“Yo Warspite did you see him limp away like that? How pathetic” Warspite looking after the long gone commander pressed her gaze towards the trail he left. “I do feel bad however there is nothing i can do about it right now”

After not getting a response the large man beside her came over and placed his arm around her neck adjusting it before resting it above her breasts. “What a loser, i feel sorry for you to have to of had to deal with a beta like that”

Moving away from his embrace before looking him sharply in the eyes, She bellowed a response “I'm going home for now i'll talk to you later.” The guy not expecting this barked out in an angry tone.

“Hey I thought we  were going to have some fun tonight, that's why we were going to meet in the cafeteria right? Did that cherry boy put you out of the mood?” Warspite didn't respond but instead made her way down the hall towards the commanders dorm.

“That was more cruel than usual, making him have another public moral breaking incident maybe i should-” the girl shook her hair making the golden blonde hair braids hit each other making a distinct sound.

The closer she got to the commanders dorm the more intense and vile the scent became. It went into her nose and tickled at her nerves, all the while burning her senses with a deep intense disdain.

“What is that? Mixed in with the smell of the commanders vomit and tears there's another scent here” finally a hall way down she was finally in front of his door.

Taking in a deep breath the first thing that hit the young girls nose was a pungent distinct bile smell. Putting it aside however, harbored something else that far more concerned her.

“Yes that's it, a sweet and flowery  like fragrance still lingering in the air, which means” she momentarily stopped before bending down and smelling the doorknob. “Commander had a girl over” taking it in again caused the same conclusion to be formed.

“Cherry and flowers, who ever had this on, were trying to impress the commander or get his attention.”

Backing away from his door she thought about the possibilities. “I wanted to wait a little more before culminating everything but it seems like some vixen may be trying to tempt him”

Making herself presentable she went to take the door knob again,

“Come to think of it maybe that's why he was at the cafeteria today for once? A girl that is trying to make the commander change? All my work will be for naught if she continues to worm her way into his brain”

*Knock* a subtle knocking sound breathed life into the commander's ears, who was huddled in a corner of his room with a blanket covering everything but his head.

*Knock* *knock* this time it came again in a pair of two. Still ignoring the sound of urgency he turned his back towards the door. "No, leave me alone please, just let me die please just leave let me be!"

To a spectator his ramblings were that of a patient being treated for paranoia however to the commander, every little escape of his voice and intake of fresh air belted itself against him punishing him into a mental prison.

"Just go away go away please no more" the door was locked, however it seemed the person trying to gain entry didn't care and simply knocked with more force before speaking up.

"Commander it's me open up" the voice which drifted past his self proclaimed barrier landed in his conscious mind alert of its presence.

"No not again go away I'm sorry please just leave me alone" the girl not backing down just pushed with more force in her voice.

"Just open up please I have something to tell you" the girl in which he had come to hate once again burrowed itself into his psyche.

"You even sound like her, that's just not right, I know you're the same model but…" the rest of the commanders' words were garbled and made into weird sounds. The girl outside his door now out of options continued to try and pry into his room.

"I'm sorry for earlier ok commander? It's not what you think I swear!" Her words which were sincere still were hiding something in the tone they were given.

"You lied to me! You said he didn't mean anything to you!" The person on the other end seemed to go quiet. "I'm sorry alright, i-" the commander furious at the easy apology went to say something before ultimately settling back down.

"Go away" the shuffling of feet could be heard outside his door before a response was made.

"Please just let me in i know what happened to the other Warspite"

The word which fumbled around in the commander's brain screamed at his person. Reluctantly getting up and somewhat quickly making his way towards the door breathed a sign of peril.

"Is it really wise to open it? What if he's there?" Hesitating he placed his hand on the doorknob before sucking in his gut. "I mean what if I get humiliated again?"

"Are you opening it or not?!" The voice on the other end bellowed out in an angry tone. Slowly unlocking and opening the door the commander peeked behind it.

There sitting in the dimly lit hallway stood a girl with blonde hair and black and white haired braids her amethyst eyes bore there way into his mind. "Finally commander what took yo-" the commander cutting off the girl stopped her advancement into his room.

"Tell me what happened to her" the commander's face albeit covered in a disgusting layer of tears and snot held a very stern appearance. "Right well commander you need to let me-" "no" the commander not giving up his post insisted on the news being delivered at his door.

