Chapter 77: Sabaody Archipelago

"Tell me, son, is there any girl you are interested in?"

"..."

"I bet there is. When I was your age I was quite the handsome young man. Of course, there were many girls that wanted to get in a relationship with me, but I just chose your mother because she was the most beautiful of all of them!"

"Don't lie, I was the only one that even talked to you. The others did not even acknowledge your presence, you were quite average after all..."

"Come on honey, not in front of our son! I want to look cool in front of him"

"But it's the truth after all. You shouldn't lie to your son whom you have met for the first time in many years"

"Sorry honey..."

"..."

They were quite the peculiar couple, I must say... Not that it was enjoyable to listen to them talk incessantly while I'm on guard of the prison... Rather it was tiring...

"So, is there any daughter-in-law that we have yet to hear about?" My father, who was talking to my mother until now, elbowed me from across the bars and looked at me with an inquisitive expression.

"If you don't shut the fuck up I will rip that tongue out of your mouth right now" I gave him a cold look in hopes that he could finally shut up. But unfortunately, it seemed that this guy barely minded it.

"Look honey, our son has the same sharp tongue that you have when you get angry! Hahaha!" He turned to look at my mother and laughed heartily when he mentioned something about my sharp tongue.

"What did you say fucker? Do you want me to crush your balls right now?" But it seemed that she got angry when he said that.

"Sorry"

Leaving these people aside, the ship was just a few minutes from disembarking in Sabaody Archipelago, so this suffering was bound to end in just a few minutes more... fortunately...

But for the time being...

"Tell me, son, don't you want your father to tell you how to get as strong as him? Look at these muscles! Just these babies have decimated dozens of marines with ease!"

*Sigh...*

"Stop talking to me"

A few minutes later, Aveir and I were finally allowed to leave our posts so that we could start packing all our things to disembark at Sabaody Archipelago. It wasn't long before both of us were already off the ship walking towards the marine headquarters of this island in order to receive our orders.

Aveir seemed to be taking furtive glances at his surroundings from time to time... More specifically, to the beautiful women that were walking around.

However, right when I was about to ask him about it, we both heard an enormous explosion coming from behind us.

*BOOOOOM!!!*

When we looked back, we both saw that the marine ship where we were staying a few minutes ago, was now completely engulfed in flames and had been almost completely destroyed by the explosion.

Fortunately, most of the marines there had left to buy provisions in the nearby cities a few minutes ago. And those that stayed in the ship were pretty much uninjured as far as I could tell.

I might have been curious about the reason why did it suddenly explode. But the answer came pretty fast when I heard some shouts coming from that direction.

"No one can catch the duo of Bad-eyed Pirates!!! Right honey?!" The excited voice of my dad echoed around, while the exhasperated shushing sound of my mother came a bit after.

*Groan...*

I groaned in an annoyed tone, while Aveir looked at me with a bit of pity in his eyes.

"You have quite the peculiar parents Sid..."

"Don't talk to me about it... Let's go, we are going to arrive late at this rate..."

"Shouldn't we make sure no one is injured after that explosion?"

"Nah, they are going to be fine"

"Hmm... If you say so... Let's go my Friend Sid!"

I wonder how did this guy manage to change so much...? He was quite the asshole before... Hmm... Whatever, he is a lot nicer than before. So I guess it's fine either way.

*Yawn...*

But this situation could be a lot better if I could take a small nap right now...

Let's hope I can rest properly on the remaining time before the main event starts...

In another part of Sabaody Archipelago...

"Woah!! There are so many bubbles!!" Luffy, who was looking into the distance, yelled in astonishment after seeing the otherworldly appearance of Sabaody Archipelago. Chopper, Usopp, and Brook who were observing next to him gasped in shock as well while looking at the distance with widened eyes.

Hatchan, an old enemy of the straw-hats that worked for Arlong a few months ago, was now riding with them as a friend and an ally because of some circumstances that happened not long ago.  The objective of the crew was to find a mechanic that could apply a special coating to their ship so that they could travel towards the Gyojin-Island without problems, and luckily, Hatchan happened to know one that was very good at it. 

