fatty and blockhead were funny. I like them.” Ali gave a large smile as the sands making up his face moved about to form a big gap that looked like a smile.

Though it looked creepy at first, his huge smile gave an innocent look which made the Lady feel the urge to spoil him.

“Amir and Kasem are interesting people. They were quite surprised that you dozed off in the middle of their conversation.” The Oracle replied with a laugh, but shortly after she looked a bit displeased.

“Ali, where did you learn the word fatty and block head from? Was it from the person you had told me before?”

“Yes! From mother!” Ali’s eyes sparkled as he talked about the mysterious person who he calls mother.

With a confident voice, he began to explain his knowledge. “She said that any man big and funny can be called fatty, and anyone strong and silly should be called blockhead!”

The Oracle could only give wryly smile as she listened to the golem. She knew that this ‘Mother’ of his was someone from the past, but she could not help but wonder why most of the things she taught him were all strange.

“What else did you see?” The Oracle asked the golem as she observed him.

“Umm… we went to a boring place and met a bookworm.” Ali replied innocently.

The golem scratched his head trying hard to remember anything else but because of the uninteresting environment of the memory, he could not remember much.

“Ah! Fatty and the bookworm looked really close… I want to have someone like that!” The golem spoke out his last thoughts he could muster up.

The Oracle couldn’t help but wonder what this mysterious person was doing brainwashing him to use such silly nicknames for groups of people. However, it was interesting to hear that the golem in front of her could feel envious of others.

“Saleh and Amir are good friends. Though Amir hates to work he does willingly help his friend even though I keep hearing from Saleh that he complains a lot.”

After listening to the Golem account of the day, she then observed the air around him. As an Oracle, she was able to perceive the world in a very unique way.

As she concentrated her vision towards Ali various symbols began to appear and with them, it formed a picture in her mind.

Well… that’s what should’ve happened, but instead, she was unable to formulate any vision from her mind on anything related to Ali.

Eterna had gifted the Oracles with the sight to see the possible futures as well as the ability to see the past. Though using their gift cost them some of their lifespan it was nevertheless a valuable ability. Only a handful of people were lucky to be born with it.

The Oracle looked at the golem who seemed to have been cut free from the fate of Eterna and could only feel pity for him.

If she was not wrong she believed that this little Golem had struck a deal with the mischievous time imps in order to change a definite future he was about to experience.

She knew that those pesky imps would always try to make a deal for the sake of their fun. Glancing at the carefree golem the oracle assumed that they had taken bits of his memories.

“Ali can you tell me more about this mother of yours?”

Hearing the question Ali began to ponder for a long time. There were many things he wanted to say but somehow it just got stuck in his head.

“Umm… she is very beautiful… and kind.” Ali answered instinctively but as soon as he remembered something he quickly added with a wink, “Oh! But you are also very beautiful.”

Hearing the flattering word and the cute action of the silly golem in front of her made her feel embarrassed as her face quickly turned red.

“Was that what your mother told you to say?” suspicious by the sudden flattering she could only guess the reasoning behind it.

“Yeah! Mother had always told me to treat every lady with the utmost respect and to always compliment them to make them happy.”

“I can’t believe she taught you that, and I can’t believe you remembered that.” The Oracle giggled at the golem’s response. “I wonder what memories you are missing…”

“Memories? Mother told me to remove the ones that aren’t important… she told me ladies would like me more if I’m dense.”

With her jaws open she could not believe what she had heard. This mother of his is truly one of a kind.

Remembering the previous actions of the golem the Oracle could not help but question whether it had any right to be called ‘important' memories. However, reluctantly, she had to agree that most of the females in their team did like his denseness.

“Your mother removed your memories?” The Oracle asked curiously.

The golem looked at the Oracle and took his time trying to remember. As he tried to search for the memories he couldn’t help but expressed a sense of sorrow on his face.

“No… I… asked… something out there…” The golem tried his best to think but slowly became unstable as his thoughts began to manifest into his appearance.

The golem spoke incoherently as his body changed shape uncontrollably to express his words. “I-I didn’t want to… but, mother… m-mother told me to go…”

The golem couldn’t help but cry out in pain as he tried to remember. His whimpering surprised the Oracle as she tried to stop him from remembering.