"You told me you know what happened with her. You obviously know the specifics of the situation if you're going to use it as a trump card for me opening the door" the girl in front of him seemed more annoyed than shocked.

"Commander I understand your mad but I had no part in what happened at the cafeteria" the commander simply shut his door a little bit in response. "tell me now or I'm shutting it all the way" visually at a loss for words the girl only became more angry.

"I told you, you need to let me in!" "I don't let sluts in, why did you never even bother to tell me he was your commander? I thought you were just teasing me because of your personality but it seems you were just showing me your true whore self"

the commander's words laced with venom was pushed aside by the girl who instead insisted on coming in.

"JUST LET ME IN COMMANDER!" Full on screaming now the girl tried to have the commander let her in. However the commander, a little surprised by the outburst, held his ground before closing the door to the point where a small gap remained.

"I'm done talking to you, all you did was lie to me why would I believe you?" The girl who seemed to want to bounce back with a response instead was cut off by the commander.

"I don't want to hear it, just go back to doing what you do best, being an innocent slut" slamming the door in the girls face the commander after locking it slumped down onto the ground.

After a couple minutes footsteps soon followed getting farther and farther away. Glancing over his trashed and indisputably dirty room,

He cast his view on the sole window of the small dorm, outside the waves crashed up against the dock and seagulls flew past his window without a care in the world.

"Yes that's what I need, what I want" lifting his hand into the air  he balled it up hovering right above the window. "To be free of all this, to be free of this place" as if on cue the wind blew into the room rustling his hair and delivering a single leaf.

The commander picked himself up before approaching the window with the leaf. Twirling it in his fingers he held it outside the window before letting it go watching it dance in the wind before being engulfed by the ocean tide.

"To be free what does it mean to be truly free?" Closing the window he gave one last look towards the sun washed scenery before closing the curtains.

"And what would it mean for me to be free? If they were still alive would I be able to leave it all behind?" Finishing his monologue the commander looked at his messy bed, Before falling into his covers once again.

"Is there such a thing as true freedom? Or is our very existence a testament to what we've experienced in the past?"

Grabbing his head he started banging it lightly on the wall. "This is exactly why I can't just move on, why do I always dwell on things?"

Giving up the commander slumped himself out from his own unmoving form and made his way to the shower.

"Maybe a long shower will quiet my head down"

The next day the commander cleaned all his dirty dishes and the area around the small sink in the dorm out neatly arranging everything before tidying up the rest of the trash.

Looking around at his progress he internally groaned. “There's still so much to do. I wonder if i will be able to make it out to the store in time to see the sunset” putting his plans in order out loud helped the commander visualize his goals.

“Lets see whats next”  he contemplated his next chore before glancing over towards the dirty bathroom. Slowly cleaning up the long overdue rusted water stains off the sink and shower he carefully arranged everything to a near almost pristine and never used state.

After all, the commander was not someone without tact. He was aware of his choices and always wanted to be able to have a choice of his own outcome.

Finishing up his assault on the bathroom he took a breather before sitting down. Looking around his clean naval dorm gave off an eerie feeling.

“So weird to see it clean, maybe it was for the better to leave it messy?” vouching for his own laziness he picked himself back up before getting ready to go out.

Putting on a long forgotten military cap he donned himself with a formal jacket before picking up as many garbage bags as possible to throw away. Taking one last look in the mirror sent a nostalgic feeling to feed into his emotions.

“I haven't been able to wear this since they stripped me of my rank, however now that i'm no different from a normal citizen i can say i felt like wearing it and can get off without any long arduous talks from any superiors”

Dropping off his trash first at the designated dumpster for his sector of dorms, He headed into town on a mission.

In the past the commander only came into town for the small supermarket that bordered the sea which was a popular spot to spend time at to unwind.

Well for him it was at least, the crashing waves which were furious and served as a testament to the mistake of a watery grave on the battlefield now served as a calming reminder of the peace that was hard fought for.

Hanging his head down and trying not to make eye contact with most of the people around made him stand out a little more slightly. Although nobody seemed to care and carried on with their lives.

Arriving in front of an all purpose store he deftly made his way in trying to again keep a low profile which only made everyone notice him before slipping back into their normal routines.

“Wow it's a lot busier here then i thought at this time of the day” voicing this out loud made the commander lose track of what he was getting before coming face to face with his target.

Multiple types and styles of fibrous ropes dotted the isle.

