Chapter 0134

Weapons made out of Primordial Meteorite fall under two categories - extremely powerful divine weapons or utterly useless.

Primordial Meteorite ore is considered very rare. It can only be found in the primordial chaos, the turbulence space between realms inhospitable to most forms of life. Any cultivator trying to cross the primordial chaos trying to enter another realm must face the tumultuous environment filled with chaotic energy which interferes with a cultivator's ability to circulate their power.

It is also the very same energy blanketing a portion of the valley which contains the headquarters of the Eternal Spirit Guild.

Cardis, as powerful as he is, can not traverse through the chaotic energy. Tempest could and did fly through the chaotic energy for a bit before taking a nosedive.

The environment of the primordial chaos is already harsh enough.

Once the dangerous creatures who can survive in the primordial chaos, even setting foot into it are considered suicidal.

The extremely harsh environment produces some of the rarest and precious material conductive to cultivating. Any regular rock in the primordial chaos is at least an eighth grade material.

Materials, as well as plants and herbs, are divided into grades depending on the rarity and how useful it is to a cultivator. A one-million-year-old radish is very rare, but it rated at a second grade material because it doesn’t help with cultivation. A radish is a radish after all. If it didn’t upgrade itself over a million years, it isn’t going to be anything but a crappy radish.

The highest material grade rated by cultivators in the Cardinal Realm is the Dark Siventh ore, an eleventh grade ore used to create the most powerful sword known, the Dark Siventh Sword.

The higher the grade of the material, the harder it is to handle. Primordial Meteorite is an eighth-grade ore. It takes a master weaponsmith over a hundred years to forge a weapon out of Primordial Meteorite.

It took Valstein Yoresteven, Son of Forge, 3026 attempts before he was able to create a successful divine weapon. Somehow, both his one successful attempt and all of the failed prototype was put into circulation.

Hence, most weapons made out of Primordial Meteorite are considered useless.

“Touch and know.” Bei Ting Mao had a sensitivity to metals and weapons since his affinity is earth and metal. He knows the name and properties of any weapon he touches. When he held the rapier Starm present to him, he knew this was a genuine divine sword. There was a seal placed on the weapon, limiting its power to a tenth of its original power, but it is a genuine divine sword.

He immediately hands the rapier back to Starm and wades into the pile they thought as junk, picking up a weapon, sense it with his ability then gently put it off to the side. They can all see he was interested in the weapon but there was no compatibility between them.

Graden and the rest immediately rushed to the pile, grabbing a weapon here and there, sensing compatibility before placing it gently back on the ground.

“One per person only!” Tempest yelled when she saw Fenix holding six weapons in her hand. These weapons might need a good cleaning, but it doesn’t grow on trees. Tempest needs to save some for her sisters too.

Fenix tried to act adorable and pouted. Tempest paid no attention to her. On the cuteness level, Starm was much better than her. If she can get over her aversion to his weird eyes then Starm would have been the picture of irresistible cuteness along with small kittens, Pomeranians, foxes and strangely enough ducks.

Seeing as her effort was wasted, Fenix grabbed a few more weapons before going to the corner and laying her chosen weapon out for perusal. The others did the same.

Fenix chose a spear as her weapon while Yu Li Ming’s weapon of choice is a long sword. Graden was the most hateful of the bunch. He chose a double-edged broadsword twice as big as he is. He can’t use it right now with his weak scrawny arms but he’s sure to grow into it.

“Cloud’s big sword.” Tempest murmurs to herself. While she was satisfied with her weapon of choice, the lure of a mighty big sword defying the heaven and cleaving mountains with a swing was still there.

Due to the nature of his affinities, Bei Ting Mao chose a plain rusty hammer covered with dirt and grime. After the bonds with the weapon, it was able to take the shape of any weapon he envisions. It morphed from a hammer to a dagger to a whip before settling into the form of a long sword.

Seeing that they have made their choices, Tempest stored the rest of the weapon back into her pocket space.

“Everything good?”

“We couldn’t be better. We have a defensive robe and an offensive weapon. We shouldn’t meet any mishap during our trip into the Emblemic Mountain Range.” Bei Ting Mao jovially replied.

This is the first time after his dan tian was destroyed that he felt confident he can handle anything fate throws at him. He might be weak right now but with the defensive power of the mage robe and the offensive power of his weapon he was sure he can fight and win against his enemies.

The gloom that clung to him has been slowly dispelled. Coming to the Magus Alliance and training as a mage was the right choice for him.

Tempest looked at her pumped up groups and knew there was going to be trouble. Overconfident people always try to take on more than they can handle and it will bite them in the butt if they aren’t careful. Overconfident people are rarely if ever careful so Tempest felt a piece of her behind is missing already.

Tempest stared at them, conflicted.

Finally, with great, great reluctant, she pulls out a few of her better movement charms and hands them out to the group.

“The mage robe and weapon are enough. We won’t need your charms Tempest.” Bei Ting Mao refused on behalf of the others.

“Your confidence is getting to your head.” Tempest sneered, “I bet the first thing you are going to do is challenge a magical beast you have trouble killing before your dan tian was destroyed.”

“Umm.”

It was obvious to everyone the thought did cross his mind.

“Yeah, I figured. This is why you need charms. When you get in over your head, you can use it to escape.”

Fenix snatched the charms from Tempest’s hand and start handing them out to the rest of the group. She gave each person at least three Flash Steps and As Swift as the Wind.

Graden comforted Bei Ting Mao. “We don't doubt your leadership abilities. The lure of another living saving card is irresistible.”

Bei Ting Mao became more depressed from Graden’s words. How is Graden’s word not a stab to Bei Ting Mao’s leadership abilities? Followers should feel safe under the guidance of a leader not prepare for contingencies should the leader fail. Such words only made Bei Ting Mao feel like there would be trouble.

“Of course we don't doubt his leadership abilities. He isn’t our leader in the first place. I am.” Tempest cut in the pity party with her assertion.

“Those with earth affinities-”

“I can always take back your weapon.”

“-make the…” Graden shot Bei Ting Mao an apology before saying, “A water wind mage also makes a good leader.”

Bei Ting Mao glared at the traitor but didn’t refute his comment. The weapons they got from Tempest are too good to give up. Letting Tempest believe she was the leader of the doesn’t hurt anyone.

They don’t have to listen to her if they don’t like her instructions.

“Oh yea, as the person financing this expedition, I get 70% of the loot.”

Damn it! They should have known a money grubber like Tempest doesn’t hand out gear without expecting anything in return.
