A few moments later the pillar disappear revealing a cute young bear cub with bright red fur with an exceptionally bright tuff of red fur on its head. Upon appearing the bear looked around nervously before running up to Jessica and hiding behind her. Despite the bear cub's cute appearance and shy actions, it was a summon nonetheless and the villagers immediately erupted in cheers when it appeared which caused it to hug Jessica's left tight and head it's face.

"This is my guardian summon. A flame bear cub." Jessica announced her face blushed in embarrassment at her summons actions.

"Great job Jessica, an excellent summon indeed. The flame bear is not an ordinary beast but a mutant elemental beast with fire elemental abilities, as a mutant beast the flame bear is a much more powerful than ordinary elemental beasts." the village head said as he examined Jessica's guardian summon.

"Thank you, village head." Jessica respectfully said.

She already knew that the name of her guardian summons after consulting her family's archives, but she didn't know that her guardian summon was a mutant beast. Mutant beasts were generally more powerful than their ordinary counterparts and the more mutations a beast or any living creature has the more powerful it was when compared to the norm.

The village head was not the only the most powerful Awakeners in the village but also the wiser at and most knowledgeable. When he was younger that village head had left the village to explore the world and only returned and became village head when he felt he had reached his limit and couldn't go any further as an Awakener.

"With the right training it could possibly become D Class magic beast equivalent to a Rank 3 or Grandmaster Awakened like me." the village head said.

"Really? Thank you, village head." Jessica excitedly said.

The village head was the only Awakened Grandmaster in the entire village and even the powerful patriarchs of the noble families were only Peak Awakened Master which were Rank 2 Awakened. For the village head to say her summon could possibly reach his level spoke volumes of its potential, not to mention the fact that as a mutant beast. Hence her summon would be more powerful than ordinary beasts of the same class who in turn were more powerful than humans of the rank.

There was also the fact that as a guardian summon the flame bear could never truly die as long as Jessica was alive. This meant if Jessica was well protected the village would have the protection of a powerful D Class being, which was the final requirement for them to become a town and officially claim dominion of the region.

"Now please place your hand on the crystal ball." the village head calmly said.

Jessica quickly unsummoned her guardian beast causing the bear cub to disappear in a pillar of fire similar to the one the accompanied its appearance much to the disappointment of the young women in the audience who were swooning over the adorable bear cub. She then quickly walked up to the crystal ball and confidently placed her hand on it.

As a summoner it didn't matter if her own talent was slightly lacking as a summoners main strength didn't come from themselves but their summons. As the owner of a mutant elemental beast, she was guaranteed to eventually become a powerhouse and receive the village's nurturing and protection.

"Jessica Grant, Summoner, Talent Grade: A!" the village head announced.

This elicited another round even more exaggerated excited cheers from the audience.

Summoners were much rare than Awakened Warriors and Elementalists, hence the possibility of a summoner appearing let alone one with even a D grade let alone a C grade talent is incredibly rare nearly nonexistent. In fact, the even Alexander Forest who had made remarkable contributions to the village and had an A grade talent was the most talented summoner that had appeared in their entire administrative zones with the last few decades.

Due to this Alexander should have gone much further as an Awakened, unfortunately his summoning attribute was support instead of combat. However, even as a support type summoner his talent shines and he had managed to elevate his village to an unprecedented level, so much so that it was on the verge of becoming a fully fledge town with the entire Evergreen Mountains as they territory.

One could only imagine how far an obviously combat type summoner like Jessica could take the village, in this world that values strength above all else. In fact, the only requirement that the village lacked in order to become a town as the presence of a Grandmaster Summoner.

"Congratulations Jessica. Would you like to become my disciple?" the village head suddenly asked with a kind smile.

Jessica looked at her further who was standing at the front of the audience with the other council members. Seeing his daughter's glance the Grant family patriarch quickly nodded his head and gestures for his daughter to quickly accept the village heads offer.

Despite being the head of one of the village's noble families her father knew that he was no match for the village head. As a Peak Rank 2 Awakened he knew just how powerful a Rank 3 being like the village head was not to mention that the village head was very knowledgeable and insightful and was the best person to train his daughter.

"Disciple greets master." Jessica said with a graceful bow.

"Hahaha! Good! Good!" the village head happily said as he motioned for Jessica to get off the stage.

"The last participant and the village's second summoner from this year's group. Aaron Forest!" the village elder announced his voice filled with anticipation.

Alexander Forest had been their village's only summoner for several decades and had contributed greatly to their development and current status. Hence, he enjoyed an extremely high reputation and was treated on the same level as the head of the noble's families. Some even believed that his family might become the next noble family to contributions before he and his family had done to the village.

His son had displayed incredible intelligence and wisdom from a young age and history had shown that those who displayed extraordinary intelligence and ability for a young age were usually had high talents as Awakened. Even if his talent is subpar as a summoner, he could still contribute to the village's development like his father had done.

However, if he managed to inherit his father's talents as well even if he ended up as a support type like his father then the village could be said to have truly reached a golden age. Unlike the ignorant villagers the village head had travelled the world extensively in his youth and knew the importance of both combat and support type summoners.

In fact, from his travels, he learned that a community could be said to properly developed until they had all the main types of Awakened namely Warriors, Elementalists and Summoners. This was especially so for the two main type of summoners namely combat types and support types, combat types to expand and defend the community and support types to develop and support the other Awakeners.