To any normal person the abnormally large selection of strings and fibrous ropes on display would make any sane person wonder why the town is so obsessed, however in the commanders case he simply wandered how easy it would be to buy a potential key to freedom.

“How ironic” the commander thought out loud before picking up a long unified strand of military para cord. Testing the strength of it with his arm he made his selection ending up with a mixture of black and dark blue.

Two of his favorite colors, plopping his selection down at the counter and taking out payment seemed to have caused the commander to be extra jumpy.

The shop clerk however, didn't even seem to look the commander in the eye instead bowing to his hat instead before giving him his receipt and bag of para cord.

Once outside he took off his hat before taking a long look at the setting sun before him. “Just on time, perfect”

A chilly autumn wind caressed his side as he made his way down to a local food stand.  Getting his favorite off the menu he sat down at a bench overlooking the water enjoying his meal and sunset at the same time.

Taking in the warm radiance before him his skin absorbed the sensation spreading it up into his head like needles of comfort, it didn't last long though since the commander took longer at the food cart than anticipated.

He could of sat at the bench in front of the food cart however that would defeat the whole purpose of his plan. No he had to sit on the bench they had their first date. Enjoying the same view they once had for the first time in years felt bittersweet.

“Enterprise are you well?” it was a stupid question and he knew it however not bringing up the purpose of the excursion would drive him mad he thought.

As the radiant warmth finally dissipated and was replaced with a cold purplish descending darkness he stood up discarding his half eaten meal in a nearby bin and spoke for the first time in hours.

“The trees buckle to the wind, the leaves are carried with the breeze and waves although a massive equal body of  water, are effortlessly pulled by the moon's gravity, such is the fate of living” it was a bitter and hopeless outlook shaped by his life until now.

Clearing his clothing of any remnants of his dinner he slowly made his way back to the suffocating cramped small naval dorm he resided in. the bag at his side bumping flying between his hips, finally returning towards the god forsaken room he inserted the key only to notice something weird.

It was already unlocked, especially since the only key for the room was in his possession. Chalking it up to his mistake of not properly locking the door he slipped inside being careful to be able to react to a possible intruder.

Striking on the light illuminated everything before him making the commander relax, his room was empty.

Throwing the bag on the neatly made bed before him he changed out of his uniform before neatly laying it out on the bed.

The thought of his door being unlocked still lingering in his mind he went to lock it before proceeding.

Finally getting to his newly acquired hardware he made one knot around the base of one of the support beams in his room checking for the required tightness of both the beam and para cord.

Satisfied with the groundwork piece of cord hanging down from the beam. He sat down before opening his window and giving one last look at the port in front of him. “This place is nothing but a bitter broken memory now”

leaving the window open but closing the shades the commander started to tie the blue piece of para cord around the black, double knotting it and checking its tightness before adjusting it to fit around his neck.

Finally having prepared he leaned against his bed one last final time. The image of the leaf being let go in his hand the day before and floating on the wind before being swallowed by the sea raced through his mind.

“The price of freedom and floating independence is the biggest fee of them all'' he took in a giant breath of air before finishing his thought “Deliverance” taking the key to his dorm out of his pocket he glossed over his choices again before setting his sights on the sink and faucet.

“I guess i wont be needing this anymore will i?” rubbing the key in his hands tenderly refreshed the memory of its acquisition. “Haha i thought at first this was the side of a raw deal but we quickly made it our own didn't we?”

Rubbing the key one last time he dangled it over the sink drain before dropping it in making a distinct *plonk* sound. Before setting back his sights on the prepared ends of his makeshift rope hug, he reminisced more going back to his childhood.

“What's your name?” he remembered her figure to a T. long golden blonde hair and cute white and black hair braids getting caught in the wind. “Its Warspite nice to meet you, i was actually built here 20 years ago so forgive me for my wisdom cube is quite old”

The boy simply just belated what was on his mind from the beginning with red cheeks. “You're really pretty mame” the little boy said, trying to hide his embarrassment.

The girl bent down slightly placing her hand on the boys head rubbing it before lifting it up and observing it. “What's the matter, miss Warspite, I don't have lice!” the girl only smiled before rubbing her hand and placing it in her pocket.

“I see you're playing with those warships. Do you want to be a commander that bad?” the girl asked in a questioning tone.

“No, not really my dad is, I just play with the toys he brings home” with this answer the girl simply smiles before saying her goodbye and heading back to her current designated building.

