After 5 more cycles The Cub finally got a hang of moving the black objects and could now move them much easier and to The Cub’s will. After doing so The Cub remembered about the second object that moved a lot on the creatures which was the object at front that the smaller creature used to destroy the small green plants. As The Cub thought of this its vision suddenly shook and surprised The Cub greatly. The Cub then noticed it could see a different part of the objects on the other side of the transparent layer.
But The Cub also realised that the black layer was coming back but it was confused. The light was at its brightest, why would the black layer come now? Nevertheless The Cub could do nothing about the impending darkness from the black layer blocking The Cub’s vision. For some reason though, the black layer suddenly disappeared and The Cub could see again. The Cub was overjoyed that it could get back to what it was doing, but it then came to a startling realisation. The light was dark and getting brighter again! Had an entire cycle happened in just that short moment? The Cub pondered this until the light reached its maximum brightness. Eventually it decided that there was nothing it could do about this and decided to think about the movement of that frontal object again.
As The Cub did its vision shook again but it was not surprised this time as it knew this happened last time it tried this. The Cub decided to practice directing these shakes so that it could see more. But The Cub noticed that the black layer kept appearing early and then disappearing suddenly. It felt slightly annoyed that so much of the brightness of the light was being wasted but it came to understand this was something it had to deal with during this time of learning.
After a few short cycles it came to realise that there seemed to be a limit in how far it could move to the right and to the left. So next it decided to move up but every time it tried it never seemed to make any lasting progress. After 12 more short cycles The Cub became extremely annoyed yet at the same time only became more determined to make some lasting progress. After another 14 even shorter cycles the cub finally made some lasting progress but also then felt the same strain it felt when it reached the limit on the other directions. But something about this direction felt different. It felt like the same force that kept The Cub from having any lasting progress was not applying to some other part of it.
The Cub decided to try to keep doing what it was doing before but then decided that wasn’t going to work after it felt some pain when it tried. This pain was a new and alarming sensation that The Cub was certain it wanted nothing to do with. The Cub stayed where it was in contemplation for another 2 cycles. After that time it thought about the objects it learned to move before and decided to try to move those along with its vision.
When it attempted this The Cub succeeded! But then it got another result that surprised it. The force that kept it from looking up suddenly caused it to keep going up but for some reason up became down now. The Cub then felt an impact across its entire body, including parts that it hadn’t discovered yet. This impact caused a large amount of pain which stunned The Cub for a short time, but when The Cub came back to it couldn't help but think about those parts of it that it didn't know about before.
The Cub spent the next 40 very short cycles finding and figuring out how to control all of those parts. While doing so The Cub also decided to name each of the parts of itself. It named the front part with its vision its head. It also named the part that opens and closes on the head, that the small creature used to destroy the small green plants, a mouth. It then named the 4 objects used to propel itself legs. Then it named the main mass that holds all of the parts, the body. And lastly a new leg like object that it found at the opposite end of the head is called the tail. When The Cub was naming all of these things it always had an inexplicable feeling that this is what these parts are called so it just went with this feeling.
While The Cub was learning about all of these parts it managed to lift its body up on its legs and realise that its entirely isolated inside a medium sized transparent object. After it was accustomed to moving its body it decided to finally look around at all of the things it couldn’t see before it started to move. The Cub first moved to look at the section it had always stared at and noticed that there seemed to have very little change except the small green plants getting taller. Next it decided to start from the left and look all the way around.
As The Cub was turning to the left it noticed there was little to no change in the look it looked almost the same but with the larger plants just at different locations. When The Cub reached the point where it was almost entirely at the opposite side from where it started it noticed one new object. The Cub observed it and determined it didn't move like a creature and didn't move like a plant, or even move at all. The Cub was unsure if it was really a plant like the body of the larger plants or not, so it decided to just keep this new object as an object. This new object was very very large and gray with some small plants growing on top of it. The Cub soon noticed while observing it that it was not the only one of it around there was actually a large number of them near it.
The Cub then realised that some of these new objects are the same shape as the transparent layer around it. The Cub figured that this meant there may be more like it inside these new objects! The Cub was very excited at this prospect as maybe they could help him understand what everything is. But then it came to the realisation that it didn’t know how to leave let alone let the other like it out. It couldn't help but become slightly dispirited about this but it soon got over it and decided that it could consider this some other time. After it got over this The Cub looked back at these new objects and noticed there was a large opening similar to a mouth inside one of these new objects and The Cub became very curious as to if that was something like it escaping the confines of the transparent layer.
