Amara sighed while laying on her bed, as she contemplated while checking through her status.

Spoiler

Change the time frame of reference to ‘Teyrin’?

Y / N

[collapse]

Yes.

Spoiler

Time frame of reference set to Teyrin.

[collapse]

So by the time the armistice is over, ten years will have passed on Earth.

This sucks. I won’t get to see anything that I had been waiting for. Self driving cars. Humans on Mars.

And I won’t be able to Filch any impressive, new technology either. Even if new technology was being created at a record pace, I don’t think anything revolutionary will happen during a decade.

Though saying that, I should be able to see what the governments were developing in secret. Considering how many things are working towards automation, I’d be surprised if there weren’t killer robots being developed already. Or at least plans for them.

But maybe it doesn’t matter if I can’t use new, groundbreaking technology as I can use magic now. I suppose there might be a possibility that there are worlds that have more developed technology than Earth too. Most likely they’ll even use mana for it.

I should focus on seeing what magical weaponry is capable of. If items can be enchanted with divine power, they probably can with mana too.

And I don’t actually know anything about how mana works yet, other than body strengthening. Neither do I have a proper combat oriented class yet either.

I suppose I should sneak into the workshop and study the items more in-depth as well as steal some books on magic and magical items.

Status.

From Teyrin’s point of view, I’ve lived for almost two millennia, huh. I wonder what they’d say if they met me. A human that’s thousands of years old yet only has memories of two decades. Scratch that, one decade is more accurate.

Guess they’d be pretty disappointed. At least I’d expect someone with ancient wisdom.

Though saying that, Ezme is thousands of years old from the perspective of Earth, and even more from other worlds'. Yet she doesn’t seem like she is. Maybe angels develop slower or something?

Amara navigated the screen to open up her class options.

I got my first available combat class. But it’s not exactly what I’m looking for, if I even can call the brawler class a combat one.

Maybe I should see if the mortals have a book with a list of classes? If I steal a book that tells me what classes there are, as well as the requirements for them, maybe I’d make good progress.

“Ezme?” Amara called out.

“Hmm?” Ezme looked up from the other side of the room. Ezme had been curious in how tea and coffee was made, so Amara explained and Ezme had begun experimenting to make them both a cup of coffee.

“Mortals keep records of classes and their requirements right? Do you know where to find them?” Amara prodded.

“Well yes, and I do, but…” Ezme hesitated.

“Then there will be two versions of it, a public and a confidential one yes? And the confidential ones should be kept somewhere safe, like royal or temple treasuries and archives, right?” Amara smiled.

“That would be an accurate assumption I suppose.” Ezme replied.

“Then that’s enough.” Amara sat up and looked at Ezme. “How’s it going?”

“It’s going great! I think I managed!” Ezme beamed. “Want to try it?”

“Absolutely.” Amara smiled.

Aah, this is life. How it’s supposed to be.

Ezme had made a terrible first attempt at making coffee, as she had no clue that the ratio between coffee and water used would affect the taste. Amara had instantly spurted it out as it became far too strong.

Amara watched Ezme turn and bring two steaming cups of coffee with her. Amara smiled, until she noticed Ezme had made a grievous mistake. One she couldn’t overlook.

“No. No. No.” Amara said sternly.

“W-what? Did I do something wrong?” Ezme asked anxiously as she stopped.

“I’m going to be lenient with you as you want to learn. However, if you are going to learn, you need to learn right. Now, what did you pour the coffee in?” Amara asked as she cocked her head.

Ezme looked down at the cups in her hands before she asked. “...Cups?”

“Yes. But those are tea cups.” Amara stated.

“...Does it make a difference? Cups are meant to be drank from, regardless of content.” Ezme asked as she tilted her head.

“Of course it makes a difference! Coffee cups for coffee, tea cups for tea! It’s in the name!” Amara retorted.

“But I like the look of these more.” Ezme pouted.

“Oh. I see. Yes. I suppose I should go and hang out with Sophelia instead because I like the look of her big wings then?” Amara said with an evil grin.

“W-wha-what are you saying?!” Ezme asked in a panic.

Victory shall be mine.

“You wouldn’t like that either now, would you?” Amara smiled wryly.

“Of course n- I don’t care! Don’t say such things, you already made your choice! You can only ask for advice from me!” Ezme shouted.

Ah, victory’s in sight.

“Well I can come to you for advice, and otherwise be with Sophelia, right?” Amara smiled sadistically.

“Hng!...” Ezme bit her lip and looked like she was about to cry.

Nawh. Poor thing thought I was serious.

“So, coffee cups are used for…?” Amara asked.

“...Coffee.” Ezme said dejectedly.

“And tea cups?” (Amara)

“For tea.” (Ezme)

“Good. I’ll forgive you this once. You will learn eventually that the experience will be different based on cups.” Amara smiled.

As Ezme sat next to her on the bed and they both drank coffee, they sat in silence as Ezme had a depressed look on her face.

“You can’t enjoy coffee with such a troubled mood, Fluffles. Cheer up.” Amara said kindly.

Ezme inclined her head as she held her cup.

“...You won’t choose Sophelia instead of me, will you?” Ezme eventually asked hesitantly.

Amara smiled brightly and reached out and stroked Ezme’s warm feathers. “Of course not.”

Complete victory. You're mine now, Fluffles.
