Hey, it's me again... This annoucement will be short and quick. Basically, I'm going on hiatus for the time being. I'm also going to reduce the amount of weekly chapters from 3 to 2 when I come back (note: I might also have to reduce it to just one)... The reason for my hiatus? Well, I have two.
1) I have been feeling really burned out lately about this story and I genuinely been a bit blocked on how to proceed with it.
2) Thanks to my job and schedule. A lot of things in my personal life are getting on the way of writing chapters...
Now... For how long will this hiatus last? For now, I planned a one week hiatus to recharge my batteries. I could possibly go on a two week hiatus if I don't feel ready.
As for the reduction of weekly chapters, writing three chapters a week while you're unemployed was an easy task, but now that I'm working, that amount might be a bit out of reach for me... As you know, My chapters average word count is 3k words; this amount will be increased a bit if I reduce the amount of chapters (think of 1k or 2k more words).
Another thing, I'm thinking of dropping the usual schedule of Mon-Wed-Fry because it conflicts with my actual real life schedule...
This is very unfortunate. I am very disappointed that I cannot write as I'm used to, but that's life sadly. You cannot live out of air...
I'm sorry, that's how things will be for now...
Firstly, thanks for keeping us up to date! You don't know how much readers appreciate it to know that something isn't simply dropped without any further notice.
Second take as much time as you need but please keep us updated every now and again, it truly means a lot to know that the author is still alive and might come back after they're done with whenever they're dealing with!
But don't feel pressured to release chapters. If you can't release for a month or so it's honestly fine, just tell us beforehand and that we can expect you to disappear for a while.
That's understandable. I will do that, thank you.
Yes so many authors for stories I used to read have up and dropped what they had without even a word and I still wonder if some of them are even alive, would rather not add you to that list Godly.
It's cool, just don't disappear.
No need to be sorry. Take the time you need to get things together. Trying to force it to work when it clearly won't isn't going to help anything. You gotta handle your life first.
Thank you very much.
do what you have to do man. also thanks for keeping us informed.
Thank you for understanding
Most people just drop out and that’s it thanks for the heads up and go take care of yourself
Thank you for understanding m8.
Maybe try writing a shorter story that is different from this one. That might help you clear some of the blockages. Something that you don't have to take too seriously (so no massive myth arc with hidden elements pulling all the strings). A different genre would also be good to shake things up.
Random example: Early Martian colonists have to deal with newly discovered little green men type aliens that were hibernating underground. The aliens are friendly and the story follows the hijinks of the first mixed high school class. Edit: Also add a few magical girls tot the mix just for the heck of it.
OHHH please do that I'd even pay for a story like that from you and it would help with writers block. My grandmother told me once she had Stephen king give her a 3k word short story, she said it was about a talking dog that told dumb knock knock jokes. Not something you'd think of from the king of horror, Though I do wish she had saved it, as he only let her read it not keep it.
Thanks for the heads up good luck with the job
Well thanks for the heads up. I hope the release rate goes back to 3 at some point. Rest well for now
Chill and recoup. Thanks for the update!
