In a dark cave filled with corpses and the smell of freshly drawn blood there I stood in front of a man with a sword that pierced straight through his chest and Armour we both looked shocked and all that could be heard was silence quickly followed by the sound of heavy breathes

 

I wasn't sure who's I was hearing mine or his but it didn't matter I was so anxious and filled with adrenaline that my hands holding the blade were shaking; so many thoughts went through my head yet I couldn't make sense of any of them

 

Suddenly I heard something that made my mind go instantly blank only being able to focus on what I heard. It was the shriek of a woman it was filled with pain and sadness and the words it formed made my blood run cold

 

"AAAAGGGHHHH WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!"

 

The cries continued which made me increasingly uncomfortable I just wanted this all to end but right as I thought that the mans body finally fell to the ground and when it did a Black liquid surrounded me covering me instantly from head to toe and before I could even fully register what exactly was happening it attached itself to my skin it felt like a bunch of hands gripping onto me tightly and refusing to let go I couldn't move or breath all I could do was wait for it to be over when suddenly I heard a whisper

 

"Thank you"

 

I wasn't sure who said it but once I heard those words I suddenly felt calm and relieved I wasn't sure exactly why though I still couldn't move or breath and it still felt like a tight blanket was wrapped tightly around me but it surprisingly didn't bother me and apart of me even felt like embracing it thinking that something good would happen if I did but the feeling soon disappeared in fact everything did I was no longer in the cave surrounded by all that tragedy instead I was floating in a black void completely isolated from everything

 

Suddenly I saw a light a head of me and decided to start moving towards it I wasn't sure what the source of the light was or what would happen once I reached it but I couldn't help but go towards it not knowing what else to do

 

As I got closer I heard a voice it was the voice of a woman that I both recognized but also couldn't seem to remember who exactly it belonged to; I didn't understand what it was saying so I decided to get closer and as I did I could start to hear it more clearly and could start to make out what it was saying; it only said one word however over and over

 

"Adam" It called

 

I wasn't sure how to respond since I didn't know what this thing was or why it called to me by name but I decided to give it a simple answer in response

 

"Yes?" I replied

 

"Adam Get up idiot its 7:30 you overslept"

 

The voice then changed from female to male and immediately after I felt something soft and fluffy smack my face which immediately woke me up

 

realizing it was a dream I sat up making the pillow thrown at me fall onto my lap and when I looked over to the opposite side of the room I saw my little brother John putting on his shoes while looking annoyed

 

"Jeez could you hurry up you know we have to get the bus today" he said in a whiny voice

 

"Yeah sure sorry" I replied still a little sleepy

 

I was still trying to recover from the dream I just had while being nagged at by my brother; it was weird though I've had the same dream multiple times before but I still couldn't get used to it

 

"By the way did you do a girl voice while you were trying to wake me up?" I asked curious

 

After asking this however all John could seem to do was look at me with a disgusted look

 

"What ew no why the hell would I do that?" he said in a disgusted tone

 

"Oh okay sorry must of just been my dream then"

 

Johns look then did a complete 180 going from disgust to curiosity

 

"What kind of dream was it" he asked seeming to forget that we both needed to get ready

 

"Its weird its that recurring dream I keep having but it was a bit different this time instead of ending after I'm surrounded by that black stuff this time there was a light and a girls voice calling me" I said feeling a bit worried

 

"I think your just horny"

 

"H-Hey I'm not horny I just heard a girls voice that's it" I yelled back in retaliation

 

John just looked at me all smug like he was the greatest and that he just won something important before going back to getting ready for school

 

"Well whatever it doesn't really matter it was just a dream so don't think too much about it or you'll never get anything done" he said reassuringly

 

"Right thanks"

 

He's an asshole but I have to give it to him he's quick to cut the jokes when he should unlike someone else I know I then began to get ready first I went and had a shower while brushing my teeth at the same time I then got changed into my school clothes making sure to put my hoodie on top covering the shirt I then went down stairs where John was waiting for me

 

"Finally took you long enough lets go"

 

"Yeah hang on a minute I just got down stairs" I said exhausted from rushing

 

"We don't have a minute the bus will be here soon hurry up"

 

John then rushed out the door leaving me behind and I ended up sighing over his needless worrying

 

"He does know we have five minutes right?"

