Final class of the day, Sasha resisted glancing back at him. She couldn't help but feel his gaze on her, crawling along the back of her neck like a bug.

If we make eye contact, he might ask-

-but he might think I’m…

Her rage from lunch turned to humiliation after concluding she’d have to confess to him, but she’d never confessed to anyone before. Her face pinked.

Thankfully no idiots asked her what was wrong.

What should I do?

Sasha sought Eva’s help, but Eva faced forward.

The teacher pushed his glasses up and called upon someone, asking for a random fact about American history.

The called upon person answered without hesitating.

Then the bell rang and a bunch of students stood up all at once.

What should I do? What should I do? “What should I do?”

“I can walk you home, pretty girl,” said a boy leaning against the desk next to hers.

Sasha scrunched her nose and turned away.

“I wasn't kidding.” The boy's tone changed.

“No,” Sasha responded over her shoulder.

“But...I... ah whatever, your loss.” The boy left.

Eva watched him leave. “You've been getting asked out too?”

“Yes,” Sasha growled and risked a glance over at Yatsu. He finished packing his stuff, and tossed his bag over his shoulder. “I should have never worn that stupid costume.”

Eva giggled. “It was pretty cute…” Eva moved closer. “So you going to ask him out?”

Sasha face darkened.

“Go!” Eva encouraged.

Sasha stood up, sat back down. “I don't know what to say.”

“Just say hi?” Eva suggested.

Sasha glared at her. “Like you would do that.”

Eva blushed. “Then... wait? -for him to ask you out?”

Sasha nodded, watching Yatsu leave. If he asks me out.

That concludes the first part and essentially, Sasha's introduction (what I would call a prequel). Next we will be exploring Yatsu's perspective as the real story begins :3
