Chapter 416

While the other Hunters were busy preparing for the counterattack, Mikael found himself in the glacial desert. He looked around and confirmed that the place had nothing but a blizzard and the endless sight of frost.

Then, he looked down and decided to destroy the place. This was his way of knocking on the door.

The ice started cracking down until it scattered, the water started rising and Mikael looked at the existence that was resting under the ice.

"Who dares to disturb my sleep?"

The creature roared and completely eradicated the ice in the surrounding areas. They melt, and the pressure was so hot that the skin of a normal person would dissolve.

However, Mikael accepted everything, he brushed the water off his shoulder and glanced at the creature that came out of the ice. It would take something hotter to burn his semi-dragon skin. 

"Yow, you just destroyed a piece of the Arctic, don't you know that it is bad for the environment? Dude, you're fastening the Global Warming!"

Mikael chuckled, looking at the melting ice. They were in the middle of the Arctic region where the endless rain of ice was pouring.

"You fool, you are the one who destroyed this place! The first attack that you did crack it into pieces!"

The creature was growling but Mikael shrugged. Indeed, the attack that he dropped on the place caused most of the damage.

"Well, since the sun is no longer visible, it seems that Global Warming is nothing but a myth."

He justified. 

"And? What is the reason a transcendent like you is here?"

The creature, the Leviathan, looked down at the little human. Still, the creature understood that there was a massive pool of mana inside the person.

"I'm here to know why you stink like the Demons! The aura that you release is so close to that of a Demon. You even have a mild effect of corruption."

Mikael frowned as he smelled the scent of the awful aura. Every strand of hair on his skin was standing in disgust. He could not understand why a giant creature like this was emitting that aura.

"Tell me, are you a Demon? Because of you are, then I will kill you."

He didn't hesitate, staring at the creature with a cold gaze. Mikael would end the creature's life.

The Leviathan gazed at him. The creature was hundreds of meters tall. It has pure black scales but it can not be considered a snake. It is more like an eel, a vicious eel that released potent poison.

"Tell me, who are you?"

Mikael released his weapon. If he was not satisfied with the answer, he would destroy this whole place together with the Leviathan. The world was already in a state where destruction like this was not important. After all, every part of the world was slowly getting wrecked.

"It's not a problem if I destroy this place, I'm more of a summer guy anyway."

"Hah! This is my territory!"

The Leviathan found it absurd. This was the first time that the creature saw this person but the Leviathan already knew that he was an asshole.

"Don't worry, you just have to answer. If your answer is good, then I will let you live."

When he left Furrneka in Cavite, Mikael started killing Demons again. But because the Rifts were still open, he understood that the Demons he killed would be replaced by other Demons instead.

So Mikael decided to visit this place because he could sense that out of all the Demons, Leviathan was the biggest threat.

'That is if he's indeed an enemy.'

"Come on I'm listening."

He agreed on killing the Leviathan before it could betray them and aid the Demons.

"..."

The Leviathan looked at the dark sky. The creature sighed and decided to tell the truth, it did not matter anyway. After all, it was obvious that the Leviathan was reeking of corruption. 

"I'm a Demon Lord."

"Pttf- haha!"

Mikael was caught off guard and laughed. That was the greatest punchline he ever heard. 

However, the Leviathan did not flinch. He was just staring at Mikael. 

"O- oh? So you are not lying?"

"Do I have a reason to lie? I can see that you have the intention to kill me in the first place no matter what excuses I make, so it's better to be honest."

Mikael was determined to end the Leviathan's life. He already demolished millions of life, adding a Legendary Creature won't affect him that much. Besides, Mikael strongly believe that the Leviathan was an enemy. 

'As long as he released corruption, I will consider him a Demon.'

That mentality was kind of racist but in this case, Mikael did not give a fuck. 

"Go on, I am listening."

The Leviathan gazed at something far away, reminiscing.

"To be exact, I was a Demon Lord. I hold the authority of Envy. This body of mine is not my original body. After I discarded my identity, my body morphed into this, well it's not bad. The only downside is that I can't scratch my back easily."

"Yeah, then what are you exactly?"

"I'm nothing but a concept."

Mikael was stunned as if he realized something. 

"All of existence has envy, when that feeling began to overflow, my being came fruit. I'm the whole manifestation of Envy, that is my whole life... And that is the reason I became like this."

"What? So you're telling me that I have to listen to this shit?"

Mikael realized that this story would be long.

"First of all, you are the one who asked me."

"Damn it!"

Instead of losing his fuse, he sat on the ice and listened carefully to the creature. 

'The existence of a concept... just like Earth-chan.'

Mikael understood that he was slowly getting close to the truth.