 

I asked my mother who was sitting at the kitchen table reading something on her phone

 

"Its not a bad thing to want to be on time" she replied

 

"Yeah but he does like to go the extra mile though it seriously makes him look psychotic"

 

"Hahaha don't let him catch you saying that he wont let it go" she said jokingly

 

"Yeah true well ill see you later then"

 

I then began to head for the door wanting to get out of here as soon as possible before the other one shows up

 

"Oh by the way did you have something to eat this morning" she asked

 

"Uh no ill just have something at school" I quickly replied

 

"You really shouldn't skip breakfast you know its a bad habit"

 

"Its fine I rea..."

 

"WHAT DID I JUST HEAR"

 

before I could finish my sentence and leave I felt a thick arm across my neck putting me in a head lock

 

"Ow ow ow what the hell let go" I said being both angry and in pain

 

"Let your brother go Mathew or he'll be late"

 

That's right the giant arm strangling me belonged to my older brother Matt we didn't really get along mainly because he pulls shit like this all the time so I wanted to avoid him before he came out to feed on whatever was left in the fridge but I missed my chance

 

"But he's skipping breakfast! He does know its the most important meal of the day right?" he said mockingly

 

"Just get your over sized arms off" I said annoyed

 

"Fine but don't blame me if your weak forever" he said with a grin

 

Matt was very strong and tall for his age and even though he was only two years older then me he was 6 inches taller clocking in at 6ft 5

 

"Jeez I don't think it matters how many breakfasts I eat I don't think ill ever compare to you you freak of nature"

 

"Ha that's probably true but don't drop out of the race just yet or you might end up shorter then john" he said with a cheeky grin

 

"Don't say such chilling things" I said with a monotone voice

 

I'm okay with Matt being bigger then me that doesn't count since he was blessed by god but if that brat ends up bigger and stronger then me then I've failed as both a man and an older brother

 

"Okay well I'm off see you two later"

 

I then followed after John making sure to close the door behind me while hearing yelling coming from inside the house directed towards me

 

"DONT GET ANYONE PREGNANT!!!" Matt said in a voice loud enough for everyone in the neighbourhood to hear

 

"What an idiot" I mumbled to myself

 

I then ran over to the bus stop but right before I got there the bus beat me, picked john up and left I then chased after it hoping John would tell it to stop but it didn't and I ran desperately trying to keep up waiting and hoping it would stop which it finally did after having me chase after it for a minute I then got on and went to sit next to John who had a huge grin on his face

 

"What the hell was that?" I asked annoyed

 

"I told you to hurry didn't I" John said mockingly

 

"Ill remember this you know you better watch yourself"

 

"Yeah? you can try but ill come out on top just you watch"

 

After getting to school both me and John went in separate directions to head to our classes I think I had English first which was a huge pain since I was crap at it but I should be fine just winging it

 

After getting into the classroom I took my seat like usual and took out my book so it looked like I was busy when suddenly I heard a voice next to me

 

"Hey you got a spare pen?"

 

"No sorry I only have one"

 

"Oh okay"

 

I didn't really need the pen since I didn't plan on doing anything but I kept it just in case something happened and id need it later plus he should have remembered his own rookie mistake

 

Half an hour passed and I was laying on my desk bored waiting for the bell to ring I decided to just scroll through my phone when suddenly the teacher called my name

 

"Adam are you paying attention" she asked looking annoyed

 

Honestly I was sick of this we both knew I wasn't she just wanted to call me out which irritated me a little

 

"No Ms I wasn't" I replied

 

"Well then you'd better start or you'll be in trouble"

 

"Yeah sure"

 

Honestly I was sick of it its always been like this always are you paying attention or listen next time never are you stuck or do you need help its always been like this though its like they thought I was trying to not get it so I gave up screw them if they want to assume I'm a no good slacker ill give them one is what I thought at least

 

Suddenly in the front of the room a huge blue portal opened creating a gust of wind that blew paper and books all across the room everyone looked shocked including me we didn't know what the hell it was and all the teacher could do was look stunned along with us when suddenly she got herself together and directed her gaze to the class

 

"O-Okay everyone stay calm try an stay away from it while slowly heading towards the door" She said anxiously

 