Walking she met with an admiral who directed her towards a room and another commander took over from him bringing her to her current consignment.

“Miss Warspite here's your lodging and key” without another word the man left leaving her in her own presence.

“That was refreshing to say the least, that little boy was unlike any of the stiff and strict superiors i have met and taken orders from so far, of course he was the first child i have seen in awhile”

She brought her hand up to her nose smelling it slightly before going back in with more passion. “And this smell, it's definitely him”

It was one of the commander's safe guarded memories, meeting such a cute girl at his age.

what followed next was the inevitably of it all the scene he had witnessed and the futility of his small body.

Eventually it came to the point that the commander had grown to be a young man and had regularly seen and talked to Warspite quite frequently and since, developed a small crush on her. Other officers noticed this as well teasing her and him about it from time to time.

Then the news came, the commander's father went missing in action and later a coffin less funeral was carried out. That was the day the young commander found out a unique fact. The warship Warspite had been under command of his father for the last 17 years.

The lecherous faces of the admirals and commanders at the funeral were too easy to spot leering at the small lengthy girl trying to dodge their stares.

And right after the funeral, Warspite was called to a “private” meeting with the admirals the commanders father served under to decide who she was to be appointed to since the war was still not over.

Gripping the sides of his sink he tried to toss out the upcoming memory out of his head many times over and over only to have it surface with a vengeance out of nowhere later on. That day at his father's funeral he was finally going to work up the courage to confess to the girl he had fallen for since he was a child.

And given he was a military man's son he had a key to most things, the staff room being one of these. After arriving in front of the staff meeting room he found his hidden courage inside him and at first waited for her to come out but then grew impatient, unlocking the door and pushing it open to his newfound nightmare.

As the commanders young adult eyes shot open in unnerving horror, the commanders and admirals who served with  and above his dad had Warspite bound tightly with chains and handcuffs. Inadvertently having their way with her every which way possible.

Then as soon as the commander thought it couldn't get worse his eyes locked in on hers. Warspites darkened grayed over eyes sinking into the depths of the commander's very existence.

The men who already noticed him at the door beforehand, Only laughed as they saw the commanders defeated expression.

Violating Warspites' tiny body even harder, switching people and positions as many as 30 times before the commander's legs became rigid enough to stand up and walk away to process what just happened.

The girl who he liked was being used and abused sexually by all those old men and he could do nothing but watch as her eyes bore into his asking for help and yet, he could do nothing.

Breathing heavily like he had just run a marathon the commander supported himself on his newly cleaned sink before getting up and not continuing the past memory. “I couldn't do anything for that Warspite then and I can't do anything now.

Tears began to fall as he finished his memory of the situation that still haunted him.

“Shortly after that they say they found her bodied in a nearby docking bay mangled and badly bruised, reeking of a vile stench the situation was at first a major deal considering she was a warship but was later put to rest when some officials got in on the case and it was slowly dropped.

A few of the men who saw me enter and leave also threatened me saying if i want to have a future there to keep quiet. I'm sure they had a hand in my father's death” he paused for a moment catching his breath.

"That very day I decided to become a commander and be the change I could never do, partly because of my father's life being snuffed out without my control and partly because of Warspite my first crush of my life.

Attending that very first boring orientation and board meeting was when I met her for the first time. “Hi, my name is Enterprise, how can i help you?”

She reminded me of Warspite so much in her elegance and style it made me tear up instantly becoming the only commander in the room to stain Enterprises clothes and cause a scene"

Gripping the sink behind him once again he thought of the most recent breakdown of his in the recent years.

“Yes it had to be then, when i almost shot myself and Enterprise finally broke down the door only to tell me the gun was loaded with blank rounds” smiling halfly the commander went to sit on his bed.

"It was really embarrassing to tell her and the staff I had tried to off myself after a really bad episode of me reliving the trauma of the Warspite situation. At first i felt anger but the more down the line it all faded away the more i just felt empty.

Most of those men either retired or did something else and got found out and discharged" It was a long and broken apart memory and occurrence however the commander wanted to remember it before going through with his plan tonight.

“I couldn't look at other Warspites for a long time after that, too really embarrassing to think about” smacking himself on the face to stop his mind from drifting on again he hardened himself before approaching the para cord loop.

Placing the cord around his neck he used his other arm to tighten it to the perfect position for his neck.

