"*Sigh*. Almost there, soon I'll be able to summon my first plant." Aaron said his eyes shining with excitement.

After the Awakening Ceremony he had fallen into a fairly strange state feeling a wide array of emotions ranging from excitement at becoming a summoner and gaining supernatural powers and abilities. Sadness at learning of his terrible F grade talent such basically he could probably never be able to use his new powers or become a powerhouse.

After all anyone who found themselves in a world with supernatural abilities would not only want to gain said power but explore the world and eventually become a powerhouse. Now, these dreams were shattered before he could achieve it. Although, he had gained supernatural powers by becoming a summoner he couldn't be able to use them effectively or gain the strength necessary to explore this dangerous world let alone become a powerhouse.

Feeling, confusion and curiosity when he learned that his guardian summon was something he was very familiar with, the Suburban Almanac from one of his favorite games, Plants vs Zombies. The Suburban Almanac is a book in the game containing data on all the plants the player owns and all the zombies that the player has encountered in Plants vs. Zombies.

So, one could imagine his surprise when the book appeared in this world not randomly, but his guardian summon. Aaron felt its presence in this world had something to do with his strange manner of death, after all he had been killed by lightening whiles playing the game.

Initially he had been depressed and refused to leave his room for several days but with the unceasing support of his parents he was able to quickly recover from his depression. In the following weeks his parents spent as much time with him as possible and told him everything they knew about awakeners, especially summoners in order to cheer him up.

His parent even encouraged him to join the academy and begin his training, after all his low talent didn't mean he couldn't become strong just that he would need to put in more effort. They also promised to do everything they could to find ways to help him increase his talents.

Items and natural treasure that could increase one's innate talent existed in this world they were just incredibly rare and precious. Fortunately, his parent were amongst the most powerful and influential people in the village and even if they could get the high end one, they could get some low-level talents to improve his talent.

It was around this time that he was able to finish the Bonding Process which was the last straw changed his mind and convinced him to join the academy. Every awakened be it warrior, elementalist or summoner usually gained certain gained innate ability after the awakening ceremony, some few lucky ones even got multiple.

Awakened warriors usually gained abilities related to the physical body such as enhanced strength, speed and even powerful sense such as enhanced sense of smell and hearing. On the other hand elementalist fain abilities related to the mind such as enhanced memory, spatial awareness or even more supernatural abilities such as telepath, telekinesis etc but these are much rarer.

The innate ability of summoners was usually related to their guardian summon as it is a manifestation of their soul. For instance, with a summoner's guardian summon was a weapons or beast type like a dragon they could gain an innate ability related to said summon such as increased affinity for swordsmanship of the ability to breath fire due to their summon if they had a flame related summon.

After the bonding process Aaron learned a lot about his guardian summon and his new abilities and powers as a summoner. Ordinary summoners used their powerful souls to form contracts with summons from both this world and other dimensions. They would then use their spirit energy to summon these contracted summons to do their bidding.

His summon which was 'The Suburban Almanac' special probably due its special origin as it allowed him to summon the plants from Plants vs Zombie. Unfortunately unlike ordinary summons the plants in the Suburban Almanac could not be summoned using spirit energy but rather sun just like in the game.

Plants vs Zombies is a tower defense video game developed and originally published by PopCap Games and it is the first installment in the Plants vs. Zombies series. The game involves homeowners who use a variety of different plants to prevent waves of zombies from entering their houses and "eating their brains".

In the game, players place different types of plants and fungi, each with their own unique offensive or defensive capabilities, around a house, in order to stop a horde of zombies from reaching their house. The playing field is divided into 5 to 6 horizontal lanes divided into squares, and with rare exceptions, a zombie will usually only move towards the player's house along one lane. Planting costs "sun", which can be gathered for 'free' (a bit slowly) during daytime as orbs falling from the sky or by planting certain plants or fungi such as sunflowers.

Most plants can only attack or defend against zombies in the lane they are planted in. In later levels, players can purchase upgrades with different offensive and defensive abilities. The player starts with a limited number of seed pack types and seed pack slots that they can use during most levels. The number of slots can be increased through purchases with in-game money. At the start of a level, the player is shown the various types of zombies to expect and given the opportunity to select which seed packs to take into the level. Several plants are nocturnal, such as mushrooms, having a lower sunlight cost, and are ideal for nighttime levels.