But before anyone could move someone or at least something came out of it and when we saw what it was we all froze in fear

 

It was a huge man like creature that could put Matt to shame it had dark green skin two large and sharp bottom teeth sticking out of its mouth and bright orange eyes it was also wearing barbarian like Armour and was holding a large axe in its left hand

 

It then walked forward and behind it came another one that was slightly smaller and had lighter skin they then looked in our direction and started talking to each other

 

"Which one do you think it is?" The big one asked looking confused

 

"I don't know they all look pretty weak" the other one replied

 

"Maybe he's not here"

 

"Impossible the spell was supposed to take us to his exact location we'll just ask them"

 

The two then stopped talking looking back at us and walked closer which scared us even more when one student suddenly got up shaking looking like he was about to wet himself

 

"That's it I'm out!" he said spooked

 

He then began to run towards the door but when he did out of nowhere the axe that the big one was holding earlier was lodged in his face instantly killing him with his body falling to the floor moments later

 

"OH MY GOD!!!!"

 

Everyone looked at what just happened in complete shock and terror some screamed others cried while the rest just stayed silent not wanting to be next

 

"Idiot what if that was him" yelled the smaller one

 

"Don't worry I doubt he's that weak" The big one replied while walking over to retrieve his axe

 

I didn't know what to do I was shaking should I run hide what? I'm not sure what they'll do if they notice me and who the fuck are they looking for anyway like anyone here would know them

 

As I thought this however the big one retrieved his axe from the corpse of my dead classmate; he then turned to us and asked us a question that made me freeze up

 

"Which one of you is Adam?"

 

What the fuck how do they know my name? who are they? am I going to die? is what I thought I didn't want to answer out of fear of what they'd do to me if they found out when suddenly someone answered for me

 

"He is"

 

The teacher pointed to me as she said that I couldn't say she was wrong either out of fear of something worse happening if they found out I was lying the smaller one then walked towards me and as he got closer my fear grew larger until I could hear my own heart beat and when he finally stopped he was standing less then a metre away from me

 

"Are you Adam?" he asked

 

I really wanted to say no but I couldn't since I didn't know whether they'd kill me if not the whole class if I said no

 

"Y-Yes I am" I replied

 

He looked down at me narrowing his eyes as if he was analysing me his eyes then loosened and he kneeled down to me

 

"My lord has requested your presence if you'd kindly come with me it would be appreciated"

 

This completely shocked me for a reason other then fear why was he kneeling in front of me what lord was he talking about I don't know anyone like that

 

"Um can I say no?" I asked instantly regretting it

 

"I'm afraid not sir my lord has made it clear not to take no for an answer if you say no ill have to bring you by force" He politely replied

 

I didn't know why a monster was right in front of me being so polite but after what I've witnessed and what he just said to me I knew I didn't have any other choice

 

"F-Fine lets go then" I said as calmly as I could

 

"Great choice sir"

 

He then directed me to the portal with him in front and the other one behind me I didn't know what was waiting for me on the other side but I knew it probably wouldn't be good I then walked through; it was a weird feeling I wasn't walking but I was moving forward

 

I finally got to the other side and when I did I saw that I was in a large room with fancy white walls decorated with banners statues and different colored lights and on each side of me were different races you'd see in a fantasy movie like orcs, goblins, witches etc I couldn't believe what I was looking at right now and in front of me was a large black throne with what looked like a dragons skull above it and sitting in said throne was a man dressed in black armour from head to toe making it so I couldn't see his face the man then got off of his throne and walked over to me slowly

 

"Adam welcome it's been a while" He said with a happy voice

 

"Y-Yeah hey" I replied confused

 

I didn't know what he was talking about I've never met this man before did he have me confused with someone else but right as I was about to ask him who he was something popped into my mind that I couldn't ignore

 

"Hang on are you someone from the cave?"

 

It was a weird thing to ask but after everything that's happened today I cant ignore it he has to be connected to my dream somehow no way I can have a recurring dream like that and later be taken to a place with similar creatures and setting

 

"Correct I'm happy that you remembered me Demon Adam Id like to thank you for gifting me my power but id also like to make a selfish request if you would indulge me" he asked excitedly

 

"What's that?" I asked

 

"I would like you to fight me"

 

"Huh"
