4th Sukurach of Meruriel 1205

Petrasha's POV

Today is the day where Lucy will start to bring my messages towards the other continents, starting from eh Yskrasidria Continent. The dryads there should listen to her if she showed them my badge anyways. Handling international affairs are something I never wanted to do again. But to think that Paelisher used that as my test for the second rank council... that is truly mean of him.

" So nee-san, Christine never came out since then?" I asked Lucy-nee. Ever since that outbreak I had with Christine, she just starts locking herself in her room. Only coming out to grab the food that we placed in front of her door. She just never came out of her room. During the first few days, we didn't put anything there, we just called her to come down and eat together, but she didn't come down nor did she even respond! We then get worried and went to check on her, but she either doesn't respond, or just answer simple answers like OK, sure, no, and the such. Was I too hard on her? 

" Don't worry, Petry. She is just thinking about the stuff that I told her to. It's just I never expected her to take this long. Or maybe she already thought of an answer but needs time to gather the strength to tell you that." Lucy-nee is really calm in these kinds of situations. As expected of one who had many siblings in both lives. But I'm really worried about Christine, she was normally so hyperactive, for her to cool down like this is very... strange. Though it's not like it's the first time she activated sleep mode in this world...

" Speaking of which, are you sure you want to go alone Lucy-nee, I can send some guards with you, even though this world is very peaceful, you would never know what would happen next," I said towards Lucy-nee, what I said is true, what if the gods suddenly have another plan for us, we would never know.

"It's ok, in these 2 weeks I had a lot of training with your dwarven generals. I now not only had elven combat training but also dwarven ones. I'm sure I would be able to fight off normal enemies. Though I'm damn sure if a dragon wanted to eat me I wouldn't be able to defeat it! If that happens ill just run, OK? There's no need to have such a worried face you know, you should smile more, I'm sure you would be cuter with a smile Petry~" Lucy said while giving me a warm smile.

" You know, sometimes it's times like this that we don't have to worry about Christine, she might be like useless garbage at most of the times, but she might shock you in a way that no one would expect you to know. I'm sure if you give her some time, she would open up and come out again. Let's just hope it wouldn't be as long as I would need to use to explore the three continents and come back here." Lucy said.

" You know, maybe you shouldn't go to Kesintorr alone, I think that when you are going to that continent, come back here and we will go together. We would have to equip proper equipment to go there." I said. Kesintorr sometimes can be very random, a day ago it would be full of volcanic ash everywhere, but a day later it's winter with snow, not volcanic winter. So unless you are prepared for the totally random weather there, it's best to not let Lucy-nee to explore there alone.

" Well I guess that is fine too, I will be sure to come back and bring my new cute little imouto to go and adventure together," Lucy-nee said as she gave me a big hug. 

" Don't worry~ It's not like I won't be back for a long time," Lucy said.

" That's a big red flag there you know," I said with a slight pout.

" Then I shall strike down that flag. Take care of yourself ok? Don't overwork yourself, you're only sleeping for a few hours per day these two weeks. Take a good rest day tomorrow ok? I am thankful that you wanted to rush my gear but I don't want it to damage your health. Even if are not as fragile as humans now, if we just continue to abuse our bodies, we would still have an early death." Lucy said. Another one telling me to not rush things. Am I really rushing things that much, I just want us to live a nice life you know?

" Anyways go call Christine for the last time... if she doesn't respond then ill be on my way," Lucy said.

I stand up and went to Christine's room. She hasn't taken her food for today... Just what is she doing?

" Christine, Lucy is going to the other continents today, you sure you don't want to say goodbye to her? If you don't you might need to wait for a few years until she is back you know." I said, adding extra info in order to convince her to get out of the room. I know Lucy won't be gone for so long, but this is Christine we are talking about, if I don't exaggerate things she might not take me seriously.

" Tell her to stay safe," Christine replied from inside the room.

" How about you come to tell her yourself? It's better if the person herself said that you know," please Christine, just come out...

" No thanks," is all she said before it went all quiet again.

...

Guess only me then...

I went back downstairs and look at Lucy with saddened eyes.

" So she still doesn't want to come out huh," Lucy said which I gave a nod.

" Can't be helped, well let's go then. It's better if I don't waste any more time waiting for something that won't come," Lucy said with a sad voice.

Lucy then started to pack up her stuff into her infinity storage. All of the food, gear, even her money are vanishing one by one into her infinity storage. Lastly, I gave her one last thing.

" This is a prototype on the Long Range ManaCom, how long does it affect I don't know, but all I know is that it will be very mana hungry, so we probably won't be able to call each other for long times. Just remember my code and you should be able to connect to me directly." I said to her.

" Yeah, your code is pretty easy to remember. It's the Konami Code but in numbers right?" "Yeah..." I replied

" I expect you to one day being able to make computers, then we would be able to play games again," Lucy said.

" Guess I should try to work harder then since it's my nee-san's request," I said. 

" You cheeky little girl, don't overdo it OK, it took humans on Earth a long time to developed our current computer technology there. I don't really expect you to make it within my traveling time you know. Plus you have those old dwarves to worry about. Focus on your current goals, we could go at it later when we all are here, its best to have 6 minds focusing on one thing that we all know after all." Lucy said.