He had then highest hope for Aaron Forest amongst all the youth that had participated in this year's ceremony. The appearance of two A Grade talent from the Warrior and Elementalist types had been a very pleasant surprise and Jessica's awakening as a summoner as a pleasant shock.

If he could accept both of Aaron and Jessica as his disciples and trained them properly the villages could develop to highest that he could previously only dream of in his lifetime such as becoming a city. Which could be possible if the village had two summoners to lead the way especially if said summoners were assisted by an A grade Awakened Warrior and an A grade Elementalist with a variant element like plant. .

"Aaron Forest, please come up to the stage and show us your summon." said the village head.

Just like Jessica before him Aaron confidently walked into the stage wearing a pair of black banks and a blue shirt, looking very casual unlike the other participants who had dressed up for the occasion. However, none of the villagers seemed particularly bothered about his casual outfit and demeanor as they were used to some of his peculiarities after all these years.

Unlike the visual spectacles that was the pillar of fire that accompanied the appearance of Jessica's summon Aaron's own simply appeared with a flash of golden light. One moment Aaron was standing alone, the next there was a slightly tattered looking brown book floating with the word 'THE SUBURBAN ALMANAC' written the cover beside him. Unfortunately, as the words were in English none of, the audience could understand them and simply assumed that they runes.

"Hmm. This is a very…. interesting summon. I did encounter a few summoners with book type summons during my travel. Unfortunately, unlike regular summons such as beasts and weapons the abilities of each book type summon is usually different. I'm afraid that I can't tell you much in this respect. What I can tell you is that book type summons was usually support type although there are a few combat types. I'm afraid I can't help you much in this regard and you could have to discover its abilities yourself." The village head said as he examined Aaron's guardian summon the book.

'*Sigh*, it seems like he is a support type summoner like his father No matter as long as his talent is not too bad, he can still contribute to the village, especially with his remarkable intelligence by assisting Jessica, Ben and Olivia.' the village head thought feeling a slightly disappointed.

Although he knew the importance of support types summoners he still placed a higher importance on combat type summoners as he knew just how dangerous this world truly was and having more combat capable summoners was very important. After all who cares about develop and wealth if a settlement could not even properly defend itself.

"I'm afraid that's all I can help you with. You'll need to explore and uncover the abilities of your guardian yourself. Now please unsummon your guardian and place your hand on the crystal." the village head said motioning to the crystal ball.

Aaron quickly complied and cancelled his summon which he had instinctively learned how to do after comprehending some of the information he received from the Bonding Process during his sleep. Aaron quick willed for his summon 'THE SUBURBAN ALMANAC' to return to his body and it quickly turned into a ray of golden light and flew into his body.

Aaron then quickly walked up to the crystal ball and placed his hand on it. Unlike what he expected the crystal ball was fairly warm and fit comfortably in his hand. A moment after he placed his hand on the crystal, he felt a warm sensation traveling up his hand from the crystal ball, he quickly suppressed his instincts and left his hand on the ball.

The warm current quickly travelled up his hand and made several rounds around in his body from his hands to his hand to his feet and finally back to the crystal ball. Aaron fought his instincts and allowed the strange current run freely in his body. After a few round the warm current retreat from his body through his hand and back into the crystal ball.

When the energy left his body, he finally loosened up. The village head closet examined the crystal ball before looking at Aaron then at the ball again with an odd expression on his face.

"Place your hand on it one more time," he suddenly ordered.

Although confused about what was going on, Aaron still complied with the instruction and placed his hand on the ball once again. The process repeated itself the warm current travelled around his body and returning to the crystal ball. The village head closely examined the crystal ball then looked at Aaron with an odd expression on his face before sighing and shaking his head confusion and slight disappointment.

"Aaron Forest, Summoner, Talent Grade: Unranked Grade!" The village head announced.

One's talent simply refers to one's ability to absorb the spirit energy present in the air to strengthen themselves. Even unawakened individuals had F Grade talents as their body passively absorbed spirits energy, the only time one could have unranked talent is if their body was unable to absorb spirit energy which should be impossible.

The only reason why one couldn't be able to absorb spirit energy is due to the fact that they were born with special physiques called 'cursed physique' that rendered them unable to absorb spirit. However, individuals with this physique were usually very sickly and weak completely unlike Aaron who was very healthy and displayed remarkable intelligence.

"How can that be?" a random audience member asked.

"Is the crystal ball malfunctioning?" asked another.

"How can he have a cursed physique?"

"Yeah! He has never been sickly and even displayed a remarkable about of intelligence since childhood."

"Even if he didn't have any exceptionally talent, he shouldn't be unranked!"

"Youths with higher talent usually would indeed display characteristics that surpass the norm such as intelligence, perception, memory, strength, agility and so on. For instance, Ben Strong displayed remarkably physical prowess since a young age and turned out to be an A Grade Awakened Warrior. Or Olivia Vine who has also been beloved by animals and is said to have never been attacked by an animal even an insect being an A Grade Plant Elementalist So how did Aaron who displayed remarkable intelligence turn out to have no talent?!"

"Sigh, the bigger your hopes the bigger the disappointment." A random council members muttered to herself.

Everyone in the arena were shocked by the announcement and struggled to come to terms with its, displaying mixed reactions some were frowning, some lowering their head in discussion, some looking up with a sigh.
