Jing Yi turned to Qiu Ling as soon as he put his chopsticks down. "I think we should go and contact my grandfather immediately."

Qiu Ling blinked. Uh … 'we'? That didn’t sound like such a good idea … He looked at the dishes on the table and picked them up one by one. "I … think you should go alone for once."

"Ah?" Jing Yi blanked. "Why that?" Since when was Qiu Ling not trying to stick to him? Had something happened while he was washing up?

Qiu Ling looked at Jing Yi’s expression and couldn’t help but cough. He would also love to stick to his beloved if he could, alright? It was just that … even though he was a dragon and knew how to use his spiritual energy, that didn’t mean that he could split himself in two! How was he supposed to be himself and Jing Yi’s grandfather at the same time? This dilemma really made him want to cry …

He wondered for a moment if he would be able to have one of the others turn into 'grandfather' while he accompanied Jing Yi but if they botched it up, his beloved would think that things weren’t alright between him and his grandfather anymore. He couldn’t let that happen!

He put on a neutral expression and sighed. "It’s not that I don’t want to meet him. Actually, I would like to. But … with how things are, I feel that it would be best if the two of you meet on your own first. It’ll be easier to clear up things without an outsider there. Otherwise, he’d have to admit to his wrongdoing not only in front of you but also me. That might not go too well."

Jing Yi nodded and reached out, taking Qiu Ling’s hand on his own initiative. "Thank you. You’re thinking so much on my behalf. I don’t even know what to say."

Qiu Ling looked at that small hand and felt that he was unexpectedly so awesome. Uh, no, that wasn’t right. Of course, he was very awesome. It was rather that he was even more awesome than he had thought. He was actually able to get himself into such a difficult situation where he had trouble to cope and still managed to make his beloved look up to him. Hah! Obviously, he had already transcended the realm of normal awesomeness!

Jing Yi couldn’t help but laugh when he saw Qiu Ling’s expression of swelling up with pride. It seemed he shouldn’t praise him too much in the future. Otherwise, things might go out of hand.

He got up and patted Qiu Ling’s shoulder. "Alright, then I’ll go and meet my grandfather. You can … go and talk with the villagers or … well, maybe you’d like to practice or something. I’ve been holding you back for the last few weeks, haven’t I?"

Qiu Ling shook his head. "Don’t worry about that. Obviously, I’m very awesome. What are a few weeks?"

"Mn. You’re the best." Jing Yi turned away, barely holding in his laughter. He left the house and then went into the forest, going to his usual spot.

Meanwhile, Qiu Ling took a deep breath to calm down. Even though his beloved had just praised him so much, that was only toward his real self. 'Grandfather' was another thing altogether. When they met in a bit, he had to be humble and apologetic or all of this wouldn’t work at all. He had to make his beloved forgive him and then give him ad—

Qiu Ling’s eyes widened. That idiot, Fu Min! Why hadn’t he supplied him with any information yet?! Several weeks had already gone by but he hadn’t returned even once to give him information! How was he supposed to answer his beloved’s questions now?!

Qiu Ling held his head but now was hardly the time to curse that guy. He had to go and meet up with his beloved!

Thus he snuck out of the house, hid himself and then took on the appearance of 'grandfather'. He pondered for a moment and then added on some additional wrinkles and white hair to make sure he looked like he had suffered a lot in the last few weeks since their argument. It couldn’t hurt to pretend to be pitiful, could it? Then, he went to meet up with his beloved.

Jing Yi was currently holding the bracelet he had given him, lightly calling out for his grandfather. At first, nothing happened. He sighed and was already putting the bracelet away when there was some rustling behind him. He turned around and was faced with an old man.

Jing Yi blinked his eyes. Had his grandfather … always looked so old? He would have thought it was because he should have aged in the past five years since they saw each other the last time but … what about a few weeks ago? He felt that he hadn’t looked that old then. Well, he had been preoccupied with other things so maybe he hadn’t noticed. It was possible.

Jing Yi pushed the thought away and then gave a strained smile. "Grandfather."

Qiu Ling pondered what he had called him back then. "Little boy …" It seemed a bit wrong to call him that now that Jing Yi was fifteen but anyway, old men could be strange. "You’re not angry anymore?" He tried to look as if he had a really bad conscience but he had never had one so he wasn’t sure how it had turned out.

Jing Yi watched his expression that didn’t seem as if it could quite settle on something. Most likely … his grandfather was really embarrassed and worried that he wouldn’t forgive him? Jing Yi sighed at that thought. Qiu Ling had been right. In that case, he would also be right that they could talk things through and forgive each other.

He gave a small smile. "I’m sorry for how I reacted the other time. I was angry but I shouldn’t have been like that. Can you forgive me for that?"

Qiu Ling’s gaze darted around. "If I say yes, will you forgive me for lying to you?"

"I already did."

Qiu Ling gave a pleased smile. "Then there’s nothing for me to forgive either." He hurried over and gave a happy smile. "So, why don’t you tell me about the past few years now? We haven’t seen each other for so long. There must be a lot you want to tell me." And that way, I’ll also have lots of time to wait for that idiot Fu Min to come and give me the information I need!"

Qiu Ling wasn’t completely wrong but he also wasn’t completely wrong. While Jing Yi did sit down with him and told him about some of the things he had experienced in the past few years, he kept it brief so as to not waste his grandfather’s time. Thus, in the end, he brought up the dreaded question much sooner than expected.
