CHAPTER 104: OROCHI DRAGON

SERENA MAIZONO

As the sun peeks out from the horizon, the giant Excalibur sinks in towards the ocean. Several shockwave pulses every second as the Sword of Camelot continue to surge upon the otherworldly entity that has the eye of gods at her disposal. Being restrained by chains and having her clothes and skin melted by elemental attacks she still has enough power to resist.

“Psychic Orbs! Burst!” Sakuradrop screamed in panic as she telekinetically controlled her floating pink bombs to intercept the Sword of Camelot’s path.

Twelve explosions were made in a danger-close situation on Sakuradrop’s perspective. These psychic blasts are powerful enough to evaporate half of a gigantic airship, but destroying the battleship-sized legendary sword is a far greater challenge. Sword of Camelot is protected by the natural force and wind barriers, and such invisible shields only broke after seven psychic orbs exploded. The rest of the orbs managed to destroy the sharp edges of the sword, but it is still powerful enough to crash onto the enemy.

“Kraaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!” Sakuradrop cried as she sunk into the ocean together with the remains of the Sword of Camelot. A gigantic splash was made, followed by a whirlpool. Then a golden light blasted under the sea.

“Activating Vesryn Pulse!” Alphonse shouted just before he could fall to the ground. With such magic, Z transformed into an Elemental Dragon to catch the falling Alphonse and Danielle in midair. “Whew! That was freaking risky!”

“Good work, Senor.” Danielle praised her friend. Then the black beauty looked at me who is floating in the atmosphere. “Good job to you too, Mademoiselle.”

I lowered my altitude and matched the Elemental Dragon’s position. I made a smile to my friends, but I immediately changed to a serious expression as I stare back at the sea. I used my magical sixth sense to feel the nature around and saw that there is still a peculiar aura looming on the seafloor.

“Sakuradrop, stop playing games with us. We know that you’re not done yet.”

Suddenly, the sea split open, revealing the wounded dragonoid in the center. Sakuradrop is standing on top of a gigantic coral, and she’s giving this same malicious smile at us that struck fear to our sensations. Her lotus dress has been burnt completely, and now she’s nude. She looked like a perfect woman that can only be seen on paintings with that flawless white skin of hers. The wounds she sustained from Z’s magical sprinkles immediately healed as if she has a supreme regeneration that can top Elform.

“Damn, I would like to let you go because Eldritch needed my protection, but you guys are really determined to die this day.” Sakuradrop flicked her silky long black hair. “If that is what you guys wish, then I will be more than happy enough to massacre all of you at once.”

Sakuradrop reached out her delicate hand in the air, and golden particles of light gathered to form a sakura-shaped rosary. The rosary has eight petals, and each petal has a genuine beating heart that looks the same as those that Lothar Pendragon used for Vesryn Pulse. I can sense an absurd amount of magical energy from that weird rosary, and I am now certain that the aura of fear we’ve been feeling the whole time comes from that object.

“Fucking shit! W-What the heck is that!? Disgusting!” Alphonse almost puked.

“Si Senor. I can’t imagine how many dragon knights she killed just to make that thing.” Danielle trembled.

“Y-You… That’s way too horrible, Sakuradrop…” I covered my mouth and gasped.

“For the past years, I have been choosing the best dragon knights in Elysia, Sargus, and Fleija. Eldritch even held out a tournament just for me to get the best toys available. Unfortunately, this necklace is not yet complete. I planned on taking Alphonse Faradeiss’s heart sooner, but I think eight dragon knight hearts will suffice to conquer the world.” Sakuradrop laughed like a mad brat.

“Doodley hell! You really are disgusting!” Alphonse freaked out.

“You will pay for the sins you have done to those poor humans!” I cried out loud as I pointed my hand at the enemy. With my Elform magic, I created a gigantic portal in the skies that spawned thousands of swords. “Endless Forge!”

The swords rained upon the nude dragonoid with the divine eye, but for some reason, the projectiles did not hit their target. Just before a blade was about to pierce through Sakuradrop’s skin, the sword will be repelled like a reverse effect of a magnet. Soon, all the swords that I have magically created hit nothing but the seafloor and the corals around the split sea.