" Yeah... " I said, I don't know what else to say in this awkward situation. Within these two days, I can feel us two gettings much closer compared to back on Earth, its as if we are actual sisters, and I don't actually want her to leave now... I want her to pat me when I'm sad or frustrated... But knowing that she will leave for one or two years is making me really sad...

" Well, thank you for accompanying me this far, we are near the gates already. I promise ill be back soon ok," Lucy said.

Without saying anything, I start hugging Lucy, and my tears start coming out of my eyes.

" There there, don't worry, it's not like I'm gone forever, I will be back, I promise. Maybe I will even meet them on my journey and I could then bring them all back together! Won't it be a huge reunion then?" Lucy said to assure me nothing is wrong, but my tears just won't stop...

"It's ok, cry as much as you want, let your emotions out," Lucy said, which then I cried, I cried a lot... while Lucy-nee just calmly pats my back...

After 10 minutes or so, I stopped crying, and I let go of Lucy.

" See you soon Petrasha," she said. " See you soon Lucy-nee," I replied.

Looking Lucy go is a bad feeling. I don't want her to go, but then it is me who requested her to go to the other continents for this job. I already did my best to not beg her to not go...

Well at least at home I have a useless garbage called Christine to take care of....

Christine, just what are you doing right now.

After reaching home, I went to check on Christine's door, she has taken her food huh, just when...

I knocked on her door, hoping to get some reactions, but... the moment I knocked on the door, its not closed properly...

Christine couldn't have ran away right?

I opened the door with my shaking hands, and what I saw inside, was a clean bedroom, one that doesn't look like a slump like Christine would have.

" Christine?" I said...

" MAIDS," I yelled out and they rushed towards me.

" Where did Christine went?" I said.

" We don't know... Pam said she say the door open on its own and when she went to check, Miss Christine is already not inside." One of the maids answered while the one named Pam nodded.

...

" So you hated me until you left on your own huh..." I said quietly while crying. I can feel the maids comforting me... but but... it's not the person I wanted to comfort me.... Lucy-nee... I'm sorry.

Paelisher's POV

" So why are you here, miss elf, shouldn't you be with Petrasha right now?" I asked the young elf, I believe Christine is her name.

" I wanted to prove I am not useless to her... but if I stay there, she would only treat me like I'm useless." She said. Then why are you here then?

" So what do you want to do now, you know I don't know how girls feel right? I am a guy and have lived for thousands of years without a wife or kids. And I'm sure that what you did this time, would cause Petrasha to be quite heartbroken you know. Leaving without saying anything. If lucky, she might think you are just going out for a change in environment, but what if she takes it the bad way, what if she thinks you are abandoning her." I said to the elf.

" I... didn't think of that way..." the elf said. Kids these days... doing things impulsively... but I guess its what make them kids huh, they just want to do whatever they wanted to do. Well, that's fine too.

" So what do you want me to help you with?" I asked the elf.

" I heard bards are professions that sings about tales right? Are there singers here? Those that specifically sings not just tales but songs of various genres and types?" the elf asked. Songs huh, hmmm, not many dwarves are interested in singing since most of us have rough voices, even females have deep voices that aren't suitable for singing. Most bards are mostly the elves or the beastkin race. Sirens are sometimes good bards too. But what do you sing if you aren't singing about tales or folklore?

" Do you also have musical instruments? If yes what type?" this girl sure just do what she wants huh.... if a normal person tried to literally question me like this, the guards would have arrested them.

" Well us dwarves have mostly drums, I heard the elves have the flute, for the beastkin I don't really know since they don't really play many instruments. Demons are too busy in the daily work that they don't really have that much entertainment. Dryads well, they don't need entertainment at all." I explained to her.

" Lord Paelisher, would you help me to create a band?" the elf asks... " Explain what a band is.... Earthen terms are not familiar here. You are talking with a native dwarf. Not a reincarnator like Petrasha you know, young elf." I said...

" Oh, a band is a sort of like a group of singers and performers who would sing and play with musical instruments on top of a stage for people to listen to." the elf said.

" So it's basically a group of bards that not only sing but also play instruments. And you wanted me to help you create such a band." I said.

" Yes... please... I want to prove to Petrasha that I also can do something. Back on Earth, I can sing a lot of songs so I'm sure that I could do the same here too. The past few days I have been testing my voices to make sure I can still sing here." the young elf said. Well if you have such dedication, it wouldn't be bad to assist you. But it's best if you choose other people rather than me. I'm tone-deaf after all...

" I'll ask one of the elders to assist you, he was once a bard and might be interested in this band of yours. If all goes right then we could have a new form of entertainment that isn't just beer and ale. For the time being, ill let you live in one of my unused manors, just remember to clean it yourself. Do you understand young elf." I said towards her. I'm sure that elder Rebroff would be interested in this.

" Thank you Lord Paelisher..." the elf said. I called an assistant to bring her to my unused manor and told them to bring Elder Rebroff to her tomorrow. Let's hope that she can work hard to make Petrasha shocked. This would be fun. Hrmmm, so this old bones also know when things are fun too huh. Only time will tell.
