When I saw 3 of my siblings in front of my door, I was happy. I was able to sense their presence through Tracking before they even knocked. This wasn't the first time I've used Tracking, but the fact I was able to do something similar to a spell always made me happy. However, I didn't show my happiness on my face, there was no reason to provoke my siblings. While Fyn and Lina, my younger sister, shared my emotionless expression, Thion however, looked at me with a gaze of enmity and spoke.

"Father has called a meeting with all of us, follow me."

They didn't wait for my reply and started moving to the Duke's study. I thought we were going to pick up my younger brother, but I guess he's still too young.

We entered the Duke's study through the right-hand side, I was surprised at how normal the Duke's study looked. There were bookshelves with a combination of documents and books on the left and right-hand side of the wall. There was a guest area that consisted of 4 couches surrounding a table in the center of the room. Towards the end of the room, Duke Pendell was seated on his chair surrounded by documents and a butler. On the wall behind the Duke were windows that were taller than me.

When Fyn shut the door, the Duke began speaking.

"Your elder brother Lunun will be coming back from the academy in a few months. Once he comes back, we will be hosting his engagement party. His fiancee, Ludmilla, is expected to visit our house soon. Despite your differences, I hope to see all of you maintain a cordial relationship. Do not offend her, Marquis Venson is someone we cannot afford to offend. If you have no questions, all except Rorik are dismissed."

After they all left, Duke Pendell shot a look that had a mix of pity and indifference at me.

"Your only appearance in the mansion for the next 2 months will be a brief greeting during the dinner party. Learning etiquette won't be necessary for you, all you need to do is greet the Marquis family and leave. Judging by how you've kept yourself the past few years something like this won't be needed to be taught to you. However, you are not allowed to visit the prison until Marquis Vendon and his family leaves. I understand you've been frequenting Kasa the last few years, as she is required to move as well, I'll put you two in the same residence so you can entertain yourselves. You can loiter around that area but you cannot come near the mansion. You've also been playing with dagger techniques for some time, haven't you? As a reward for listening I'll hire a rogue to teach you. You may now leave."

However, I didn't leave just yet, I knew this was an opportunity that I needed to utilize.

"Give me money as well."

"Pardon?"

"Give me a monetary reward for listening. I'll guarantee that I won't even step out of my residence until Marquis Venson leaves."

"... You're quite shrewd. It isn't difficult to accomodate your request, I'll grant you a monetary reward as well. You are dismissed, prepare your luggage, a servant will come to pick you up in the night."

"Thank you, Duke Pendell."

As I left the study, I couldn't help but think I underestimated the Duke. Although I thought he didn't care about my actions, he had a full grasp on everything I've done the past few years. I didn't expect him to be this aware of my actions, I can guess that he has someone keeping tabs on me, but it would be relatively impossible to figure out anything else about the spy. Thankfully, it seems that the only thing he doesn't know about is my soul technique, practicing in secret was a good idea.

Other than that, I couldn't help but feel a little happy, I'll finally be able to have money. Having money will allow me to progress other aspects of my Running Away from the Pendell family plan that I've been pushing to the side for now. Having a real teacher for my dagger technique will also be helpful for the future, I need to practice with someone else if I am to improve.

Although not being able to visit the prison for a while makes me disappointed, the benefits outweigh the costs of listening to Duke Pendell. Plus, I won't be living in isolation, I can still talk to Kasa whenever I'm bored.

I didn't have much stuff to pack, the only things I wanted to take with my are books and clothes anyways.

Instead, I decided to head to the library to stock up on books. I won't be coming back for at least a month, so I started picking up as many books as I could.

'I guess I should pack a few books for Kasa, she's been liking those romance books a lot lately.'
