Guys I feel very betrayed right now. -_- I thought that the image function doesn't work for Google Photos so I decided to use Imgur, and what do you know. It doesn't work either. So this is the best that I could do for now. Sorry if this seems a little bit anticlimactic but yeah, is the photo upload here broken or not? I need to know but yes. Here it is! On the links.

By the way the images shown at the drawings are not actually their outfits in the story, just a kind of concept. Plus these drawings are old so yeah I plan to redo them again right now actually.

the characters have wayyyyyy to many details....
medieval clothes usually only have simple design. The ornaments might be gaudy, but not the dress itself....
Popular fantasy medieval setting usually still use simple design, yet unique or fancy. they still stick to "three colors rule".....

  @VictorDoUrden I'm certainly no expert in clothing or fashion. But I have taken quite a few art classes. One thing that has been drilled into me is that certain color combinations - complementary colors - clash in a way that is unpleasant to the human eye. Depending on the shades and how it is used, it can even cause eye strain or a headache.

First off just wanna say, I am masterful at drawing stickmen. That is the extent of my artistic abilities.

Now, just wanna say, might have nightmares from seeing the two images. 1st one's forehead looks like its distorted, and Mary/Maria just gives me the creeps, can easily imagine Mary being the creepy crazed murderer in a horror film who you just see in flashes.

Again, i cant draw anything near that. Just wanted to say how they looked/felt to me. They are still a hundred times better than what I could do unless if they were stick figures. Then I win. Im dam bomb at stick figures.

Reminds me of Tim Burton or Alice: Madness Returns.

Gotta work on those faces, and the both of them could use a little less detail. Its kinda hard to see Mori's silhouette with all those daggers and belts.

Remember, she's actually gotta walk in that getup.

Otherwise, its a good starting point. Polish em up and they'll be good to go.

@Chaaruzu_Corner you should re draw them, maybe add a picture of Gabril, Itia, and Kumo on an adventure in the city! (put less details on their clothes and equipment, it distracts from the actual character and the rest of the drawing)

A book cover can either draw in potential readers or drive them away to look elsewhere. It is a shame, but many people actually do judge a book by the cover - intentionally or not. After all, the cover art is the very definition of a first impression. It's what people see first when they are just browsing and trying to decide what they should read next.

Do you have experience doing paintings or full-colored art (as compared to, say, stuff like pencil and ink)? If not, have you considered paying a small fee to an amateur artist for a book cover commission? Many writers do this, even for amateur works.

A good place to start is looking on the DeviantArt website. Commissioning for custom art is a rather common thing for artists on DeviantArt, including for book covers. Some artists charge quite a bit, but some are quite reasonable.

Another option might be to download some 3D rendering or animation software like DAZ Studio 3D, try to learn how to use it and download some free 3D models and 2D assets to pose some characters and backgrounds. You would not believe the sheer volume of 3D content and models that can be obtained for free, if you have patience and know where to look. (Though, admittedly, most of the stuff in the DAZ store is expensive.)

I judge by what the writer write to describe the story

as I see it if the writer cant describes his own story then I dont want to read

Just because I dont want doesn't mean I dont

I believe heavily in the dont judge a book by the cover

but something there some book that have bad descriptions but is well written

I honestly don't know why people have complained so much here about the character art. Highly detailed line art is not something as weird or unique as they have made it out to be. The issue, really, is just balancing the negative and positive spaces here. Basically, if your subject doesn't have any 'white spaces' within them, then the eye doesn't know what to look at. You need to decide what you want the eyes to focus on. Theres probably better terms for this, but it's been way too many years since I've taken any college art classes to remember lol. Overall, I'd say yes, it could use a bit of reworking but still looks quite good. Good work, keep going, and keep experimenting!

About to start reading your story. Looking forward to it