Staring at the rickety golem who was controlling the sands in his body into countless shapes, the Oracle realized her mistakes as she looked towards the pained expression of the golem.

“Ali! It’s okay, you don’t need to remember any more!” she spoke out in hopes to stop his mayhem.

However, her words had no effect as the golem unstable changes burst continuously until he was exhausted of his energy.

The bits of pieces of sands that were shot out from his body were scattered everywhere.

And In front of the Oracle was a golem who seemed to have his heart broken as he slowly tried to piece back every part of his body that exploded away from him.

Looking at the pitiful golem the Oracle began to help collect the parts of his body.

“I’m sorry.” Ali quietly spoke out with a fragile voice.

Hearing the voice really broke her heart as she hugged the golem in order to comfort him.

Part 2

After weeks of staying in the underground place, Ali had gotten quite close with Amir and Kasem, who had volunteered to help the golem around the work area.

“Listen to this Ali, during one of our excavation, we were exploring an unknown route which had led us to a grand tomb.”

“Great Rukh! You’re going to tell him that?” Kasem glared at his friend trying to dissuade him from continuing.

Bemused by his friend’s reaction Amir continued on, “Well during our exploration we were all nervous because one of our friends had scared us by telling horror stories during the investigation.”

“That guy was merciless when it came to scary stories,” Kasem stated as he shivered remembering some of the tales that he remembered.

“Well, Kasem here was the most scared one out of all of us. He had tried to act tough but you should’ve seen it! Every time step he made he hiccupped.”

“So throughout the whole investigation we kept hearing his hiccup in the back and whenever we looked towards him he would pretend to look back as well.”

“It was hilarious since none of us pointed it out. To save him face we even agreed that it must’ve been some ghost trying to scare us.” Amir looked towards his friend who was red from embarrassment.

“In contrast to his strong appearance, he is actually a scaredy cat.” Amir laughed as he teased his friend.

“Cute blockhead!” Ali commented as he pats Kasem’s head.

Being teased made Kasem quite irritated as he tried to retort with his own story, “At least it wasn’t as worse as you.”

“Hmm?” Amir looked at his frenzied friend.

“Ali, listen to me. This fatso here is the epitome of shamelessness.”

“One time during our expedition towards an underground castle, this moron had the urge to take a dump.”

Understanding where Kasem was going towards Amir could not help but retort, “Hey there’s nothing wrong with that!”

“There’s a time and certainly place for it though!” Kasem snapped back.

“Listen to this Ali, this guy had the audacity to take a shit at a room on the temple we were working hard to investigate.” Kasem pointed towards the guilty culprit, “Who in Eterna would ever do that!”

“Didn’t we identify that room as the royal bathroom!? There shouldn’t be anything wrong with using it right? Wasn’t that what toilets were created for!?” Amir tried to justify himself but the two of them looked at him in disgust.

“Wow… fatty… is… very shameless…” Ali looked towards Amir as he slowly moved away from him.

“The stories not even done yet.” Kasem laughed at Ali’s response. “When me and Saleh came searching for him we had to witness him doing strange poses as he took his dump.”

“And you know what he told us as he tried to explain his action?” Kasem laughed as he remembered his friend’s words.

Mimicking Amir’s voice that sounded like he had something stuck in his throat Kasem recalled the words. “I was trying to impersonate how royal people took their dump.”

“How shameless do you think someone had to be to do all that?” Kasem laughed out nudging his friend who was as red as a tomato.

“How… vulgar…” A cold voice appeared behind the two. In front of them, Ali could be seen waving his hand to say hello the person.

Scared out of their wits Amir and Kasem slowly turned their heads and saw the Oracle behind them.

Not wanting to waste any time in their excuses the Oracle proceeded to what she came for.

“Ali follow me we need to discuss something together.” She smiled warmly at the ditzy golem.

She then looked towards the two with an expression of disgust. “You two follow as well.”

Hearing the coldness of her voice the two felt like their world was about to collapse, they had the urge to explain themselves but it was then that Ali made it even worse.

They had considered him a good friend, but looking at him add fire to the fuel as they heard him innocently tattle telling the dark secrets they shared together to the Oracle, they could not help but feel the urge to violently beat up their good friend.