Despite knowing this Aaron faced one key problem, how the f*ck he was suppose to gather sun, this was the real world and sun doesn't fall from as the sky as it did in the game. Unfortunately just like in the game the only plant he had in his Almanac was the Peashooter, hence he couldn't gather sun by planting sun producing plants such as the Sunflow.

The Peashooter is the first and primary attacking plant received in th Plants vs. Zombies game and shot one pea every 1.5 seconds, dealing 20 (average) damage. Not only that but the Peashooters peas can be lit on fire by being fired through the Torchwood plant to deal twice as much damage. The Peashooter is obtained upon starting the game and is also the only regular, long-ranged offensive plant available up until the Snow Pea a special variant of the peashooter is unlocked.

Just as he was about to give up home on ever being able to use his powers properly he discovered that one of his innate abilities (Sun Child). Technically he had two innate abilities but unfortunately only one of them had been awakened by the ceremony and was active. It turned out that this innate ability was the key that allowed him to use the powers of his guardian summon 'The Suburban Almanac'.

The (Sun Child) innate ability not only granted him an affinity with the sun but also allowed him to absorb the power his power for his own use. It took him several days of try on error until he finally discovered how to absorb sunlight and transform it into sun.

Awakened warriors advanced through the ranks by training their bodies using special physical exercises and used special breathing techniques to absorb and transform spirit energy into vital energy in their hearts where their nexus is located. Whiles Elementalist advanced by using special meditation techniques to absorb spirit energy into their mind strengthening them in the process and transforming the absorbed spirit energy into their respective element for use.

Summoners on the other hand absorbed and stored spirit energy in their soul space and transform in a portion of it into soul energy that is necessary to form contracts. The rest is stored in their soul space in the form of a spirit energy sea which could be used to summon items and creatures marked by a summoner's soul energy signature.

Aaron had theorized that the reason why his talent was so low was the fact that his soul was from another world which resulted it in being incompatible with spirit energy resulting in it being able to absorb and store it efficiently. One's talent in this world simply referred to how efficiently one could absorb and store spirit energy and his special orgins resulted in his results being so poor due to his soul not being from this world. If he had been a warrior or elementalist it couldn't have mattered as the core of power for both were related to the body and mind respectively both of his were from this world.

Unfortunately the core of power summoners was in the soul which resulted in his poor talents. Aaron also theorized that upon arriving in this world the rules of the Plants vs Zombies game and the Almanac changed to match the rules of this world.

Just as all hope seemed lost he discovered his innate ability (Sun Child) might be the key to his current problem his ability to absorb the power of the sun couldn't be influence by his poor talent. In fact it might even be the reason for his poor talent as the Suburban Almanac came with him from Earth and who knew how that affected his soul.

Having thought of this Aaron dedicated several days studying and experimenting with his new abilities until he discovered how to absorb and store the power of the sun as sun in his soul space. The soul space of ordinary summoners was a seemingly imaginary but very real space filled a fog, at the bottom of which was the spirit sea where summoners stored their spirit energy and contained the contract crests that summoners used to 'brand' or establish contracts with new summons.

The soul space also serve as the 'home' of the guardian summon and other should the summoner should decide to store them in it but summoners are very careful about the summons they allow in their soul space as any damage done to the soul space would have drastic repercussions on the summoner and potentially cripple or kill them.

His soul space had one major difference from the soul space of ordinary summoners, the most striking feature being the small yellow sun floating in the center of his soul space and his remarkably small spirit sea that could better be called a spirit puddle. The sun served as the reservoir where his sun was store just like how the spirit sea served as the reservoir of an ordinary summoners spirit energy.

Despite the progress he had made Aaron still had one final issue, his current reservoir of sun was insufficient to summon his only plant, the Peashooter. Just like in the game 100 sun was required to plant or summon the Peashooter which his sun reserve was insufficient to do.

Fortunately the more sunlight or rather sun power he absorbed the larger the sun in his soul space grew and soon he would have 100 sun and finally be able summon the Peashooter and have some power to defend himself in this world.
