Chapter 19

On the most grandiose resting palace, the moans and excited yet languid breaths of lust seeps through the silk curtains of the bed. A silhouette of two people overlapping was reflected on the thin silk canopy, the man on top could be seen starting to move with haste. Quick and violent movements rock the body beneath with every thrust. The flickering orange light from the burning candles that doesn’t seemed to ever burn out adds to the ambiguous scene within the room.

“Nnn, ahh—Yo—Your highness—“A delicate woman moans incessantly.

The man doesn’t say anything, he only clasps the woman’s arms firmly. He moved solely to soak himself in the pleasure. He continues to increase the speed of his thrusts, and along with the woman’s sharp and loud moans, the scene of the carnal desires finally comes into an end.

The man drapes his clothes over his body and climbed down the bed, his expression cold as he gazes at the three assassins kneeling down before him: “How did it go?”

The three assassins didn’t have the courage to make a sound, they just bowed their head lower!

The man laughed grimly and asked: “So it was a failure?’

The assassins can’t help but shudder.

That man’s expression became distorted, he raised his foot and fiercely kick one of the assassins in the chest. After receiving a couple of blows till he started coughing blood, the assassin immediately crawled to his original spot and resumed kneeling.

“You didn’t kill your target yet you all still come back? Your highness will never feed useless people like you!”

“Your highness, forgive us lowly servants, please give us one more chance to make up for this mistake.” The three assassins plead with quivering voices.

“Better write down your highness’s words and remember it well, if you cannot bring me An Jin Yu’s head, take your own life.”

“Yes, your highness.”

———

Xi Lai is a small tavern that is said to be an establishment forty years old or more, the current owner that runs the front of the shop alone inherited it from his father. The direction to this tavern deviates from the kingdom’s public road, people with dubious business transactions and those who wants to live in seclusion find their way on this remote place far from the crowded cities!

And because it’s a secluded place with not a lot of visitors, the owner doesn’t have the need to hire an extra hand and the owner’s wife took charge of the cooking. For years, only these two middle-aged couple run the tavern by themselves.

There are some days that they don’t have any costumers yet the husband and wife doesn’t mind the idle pace and enjoys it. On off-seasons like these, every day they usually cook a few dishes and take a bottle of homemade rice wine for a drink.

This day as the night falls, they were about to close early for there weren’t any visitors, when all of a sudden, they saw three figures from afar. As those figures get closer, the couple saw three people riding horses coming their way.

“Uncle, don’t close up, we’ll stay for the night.” A male in late twenties, wearing a long green robe, and had a short beard shouted tensely.

“Don’t close it boss, don’t close it!” Two filthy kids half the size of the man cried out.

The shop keeper chuckled and said: “As a matter of fact, we have vacancy for three people!”

“Uncle, can we have something to eat first? Our belly is flattened!”

“No problem, please wait for a moment!” The shop keeper served the three of them a green tea first, then he turned around and went through a small back door over the counter. Not for long, he came out with several kinds of dishes in hand, “My wife can only cook dishes native from our hometown, I hope it will be alright with our distinguished guests.” The shop keeper explained with a chuckle.

“Smells delicious! Uncle is too humble. A fresh vegetable dish from the countryside free from contaminants is many times better than duck, chicken, and fish dishes made in the capital!”

“Boss Su, we’re hungry!” The two kids on the side calls out to him in unison with burning gazes fixed on the various dishes on the shop keeper’s hands.

“Oh, how silly of me, caught in my own chattering that I forgot the matters at hand and made these two youngsters poke fun at their big brother.” The couple promptly served the dishes and said, “Enjoy the dinner!”

“Uncle, hold on, do you have some liquor?”

“The distinguished guest requests for liquor? We do have some but the only available one we have is our homemade fermented rice wine.”

“Doesn’t matter, can you get me some?”

“Of course.” After saying that, the shop keeper went down to the cellar to fetch the liquor.

“Boss Su, I also want to drink it.” Lin Cun Shou said while gobbling up the food. That is correct, these three people were Zi Li and the twins Cun Gong and Cun Shou.

Zi Li smacked Cun Shou in the head and said: “You are too young to drink liquor!”

“But aren’t you not allowed to drink too?” Cun Shou retorted without stopping in stuffing his mouth with food.

“It’s up to me if I want to drink! Will taking one more of this make you understand?” Zi Li who is in a bad mood smacks the boy in the head again.

“Stop hitting him, you’ll turn him into an idiot!” Cun Gong comfortingly stroke his little brother’s head while speaking.

“Yeah right! That’s just a hearsay!” While on the road, Zi Li had already experienced how protective the older brother are to his younger sibling so he can only curl his lips and continue engrossing himself with eating.

After eating, the shop keeper guided them through a staircase that creaks loudly in every step towards a room with a faint smell of mold wafting on the air on the left wing of the second floor.

“This is really embarrassing but because the building is very old, it has some sort of smell.”

Now that he’s used to the problems of ants, rats, and snakes while camping in the wilderness, that despite the poor quality of the room, it is still acceptable to Zi Li.

However, the two picky Gong Shou twins complained upon smelling it: “So stinky!”

Zi Li glares at them and scolded the twins with the sharpest words he can muster.

“You guys thinks the room is smelly? Ever since I get to know you two, I haven’t seen you take a bath!”

“Hey! It-it’s for our disguise!” The twins protested.

Zi Li squinted his eyes at them and said: “If you guys wants to have a disguise, just ask me! I’m an expert at it! The smell you guys have; I’ve always have an issue with it!”

“You don’t like us?”

“To be honest, yes!”

The twins made a pained expression on their faces.

“Oh, don’t you give me that act! Take a bath now with me or I’ll ask for a different room.”——

Bonbon wanted to say:

Any guesses who that highness was?