“I am a god. Not even a pesky dragon queen can graze me! Now bow and beg for mercy, as I am about to descend!” Sakuradrop cried as her Eye of Deus glowed. “Overloading Vesryn Pulse!”

A gigantic ray of light shattered the skies and ate Sakuradrop whole. A powerful shockwave blasted, making me and the Elemental Dragon sway in the atmosphere in an attempt to resist and not to be thrown away from the battlefield. The morning blue skies immediately shifted to blood red, and a crimson moon on the horizon popped up out of nowhere.

The sea was further split away and apart as Sakuradrop revealed her dragon form, which is an abomination. With thick adamantine black scales as her armor, eight serpent tails that are full of spikes, eight dragon heads that contain Eye of Deus each, and the main body that has the wings similar to a dark angel, this is the peak of her power. The divine yet the evil presence of this entity makes it clear that Sakuradrop is not lying about being a god. She is now the legendary dragon that is written on the ancient scriptures of Vesryn. She is the Orochi Dragon.

“I-Impossible! I can’t believe that such a creature exists!” Danielle cried. Even me and Alphonse can’t hide our surprised faces. We are just as astounded as she is.

Orochi Dragon is a famous piece of history all over the world. It was once said that it is the only dragon that is the enemy of all living things, even to its dragonkin. Long before Vesryn existed, the Orochi Dragon lay waste to everything that exists. Humans fought it. Elves fought it. Dragons fought it. But nobody was able to kill it. According to the legends, Orochi Dragon is completely immortal and each of its dragon heads has a heart of its own. As long as one piece of it remains, it would regenerate back to its true form.

“GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!” The Orochi Dragon’s eight heads roared at the same time, making a deafening supersonic. I can feel my ears bleeding just for its roars alone.

Suddenly, the eight-headed serpent communicated us using our minds. “Behold, for I am the legendary god that once existed since time immemorial! I am the destroyer of kingdoms and the usurper of the dragon’s throne! My true name is Sakuradrop, and my true form is Orochi! I have come to conquer the world once again!”

For every word Orochi Dragon speaks inside our brains, our heads feel like exploding. Her psychic power is astounding, and there is no doubt that this dragon has the psychic capacity of about thirty Psychic Amplifiers. If it wasn’t for my Eye of Deus, I’m pretty sure we’re all mind-controlled right now.

“We need to take her down! Right fucking now!” Alphonse shouted out loud as he and his Elemental Dragon charged towards the enemy with extreme speed. When they are close enough from the legendary dragon, Alphonse inhaled the smoke of his vape, and his Elemental Dragon expanded its lungs to vacuum as much air as she can. “Phosphorus Blow Synchronize!!!”

Excessive cloud of white smoke filled the split sea, but the white phosphorus failed to reach the target. The Orochi Dragon is being protected by a force that is repelling anything that approaches it. Not even a single speck of the poisonous chemical reached the enemy.

“Whirlwind Strike!” Danielle flapped her fans with full force towards the smoke. The magical traces of energy together with the wind force ignited the thick cloud of chemicals, making a white flame that towers on the split sea. The great flames reached about fifty meters in height, but the heat did not make it through the Orochi Dragon.

“Fool! I am the god of psychic energy! I can change the vectors of any attack! Nothing can hit me no matter what you do!” Orochi Dragon spoke through our minds, which made our heads ache.

“No! Not yet!” I shouted out loud as I soared up in the skies. Using all the remaining magical energy in the air and on my Elform, I created a gigantic portal in the skies again. “Sword of Camelot!!!”

I gave out my all in this one single attack. If this does not work, nothing will. So I will do what I can to defeat her!

“Haaaaaahhhhh!!!” I pointed my hand towards the Orochi Dragon, and the Sword of Camelot followed. As the wind barrier shatters, the golden battleship-sized sword brightened its glow.

But…

I have far overestimated my power. Worse, I have underestimated the power of the legendary dragon that used to overthrow ancient empires.

“This is your end, Serena Maizono!” The Orochi Dragon proclaimed telepathically.

The eight snakeheads of the Orochi Dragon unleashed a purple laser from their mouths. The laser easily evaporated the Sword of Camelot in a matter of split second, and now all eight blasters are coming right to me.

“N-No… Xen… Save me…”

That’s all I can mutter just before my body was engulfed completely by the psychic beam.
