Lying within the confines of his room, Ziek couldn't help but bite down on his inner cheeks in frustration, "Fuck!"

Silence prevailed as a woman dressed in scrubs attended to her leader's injuries in silence. Ziek had been spewing out profanities at his phone for half an hour without a stop already.

The wounds he bore were undoubtedly the result of the formidable General Yi Zen's actions. Why would her leader let himself be treated as such, without fighting back? She didn't dare ask, or she'd end up as his phone.

The woman diligently healed all of his injuries and departed as discreetly as she had arrived.

(Ziek): Is Bing Shi your first host?

(Kuro): Classified information.

Another classified information. The growing sense of powerlessness gnawed at Ziek from within. Was Bing Shi toying with him? She had clearly stated that he was not part of her missions, hadn't she?

Could it be that a single misstep on his part would sever his ties with Bing Shi forever? Ziek contemplated the possibility that he might follow her, perhaps like those protagonists in the reference novels she had sent him.

There existed an enigmatic bridge called 'Xuan Mu' between them, which they could use to cross and connect, yet both stubbornly refused to traverse it.

While Bing Shi grappled with her reluctance to move on from her ex-boyfriend, Ziek wrestled with his own denial of accepting himself as Xuan Mu.

But how had Ziek come to know that Xuan Mu was his past life? Xuan Mu's memories were cohesive, slipping seamlessly into his consciousness as if they had always belonged.

Whatever his past life did, during meetings, working, eating... Ziek could feel this constant sense of happiness and warmth fighting against his other burling emotions. It didn't take him long to guess that it was due to Bing Shi.

Where was the problem, then? Ziek had come to a stark realization that his past life didn't want to share Bing Shi with him! As if he, in his present form, was deemed unworthy of even catching a glimpse of her!

It was driving Ziek crazy because he would do the same! There was no way he'd share his current memories of Bing Shi with his shitty past lives!

He had put in significant effort just to earn a simple virtual hug from Bing Shi, so he could fathom why he hadn't instantly received memories involving her. It was as if his past life was saying: To hell with you, earn her affection the hard way. I won't be handing out any privileges to you.

Having a glimpse of a suffering Bing Shi almost ripped his heart in half. Ziek had a strong urge to take her place and suffer in her stead. Those feelings, he could differentiate. They were not his. He didn't love Bing Shi to such an extreme degree. He was not jealous when she spoke to other men, not even her Kuro.

Ziek was confident that Bing Shi would never look at another man. She didn't even care when her ex-boyfriend's soul was being thrashed around like a sack of potatoes! Her unwavering loyalty fascinated him, and he loved it more than anything.

Moving forward, he decided to avoid triggering her painful memories and to continue living as he had before. If his past life had given up on Bing Shi, then he was more than willing to claim her for himself.

(Ziek): Try to cheer her up.

(Kuro): How?

(Ziek): Let's grill some sweet potatoes for her.

(Kuro):🖕

(Ziek): Tomorrow at 9 AM in front of her tent?

(Kuro):🖕

Ziek laughed at Kuro's 'Yes/OK'. If Bing Shi knew what he was teaching her innocent Kuro, she would have wrecked him up.

Closing his eyes, he attempted to steal a few memories of Bing Shi. But all he got was his sexy secretary, Mia, 'You know what? Fuck you.'

They seemed to be on a mundane business trip on the other side of the world. But then, an unexpected event occurred. In a hotel room, his past life, Xuan Mu, decided to give Bing Shi a phone call.

° Xuan Mu's voice carried a playful tone as the call was answered, "Asleep?"

° "...Maybe? I dunno. My eyes are sleeping..." Bing Shi responded, her eyes closed, "But my mouth is not. It's busy sending flying kisses across the world."

Both Xuan Mu and Ziek found themselves strangely aroused by Bing Shi's voice alone. The desire to be physically close to her became overwhelming. As a result, they both unzipped their pants, their emotions intertwining.

° Xuan Mu's chuckle resonated through the call, his tension easing, "How many did you send?"

° "One thousand."

"Pfft." The smiles on Ziek's face persisted as he listened.

° "I received them all. Doesn't your mouth hurt?" Xuan Mu asked.

° "It's perfectly fine. Lots of training on your MuMu did its wonders," Bing Shi's playful giggle rang out.

° "..." Xuan Mu struggled to find words. This girl—how he longed to embrace her and never let go, "MuMu, and I want to see you."

° "Oh. Do you miss me that much?" she asked.

° "I miss you so much that it hurts."

Just as Ziek was about to catch a glimpse of Bing Shi on Xuan Mu's phone screen, the scene shifted abruptly.

This time, Xuan Mu was seen walking toward the trash bin to dispose of a pile of tissue papers stained with his own release. Meanwhile, he continued conversing with Bing Shi over the phone.

'Fuck you! You fucking dipshit! You %#$#&#%@&&!!...' Ziek's lips curled into a frustrated snarl as he cursed vehemently at his own mind — he found himself actually wishing that his perfect memory would work as it usually did, capturing every detail and nuance.

|Sleeping. Do not disturb.|

After Kuro put the sign before Bing Shi's tent, it passed through the barrier as if the barrier didn't exist in the first place. It slithered towards the mouse toy on its little baby blue pillow bed. According to Bing Shi's teaching how to kill mice, it started to choke the mouse toy while waiting for its host next orders.

Kuro's demeanor hadn't always been like this. Watching its host after host repeatedly failing their missions despite Kuro's warning, Kuro started to give up on them. It refused to help them. After many traumatic events, where Kuro was forced to do bad things, the HQ removed a few functions from Kuro. An ability to feel emotions and the ability to distinguish right from wrong.

["Kuro, come to me. Let's sleep together."]

Climbing onto Bing Shi's bed, Kuro allowed itself to be embraced in a warm hug.

When a big middle finger appeared in Bing Shi's mind, she couldn't suppress her laughter.

["Did Ziek teach you that? Do you talk with each other a lot?"]

[🖕]

["If he'll ever need something, seek my approval first before his."]

[🖕]

["Haha, Kuro, that's enough!"]

[Why? It's making you laugh.🖕]

["I'm sure it'll lose its charm after a few more times."]

[🖕]

Amid her giggles, Bing Shi's amusement rang out.

Ziek was in the midst of picking sweet potatoes when a message from Kuro popped up on his screen.

(Kuro): I made her laugh.

Ziek's eyes widened in surprise.

(Ziek): How?

(Kuro): With this: 🖕. She's currently hugging me.

Ziek didn't expect that Kuro would really use it on Bing Shi.

(Ziek): If I tried the same thing, would she hug me too?

(Kuro): LOL🖕

Ziek nearly choked at Kuro's response.

When the camera caught Ziek's laughter, Kuro felt as if it had stumbled upon a new revelation. Both Ziek and Bing Shi seemed to be rubbing off on Kuro in a bad way.