Camie the siren, and Pappaku the starfish, both tagged along as they happened to know Hatchan, and also felt a lot of gratitude towards the straw-hat crew. Thus, they decided to follow them and help them get to know Sabaody Archipelago. Even if it was incredibly dangerous for them to be there...

Robin and Nami, on the other hand, just looked with a hint of curiosity in their eyes at the island. Especially when both of them noticed several cities across the strange-looking island.

However, Hatchan then explained that the Sabaody archipelago was not an island, but a set of giant trees that had enormous roots below them. The roots were so big, that they even allowed people to build small cities on top of them.

Everyone gasped in surprise after hearing this. This was something very amazing after all. However, while all of them were still processing what they just heard, suddenly Usopp noticed a certain burning marine ship in the distance.

"Oi, look at that!! What the heck happened there?!"

When they heard Ussop's voice, all of them turned to look in the direction of the burning ship with an expression of surprise on their faces. But before any one of them could say a thing, suddenly Sanji noticed a small boat moving in their direction at great speed.

"Everyone, there's a boat that is coming towards us!" Sanji narrowed his eyes and pointed directly at the incoming boat that moved at an incredibly fast speed in their direction.

"Were the people on that boat the ones that destroyed that ship?!!" Usopp hid behind the mast and looked fearfully at the small boat as if he was looking at a monster.

Nami, who was looking carefully at the incoming boat with squinting eyes, managed to spot at least 6 people standing on top of the boat. However, surprisingly none of them looked that powerful, and instead, all of them looked quite average... Except for a couple that had a certain feeling of familiarity that she couldn't help but notice right away.

The man had a very prominent frown that made one wonder whether he was angry at the woman or not, while the woman was just smiling cheerfully while driving the boat in their direction. But the thing she couldn't help but notice was that both of them had beautiful reddish-brown eyes that resembled a lot those eyes of the young marine he met a few months ago at Arabasta.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, but the feeling of familiarity was still there.

Soon, however, all the straw-hat crew noticed that the boat was not aiming to go towards them, but was coincidentally going in that direction to seemingly escape from the disaster they have made back at the marine ship. This made Usopp and Chopper sigh in relief, while Luffy just looked a bit confused at what had happened.

Soon, however, when the ship passed next to them, the straw-hat crew managed to hear some of the conversations that the people on the boat were having.

"I feel rather sad to just leave Sid once again, even after we finally met after these many years..." The woman, who looked slightly sad (although not that much) shook her head in disappointment while looking back at the dock where the destroyed ship lied unmovingly.

"Don't worry honey. If he is lucky, then he inherited my valiant and independent character. I doubt our disappearance really affected him, and in the worst case, we can just visit him someday... If we are not dead that is... Hahaha!!" The man, despite the frown on his face, laughed heartily at his own words. However, he was soon punched in the head by the woman and started crying in pain pitifully.

"Don't say such depressing things! But you are right, we can just visit him someday in the future. And maybe that day we will have already a daughter-in-law..."

"As expected of my son!" The man laughed once again and then turned to look at the ones who seemed to be his crewmates.

However, at that point, the boat was already too far away from the Thousand Sunny, and none of the straw-hats was able to hear what they were talking about anymore.

"What a strange bunch of people..." Zoro just raised an eyebrow after the people left, before he went back to sleep.

Usopp, Chopper, and Brook just looked at each other for some seconds, before both of them simply shrugged their shoulders and went back to talk to Hatchan to ask things about Sabaody Archipelago.

Nami, on the other hand, just raised an eyebrow seeing that his suppositions were indeed right. And by the look of it, these people seemed to be the parents of that always frowning guy. 

Furthermore, judging by their conversation, it seemed that guy was actually somewhere in Sabaody Archipelago.

'The world is really tiny, huh?' Nami just shook her head for a second, before she then turned to look at Hatchan once again and also started hearing every piece of information he was sharing with them.

If that guy is really somewhere around there... Then who knows? Maybe she might get to meet him later... 

Maybe at that time, she can ask for the thousand bellys he owes her...
