After the incident on the capital, the Army was in a complete disarray.

Many died at that day, which happened a week ago.

Some rejoiced. Some cried. The city was rebuilding what was damaged, which was basically the walls of the front gate, and the farmlands at the front of the walls. There were some monsters appearing from time to time, but nothing that adventurers or knights couldn’t handle.

The main focus of this whole event, was one person: Ueda Kenji. An other worlder, summoned 4 months ago. He was classified as a Pure Mana Source by the Vampires, and even the blood moon, which should have vanished at its third month, didn’t vanished yet, exactly because of the Pure Mana Source not being sacrificed yet.

With the reports reaching the Emperor of Valor’s Empire, Alexander Goldguard Herington, he analyzed them with a bored expression.

Goldguard, as he was known, simply conquered the former Empire, because he wanted. He felt that the former Empire was weak, and he wasn’t wrong.

The territory of the Empire, was more than half of its actual length, even smaller than both League of Magic and the Free State of Vortex. After Goldguard ascended to the throne, he dominated the former Solari Dunes, located to the north of the Empire’s territory, and the Icy Plains, close to where the Vampire’s Stronghold is located.

“So? The useless boy did something? He’s still useless towards my objective.”

With a carefree attitude, Goldguard let the paper on his hands slip, and fell to the ground, making the Colonel Gregory hold a sigh, and the other nobles to criticize the Emperor.

“It is as the report informs, your Imperial Majesty.”

The Elf, Ayduin, repeated. Ayduin was one of the most surprised towards Kenji’s evolution. Seeing with his own eyes what Kenji did on the battlefield, made him more of a believer that Kenji wasn’t useless, but could have a good use towards what the Emperor wanted to achieve.

“And you think that his skill, that… what was it again? [Technomagic]? Is useful? Don’t make me laugh. What that technology that those other worlders brought can do towards magic?”

No one answered. All of them in the room knew, that Technology made their lives more easy. Brewing tea was faster than before, cleaning places was easier, communicating with certain people was even more of an easy task too! But in terms of power, for them, magic was better.

Even Ayduin agreed with that. But what got its attention, wasn’t the technology, but what Kenji could do with both Tech, and Magic. If Magic is powerful, and Technology makes things more easy, the what if you mix the two? Won’t you have something even better? Were his thoughts.

“Alas, your Imperial Majesty, his accomplishments on the battlefield can’t pass without a proper reward.” Another noble talked. Alas, Goldguard’s attitude was…

“Hmph! Don’t make me laugh! You weren’t able to retrieve the Vampire’s Core were you?! Such thing could advance my objective but you failed on that! I can even think that the useless boy got it!”

Goldguard wanted the Bloodiest Core, the core the Pure Vampire should had. Alas, when his knights searched for it, they couldn’t find it. And when asked to other knights, they said they saw Kenji with it, and he was appraising it. But the next second, the core simply vanished from his hand, and he was holding his head.

What exactly is your objective, Goldguard? Was the unanswered question the nobles had in their minds. They knew of what Goldguard did several times, and even knew that he was one of the Seven Sinners, the Sinner of Envy.

He summoned ‘Heroes’ of another world, made them stronger, and then… he absorbed their souls and power with the Sinner’s Skill. Even some of the men of the former Empire, suffered from such fate. And of course, none of the actual nobles wanted to suffer those same consequences.

“That’s enough. You are dismissed. Except for you, Ayduin.”

The nobles bowed, and walked away of the room. Now, with the room completely empty, with only Goldguard and Ayduin, did he spoke.

 “What you think of it?”

“With all do respect sir, the boy can become a great source for your ascension.”

Ayduin spoke his true feelings on the matter.

“I do not think so. He doesn’t suit my fancy.”

“That I know, sir. But then again, some of your actual skills too, don’t suit your fancy, does it?”

After summoning countless people from the other world, Goldguard acquired many interesting skills, such as Elemental Manipulation, Draconian Energy Mastery, and Concept Manipulation, just to name a few. But he also acquired some useless ones, such as Master Cook, Beast Taming, and Summoning. All of these, were useless by his own opinion.

“Alas, I won’t lose my time absorbing his soul. His companions though, got my attention.”

“You mean, the Eagle-Kin, the Necrotic She-Viper and the Darkness Fox Spirit?”

“Yes. They can help me even further.”

“That I do not doubt, but even then, it’ll take time.”

“Tch! It has been more than 600 Years since I started this. It has passed too much time already. Contact Verway. Make him work double time.”

“Are you still trusting that man? With all do respect, going to that other world where magic does not exist, will only make things worse.”

“Yes. But what if we transport more and more people from there to here?”

Ayduin simply looked away. Goldguard had yet another loyal pawn on his circle of trusted people. Verway. He was a descendant of the Psy Tribe, long gone. He was a scientist, working on the Sea of Rust, on one of the many projects that was left from the founder of the place. He also was a former Noble of the Kingdom of Rezia, and lived previously on the Free State of Vortex.

“I will talk with him soon. Anything else?”

“Those 2 kidnapped by the Vampires…”

“Yes. It looks like the boy will go there personally, and bring them back.”

“Well, at least he has his uses. Hmmm… One of those pathetic maggots wants to go too, right?”

“Yes, the girl named as Suzuki Mari. Are you thinking of sending her too?”

“Yes. And do please put some spell to track her. I don’t want to lose a future sacrifice.”

“As you wish, Your Imperial Majesty.”

With a wave of his hand, Ayduin got out of the Throne room. Back at his bedroom, he walked towards the table, and with a pen and a book on it, he started writing things.

“Sentina. What do you know about that boy?”

He instantly called for the Spirit bound to him. She sighed very loudly, and started thinking, not answering him right away.

<Not much. Only that he can do things that not everyone can. Such as those, what was it again? Relifacts?>

 “Relifacts?” That got Ayduin’s attention.

<It is what you think it is. A powerful tool, much more so than a relic or an artifact. Basically, a mix from the two. And that’s all I know.> No way in nether I’ll tell everything.

“Interesting. If I can put my hands on that… I’ll be as powerful as the Emperor even.”

 <Good luck with that.>

Sentina words were full of hatred towards Ayduin. Also, she expected Kenji to clean the floor with his face, and knew even more that Kenji wouldn’t abide by his delusions. I just hope hope he finish this man already.

Sentina also wanted to have her freedom being back to her, and for that, either Ayduin must be killed, or the seal on the forest destroyed. She hoped for Kenji to do either, or both, but the former was a bit harder than the latter. If only Ayduin never put his hands on the Temperance Virtue. How the hell a man like him is virtuous?

With her thoughts finished, and Ayduin not asking anything more, she vanished from the place.

“Sending the girl with him too, huh? I guess that can prove to be a good thing.”

And with that, he finished writing whatever he wrote on the book. He left the room with a happy smile, and proceeded towards where Suzuki Mari’s room was located.

New Chapter, new Arc soon! So, we finally know what the Emperor's thinking! And what is his objective. Expect more soon!