"I guess this is it, you would be disappointed in me for what I'm about to do however" the commander slowly traced his pocket with his free hand and pulled out two pictures. "You guys are so much more stronger than I ever was"

Crumpling the two pictures in his hand he navigated them back into his pocket once more. Preparing himself the commander worked up the resolve to kick the chair from underneath him.

Eyeing everything over again in the room he finally closed his eyes and gritted his teeth "ok here it is this time just one big push ok one swift motion I can do this"

The commander trying to work up the courage to take his own life whimpered out. Bracing himself he put one foot up in the air before swing downwards with enough force to knock a door down. However, the chair did not budge, not even a little.

The commander who had been trained to be able to traverse multiple terrain types explore hazardous areas such as burning buildings radiated zones and the such relied on his forceful kick to a point of codependency.

Of course that was if it connected with its target. Training that normally the navy would have nothing to do with however the commander was a part of multiple relief missions.

The foot which was now free falling in the air hit the side of the chair on rebound and settled next to its brother once again.

"DAMN IT! All these years of following orders and being a good little puppet for everyone and I can't do this one thing for myself? Of all the times you had to fail me leg!" the commander missed the chair by a wide margin.

He could not work up the courage to take his own life, the one thing he wanted to do for himself he was powerless to achieve. He squinted his eyes trying to prevent himself from crying, while his mouth tightened and his throat closed up.

"Please just let me do this, please just this one thing, Am I that useless that i can't even take my own life?" Talking into the air harbored no response but instead relayed back onto him how pathetic he really was.

Working up the courage for another attempt he again straightened himself out making sure the cord was still securely wrapped around his neck.

"Ok this it I know I can do this I'm different when those things happened I'm stronger more resilient"

Noticing what he had said the commander couldn't help but slump down again. "What am I saying? I couldn't help Warspite my childhood crush back then, and I was powerless to help enterprise my first love,  getting used and abused then as well"

The commander sighed for the first time since his pier visit. "And I'm so useless now that I cant even take my own life i really am worthles-" *ding ding* a buzzing sound interrupted the commanders pity party surprising him.

Not sure what to do the commander stood awkwardly where he was before calling to the visitor in a rough gruff tone. "Can I help you" silence echoed in the small room before being displaced by a small feminine tone.

“Commander its me Warspite i have something to…” the visitor didn't finish their sentence and instead the commander jolted from the sudden insistent knocking bearing down on the other side of his door.

The commander who was now fighting the chair in a battle of balance was trying to regain his composure from the sudden knocking but instead tipped the chair too close to once side and slipped off the cheap chair flinging it away to the left of himself while he fell to the right smacking his head onto the sink next to him.

Warm liquid ran down the front of his face, as he went to check at the top of his head with his hand he was brought back into the air by the paracord dangling him as a mere puppet in a show being handled by its master.

The pain that was accumulating on the top of his head was replaced  with an even greater struggle. Helplessly dangling by nothing more than the commander's head didn't bode well for his oxygen habit and he soon found himself gasping for breath as his lower half weighed his head down from reaching out to grab a breath.

“HUUU AHGGG *cough* HEEEEE'' something creaked above the commander and a loud cracking sound could be heard coming from above. “Seems like the Support beam will break before this cord does”

He struggled as tried to free himself from the loop he made from the para cord, however the more he struggled to bring his hands up near his head the more he realized the futility of his situation.

The commander was going to die, not by his own hands but by an accident caused by the visitor at his door.

“How pitiful” he thought, giving up the losing battle he was fighting he let his hands rest by his side giving up.

Even though he himself gave up his fight to live, his body did not and still flailed about uncontrollably causing him to let out more gasps of struggle trying to take in the oxygen his brain was being deprived of.

Forgetting his impertinent visitor he cast his gaze towards the door realizing the other side had grown quiet. His body growing more tired, was slower and weaker to fight back against its impending doom, quieting down before one last struggle.

As his vision began to blur and his consciousness began to slip, the sound of somebody on the other side of his door could be heard frantically trying to get it open.

Drifting further and further away from waking consciousness, his eyelids slowly closed blurring his vision even more.

And as his eyes took in the last glimpse of life he will ever see, a blurry watery picture of a large object seemingly moving by itself transformed his picture into a colorful display of washed out colors merging together before closing his eyes.

Moments until losing his consciousness completely, an incessant sound could be heard ringing in his ears shaking him to his core before it too, drifted further and further away as well. Becoming nothing more than a distant echo in a sea of nothingness.
