The streetlight before our building

Still cold with shadow. They said

They were going to do something.

Can’t wait for someone to claw

Through my car only to uncover

Some dirty tupperware.

Sometimes i think society

Was a mistake, or at least

Many of the things we’ve built

For it. We never thought

Of the long-term consequences

Of roads, but we shrugged,

Built them anyway, now

The air is heavy, and every car

Screams on stiffened

Freeways. All because

Some guy found the ancient

Melt of dinosaur bones

And said, “meh, guess

This will work.”

When i was 20, i thought

I would be beyond such

Thoughts once i turned 30.
