Not many things were going on in the community these last few days, so Fu Zheng had nothing to busy himself with. However, Gao Yuan gave him a call regarding the handling of Jin Jianhua's case.

Hiding outside the office, discussing with Gao Yuan the specifics of the matter, Gao Yuan asked Fu Zheng when he would formally return to headquarters.

"A little longer," said Fu Zheng, thinking. "I have to first tell Ning Wan the truth and wrap up my work at the community."

After saying that, he added, "After I leave, remember to transfer Chen Shuo back to headquarters."

"What?" Gao Yuan asked, a little stupefied.

"Headquarters is now short the income from Jin Jianhua's team, so other teams will have to work harder to make up for the loss. Isn't Chen Shuo reliable and highly-praised? We can't be without such an able general, send him back." His face neither blushing nor his heart thumping, Fu Zheng continued, "Also, the previous community shifts were never formally settled. We should rotate the posts."

On the other end of the line, Gao Yuan insinuated, "You think that I don't know what you're on about? Is Chen Shuo such an eyesore to you?"

"I'm just talking business." Fu Zheng pursed his lips. "If there's nothing else to talk about, bye."

However, as in many things, what the speaker might not have meant the listener had heard. When he thought about what Gao Yuan had said, Fu Zheng had to admit that it was true, Chen Shuo hadn't been very pleasing to the eye recently.

Every time he chatted with Ning Wan, Chen Shuo would interrupt him, either taking over the topic or to bring Ning Wan's attention to something else, as if he itched to mess up anything Fu Zheng did with Ning Wan.

It's time to find a way to send him away, Fu Zheng thought calmly.

He really was an eyesore.

But beyond Fu Zheng's expectations, ten minutes later what he had just thought about came true in a rather more tragic manner than expected--

Not long after he hung up the phone, when he had just returned to the office, Director Ji scurried in unexpectedly with panic written all over his face--

"Ning Wan! Fu Zheng! Something happened!"

At first, Ning Wan seemed quite calm. She poured a glass of water Director Ji to soothe him and said, "Calm down, what's going on? Don't be nervous, we can handle it."

Panting and out of breath, Director Ji's voice trembled. "No, something really happened! Xiao Chen, Xiao Chen, he got crushed!!!”

When he said this, even Fu Zheng was left dumbfounded.

Startled, Ning Wan asked, "What? With what? Chen Shuo got crushed? What's going on? Didn't he go out to hand out educational leaflets? Who did he have an argument with? How could someone hit him just because they didn't agree?"

"No, no!" contradicted Director Ji, his face pale. "Not something that minor! Xiao Chen was smashed by a falling object! When he was at those two high-rise buildings, who knows how but something suddenly fell right as Xiao Chen was walking underneath. It hit him before he could dodge and now he's seriously injured! The ambulance hasn't even arrived yet, he's still lying on the ground!"

A falling object had seriously injured Chen Shuo?!?

Ning Wan panicked. "How is he? Where? Take me to him!"

Fu Zheng followed after. "I'll go with you," he said to Ning Wan. "In case they need help moving Chen Shuo to a stretcher, I can help."

Flustered after receiving such bad news, Ning Wan immediately nodded. She grabbed his hand and followed Director Ji to the sit of Chen Shuo's accident.

Ning Wan was anxious, and Fu Zheng also quite shocked. Although he found Chen Shuo to be an eyesore, he hadn't wanted something like this to happen.

Even if an object falling from the sky was merely the weight of an egg, it could still do great harm. If it hit the head, it might be fatal. Behind every case was a bloody, injured or dead person.

As these thoughts passed through his mind, Fu Zheng's mood sank. At least from a work perspective, Chen Shuo was conscientious, energetic, and young. He was a talent that had yet to be molded. How could such an accident happen?

Fortunately, Director Ji's words calmed them down a little. "I don't know the specifics yet," he explained, "For those, we'll have to go to the hospital to get a doctor's diagnosis. But when I saw Chen Shuo at the scene, he was fine. Thank goodness he didn't hit his head. At the very least, he's alive, and when he spoke he seemed to be coherent. He just said that he was in pain, and that he thought his hand was broken and his chest hurts, but he wasn't sure exactly where in his chest..."

Hearing that Chen Shuo was alive, both Ning Wan and Fu Zheng breathed a sigh of relief. But then Ning Wan couldn't help but worry, "I hope he didn't hurt his spine..."

The spine was especially sensitive. If you received an unlucky injury, one might be paralyzed for life...

How had this happened?! Ning Wan reproached herself internally. How she wished she had dissuaded Chen Shuo from distributing educational leaflets today!
