“Elise’s mind ends up all over the place and she starts messing up constantly!” Normki nodded in agreement.
“Elise is very emotional so it made sense not to tell you anything… Yawn…” Lana said while yawning.
“At the time we didn’t think that him becoming the Guild Master would have caused the dissolution of our party. I didn’t think it was a good idea to tell you about that asshole or that Rachel was leaving, because I know that you would have worried about us more than the quest you were taking. I am your teacher, so I know you like the back of my hand!” Runa said with pride.

Both Normki and Runa had some extremely serious expressions… They were trying to remember what they saw.
“We decided to follow them around, and we found them threatening the owners of brothels and bars of the red-light district. And before you ask, they are not thugs… Those guys are way too organized for that… We found at least a dozen of those guys the night we followed them.” Selk looked at Runa.
“We eventually managed to find their hideout. It was extremely well guarded. Even the knights would have a hard time going in there.” Runa added.
I looked at Laura who was nodding with a bitter smile.
“We did see that asshole coming out of that building.” Normki said with confidence.
I see… So the Guild Master is linked with an organized group that extorts brothels and bars… Got it.
“That was more or less, when I learned about all this. Alma told me everything when the first murder occured.” Laura said with a serious expression. It was strange seeing her like that.
“Murder!? Are you saying that the asshole killed someone!? Who did he kill!?” Elise stood up with an outraged expression.
“No one you know personally. It was a goblin kid from the slums.” Laura said while looking at me.

“And just to be clear, we are not actually sure it was him…” Lana added.
“According to what Laura and Rob told us, the body was in a terrible and unrecognizable state.” Alma said while she closed her eyes and prayed.
“We need to bring him to justice! We need to go to the higher ups of the Guild!” Elise shouted with anger.
I was feeling just like Elise… I was clenching my fists with indignation.
“We can’t… He’s a noble, so he’s basically untouchable. Not to mention that he has those hooded assholes protecting him as well…” Selk said with a pained expression.
“Things just started going from bad to worse in the next few weeks… More and more demihumans were being killed in horrible ways and there were absolutely no clues…” Laura cleared her tears.
“Well, even without the murders, the guy started doing some questionable maneuvers on the Guild while Rachel was here. He started sending some adventurers on higher ranked quests even though they were extremely dangerous for them. When they returned because they abandoned the quest, he made them pay exorbitant reparations to the guild out of their own pocket.” Runa said while analyzing the situation.
“He also started sending us to complete simple compulsory requests within the city… We had so little time that we couldn’t even take common quests…” Alma said with a disapproving expression.
“So, a murderer, a creep and an extortionist? Is there something I’m missing?” Elise’s blood was boiling.
Normki nodded with sadness.
“We couldn’t talk with Rachel at all… She was always too busy teaching the asshole how to do her job...” Normki explained.
“I still don’t believe that she got a promotion so suddenly…” Lana was completely awoken now. Her sleepy expression was nowhere to be seen.
“Elise, what was the last thing she told you when you called to report the deaths of those two?” Selk asked.
“Ah…” Elise seemed a bit shocked.
She fell deep in thought before she opened her mouth again.
“I don’t remember much… She was yelling a lot at me… But I do remember her saying something along the lines of: ‘Are you going to cause trouble even when I’m gone?’ I didn’t think much of it then, but now it makes sense…” Elise nodded.
“I see…” Lana closed her eyes and started rubbing her chin.

Selk, Lana, Runa and Normki all nodded in agreement.
“I heard that Sandra and Alan were getting some problematic adventurers under them as well.” Runa added.

“Those adventurers must be related to the hooded individuals and Leon.” I said while thinking out loud.
Everyone but Elise nodded.
“Yeah, we think that those problematic adventurers are the hooded individuals.” Laura said with confidence.
“A week ago, I decided to investigate our new Guild Master once and for all… I had to go to my contact in the dark market… I almost had to sell my body for the information, but it was worth every Yutz.” Selk said without a single trace of shame.
“S-Selk!? Please tell me you’re kidding!” Elise seemed a bit outraged.
“Do you see me laughing? That’s how serious this situation is…” Selk said with a depressed expression.
“The asshole was also trying to seduce all of us by any means necessary. We were already giving him short replies by that point, but he was getting annoying. He was also asking a lot about you and your mother.” Lana said to Elise.
“That fucker! If he even tries something with my mother I will castrate him!” Elise screamed with anger.
