“Wh, what happened?”

“Relic of Peace. That’s the name of the magic you just did.
It is a 2 nest spell. A nest, is like a, stage of sort. The first nest sends
out high energy magic waves, of multiple umerivees, in order to nullify magic.”

“Umerivees?”

“Oh, sorry. Ah, consider it like, using an entire ocean to
extinguish a fire. The waves here are of different...uh, say directions. So
there will always be many many directions to go against if you are a spell.
Since, magic spells only have one direction. You will be successful, but the
amount of resources used will be extraordinary. That’s what is happening here.
Our communications were cut so we don’t know how big a radius was affected, but
every magical equipment would no longer work. That’s why the lights went off.
Till the time the spell doesn’t dissipate, no one can use magic.”

“I, I see. Isn’t that like really bad? Like everything
stops. People can get hurt. Accidents may happen!” I said.

“That brings us to the second nest. The nest we haven’t been
able to analyse till now. The second nest causes every object placed in this
spell, to have infinite health.”

“Huh?”

“Yes. Not just living, non living too. Nothing can harm
anything during this. Hence the name, Relic of Peace.”

“That’s amazing. Magic can do all sorts of things.”

“No, Flare. Magic can’t. Love can. Magic has boundaries,
limitations. Laws. Practically, we can never have enough energy to make a Relic
of Peace for our self. It utilises lots of energy. But Maagical Girls, you are
infinite sources of energy. You can do whatever you want. Together, Flare,
together, we can cure diseases, and even bring world peace!”

“Uh, me? I, I really can’t do such a thing.”

“Why though?”

“Well, I..am not really that special, and all, and, well,
it’s really a great responsibility to handle, right?” I said chuckling to
dissipate the serious atmosphere. Fortunately, the lady accepted my advance.

“Oh, you, you don’t have to worry about that. Look at you,
you are just a girl right now, you should be enjoying school life right now.
Leave all this stuff for when you are older. Just focus on your studies now.”

“Yes!” I said, almost standing up.

“Well, you should go now. I have something to talk about
with your principal over here.”

Ms Wormwood guided me out and I collapsed as soon I stepped
out.

Well, saying collapsed wouldn’t be the best word, seeing I
actually have collapsed just yesterday. This was just, one of those moments
where you are so exhausted mentally, you no longer want to walk. Yes, it was
one of those. I leaned against the wall and let out a long sigh .

“That was, very stressful, wasn’t it?”

“It was.”

“Are you sleepy?”

“A bit hungry.”

“You had breakfast just an hour ago.”

“A second breakfast.”

“Say, you haven’t had a chance to tour the school, right?
Want to do it now?”

“Piggy back" I said, my arms stretched out.

“Just come, we can have something to eat on the way.” She
said, completely ignoring my request. Though, I didn’t really expected her to
accept it.

The school is huge. Seriously. I don’t see how anyone could
ever remember all this stuff. It’s as big as a mansion! No, more like 5
mansions combined into one. Speaking of mansions, I wonder if the owners ever
learn the floor map. In TV and all, they always show that only the butler knows
where everything is. Didn’t Vivian also has a butler? What was his name? Rufus?
No, that’s a dog name. But butlers are kinda like dogs. I once read that
butlers even iron the newspaper for their masters. Even the fact that they call
them master should  be-

“Well, Flare, do you remember the way now?” said Ms.
Wormwood.

Turns out, we were back at the breakfast hall.

“Eh, no. I forgot Ms. Wormwood.”

“Wor, worm? Its Redwood, dear. Ms. Redwood.”

“Oh, okay.” I said, immediately knowing that there is no way
I can remember that name.

“And, well. No need to rush, you will learn it soon enough.
The corridors are always confusing with all the rooms and turns and the floor
looks same where ever you go.”

“I know, right! Why is this even so big!”

“Well, this is quite a esteemed academy after all. Even the
royalty study here. You must had met them right?”

“Who?”

“Its Alex and Vivian. They are this kingdom’s first prince
and first princess respectively.”

“Ah, is that so. Well, I always kinda suspected with her
dress, but she really doesn’t act like it, right?”

“Oh, you should see her at celebrations and all. She gives
the most wonderful speeches. She also has aced every exam ever since her first
day here.”

“Wow, she really is so special. I would had never known.”

“Well, she is no longer the type to boast now.”

“No longer?”

“Oh, well, you know. In first year everyone is a bit
arrogant, thinking they are some ‘hot’ stuff and all. But everyone learns by
the time they reach second year.”

“Heeehhhh, I would love to see a bullying Vivian. It would
fit her golden hair and all.”

“Well, she does has that look, but don’t you dare say that
to her, okay? That’s a very insensitive thing to say.”

“I wasn’t really gonna. By the way, Ms...wood?”

“Redwood.”

“Isn’t it strange that only some words are different. Like,
I came from another world, but the only thing that was changed was the names of
units.”

“Well, are you really sure you are speaking your mother
tongue?”

“Eh, of course.”

“How can you be so sure? Every hero that has arrived, always
come with our language implanted in him. Or her, you know. I suppose since
proper nouns like names of unit can’t be translated, they are left like that.”

“How many humans have come till now?”

“Arrived. We use the word arrived. Or summoned. Let’s see.
There are 6 Demon Lords. Each Demon Lord require a hero. So how many heroes are
required?”

“I..am not that stupid that you need to turn it into a
question. I know basic maths. Its 6 heroes.”

“Excellent answer. You are the 6th hero. 5 others
have preceded you.”

“Why aren’t any heroes included in the exceptions?”

“Ah, that. Heroes are, well. It’s not really a surprise that
they are strong, you know. Like, they are chosen by the Gods. It would be an
exception if a weak hero ever appears.”

“I see. Haha. That’s funny.”

“Nervous?”

“Its a huge responsibility.”

“No one said you have to do it alone. You can march the
whole school if you want. We can defeat the demon king together.”

“Miss.”

“Hm? What is it?”

“What is 6 moeniar?”

“That, is a time. By the way, your pronunciation was
impressive. Really. Who told you about that?”

“Its a unit of time?”

“Yes. Moeniar is. When the hands of clock make a vertical
straight line.”

“No. That doesn’t make any sense!” I said trembling. I don’t
know why I was speaking those words. It just happened. My hands shook and my
face felt hot. I don’t know what’s happening, but somethings wrong. I feel
strange. My body feels like its churning. My stomach feels so bloated, as if I
would throw up.

“Ms. Rosary.” I said weakly.

“Yes?” she said with a worried look on her face, ready to
catch me.

“Moeniar is called hour in my world.”

“Okay.”

“Then why...” I said before dozing off.

In darkness, I could not see. Only feel. A grin. A whisper.
A “The translations are wrong.” A “Flare! Flare! Wake up!”

I opened my eyes. The sun still seemed to be at the same
place. In front of me was Ms. Rosenwood's face. She had a glass of water in her
hand.

“Are you okay? Do you need anything?”

“I am a bit hungry.”

“Oh, yes. Sorry. I am so sorry we forgot about it. Can you
stand up?”

“Ah, don’t worry about me, I am perfectly fine.”

“What do you mean it’s fine! This is the second time you
have fainted!”

“Don’t worry about that. It’s normal.” I lied. “Its just
something that happens when I am hungry.”

“Are you sure it’s normal?”

“Yes, it used to happen all the time in my previous world.”
I said while giving a fake smile.

“Let’s cancel today’s tour. I’ll send your lunch to your
room. You should go and sleep.”

“Ok, I will. By the way, what is the time right now?”

“Its 6 and a half moeniar.”
