"You shouldn't have done that Aphrodite!" Artemis yelled angrily at The latter, Aphrodite had just cursed another one of her hunters to fall in love, forcing Artemis to kick her out.

Aphrodite had been bored lately, so she had just done it to have fun, but little did she know this annoying cousin of her's would show up and complain.

As Artemis left her room, Aphrodite, in a fit of anger cursed her little cousin. The specifics of the curse were simple, she would be forced to have a child with a mortal male, preferably a human but it didn't truly matter. Really a simple love curse mixed in with that, but it was so secretive that Artemis wasn't able to notice it... and she wouldn't notice anything wrong for 1,000 more years...

...

Around 1,000 years later Artemis wasn't sure what was going on with her, she'd noticed that she had been unusual lately, but passed it off as a simple human poison trying to get in her system. She knew those always vanished within a few days so she didn't bother with it.

Now however, she had been like this for over a week, she finally decided to go out and figure this out for herself, hopefully some herbs would help. As she walked through the forest, she realized she was quite close to the human contraption called a highway, she didn't think too much of it until her legs buckled.

Confused as to why her legs gave out she struggled to stand up, and when she wasn't able to she started to feel fear, for the first real time in her long life.

She then heard the snap of a twig and looked back to see a human male... but why did he look so... desirable?...

"Huh?... What are you doing out so late?" The man said grabbing Artemis who shivered from his touch, 'Why?... why does it feel so good' She thought with tears in her eyes, as the man picked up her shivering body and brought her home. He wasn't going to leave a young adult looking woman out here in the middle of the night.

...

"Hey, Seline, Eat up now... it's been 1 week... I'm worried" The man, John was his name, John Parker, was worried about her, in truth, over the week they had lived together she had only ever said her name... but he had somehow fallen in love with her... weird how the human mind works... Not that either of them knew it was Aphrodite, who was currently sleeping with Zeus to avoid her future punishment...

Artemis couldn't take it anymore as he grabbed her shoulder, feeling the pleasure she usually felt when he would accidentally bump into her, she let herself go and grabbed onto his collar pulling him into a deep kiss as her clothes were already off of her body...

...

9 months later... she left, just as quickly as she'd shown up, she was gone, John didn't understand, Weren't they happy? they had a child together... how could she leave?

Once Her child had been born, The curse had finally broken and she realized everything that had gone on, she was disgusted with the child and also her supposed Husband, who she nearly killed, but didn't because of the rules. How could she break her oath?... Even after all her years of chastity.

Artemis had left the hospital as a mortal woman, without either male she knew, she finally realized what had happened, Aphrodite must have cursed her sometime ago, and she must have not been able to spot it within her... Aphrodite would pay... Little did Artemis know that Aphrodite had already escaped any punishment she could get by sleeping with Zeus... something not even Hera would find out about.

Their son, Who John had named Argen after the Latin name for silver, courtesy of his silver hair that he got from his mother, was a small healthy energetic baby, one that already looked aware even as his father held him and cried...

John at first tried to take care of their son, hopeful that she would come back, she had to, their love was strong enough for this... Right?

1 year later she still hadn't come back, and he'd been fired from his job. He didn't know what to do, he'd basically given her his all and now she was gone, it was like something had left him.

Eventually they had to leave their 2 story home in the suburbs and started to pay rent at a trailor park. This was where John changed, he barely paid attention to his son, and by the time Argen had turned 3 he'd already become a veteran in taking drugs. heiroin, cocaine, meth, all of it was at his grasp, and he wasted money to buy it as well.

"It's your fault!" John could only find one reason she would leave him, he knew that she loved him, so the only reason was that there was something wrong with this child!

And so started Argens life... a life of beatings and forced labor to pay for beer and rent...

"Go get me some money! Better be damn useful if you want to stay alive!" John said smacking his now 6 year old son, who'd already grown used to it, Argen nodded with a smile and left the house for 2 months... when he came back, he had a job... and several scars and bruises lined up on his body... John never asked and simply took the money for rent and his addiction...

***

"Hey Argen!, you get that the payment for the whores yet?" A man asked a rushing 11-year-old boy who was dodging people to get the trays to the correct tables.

"Yes sir!, here" Argen put the money in a glass and threw it up into the air, for as long as he could remember he had a fantastic aim, he never missed his intended target, and that didn't mean just throwing things.

He had taken his dad's gun and shot it a few times at a target in the garage, he didn't miss a single shot...

He always felt like something was missing when he did this... as if he needed something else to shoot...

The bartender grabbed the cup and smiled seeing the wads of cash, "Seems you got a little extra?" He asked with a smile as he gave Argen 200 dollars for his hard work.

"Thank you, sir!" Argen said bowing, "I'll make sure to use this on that toy I wanted haha" Argen then took off his work shirt and left the underground bar.

The bartender looked at his receding figure and sighed, 'Liar... I know you won't kid...' The bartender then went back to his original goal of cleaning the cups and having people serve the drinks...

...

*Crash*

Argen fell against the ground as his father took the money and spit on the ground, "You snuck the beer like I asked right?" He asked in an angry tone.

"Y-Yes sir," Argen said bringing out a bottle of Cooler light, John looked at it and kicked it out of his hands causing his hand to be cut.

"That's not ain't what I wanted!" John said stomping Argens face and continuing with his body.

Argen wept on the cold floor as John went back inside the house...

***

"Hey," Sam, short for Samantha said waving Argen over to their table, she was his only friend, and also the only one he had ever told about his problems at home.

"Hey, Sam..." Argen said with his hood up trying to cover the black eye he had on his right side.

"He hit you again... didn't he?" Sam said clenching her fists and trying to grab the hood before Argen stepped back out of her reach.

"I'm fine..." He says catching her as she fell, she couldn't walk normally and needed to use crutches, he had never seen her without them or her hat.

"You aren't fine!" Sam said standing up supported by the crutches as she looked him 8n the eyes, "listen... there is a place I can take you away from him-" Sam started to say before Stopping seeing Argens expression.

"I... can't, he's still my father... he's just sad right now... Maybe... maybe if I find mom..." Argen started to mutter his sentences, but Sam could still hear him.

She sighed and sat down as they ate their lunch in silence, neither saying another word as the cafeteria noise blurred into the background.

...

"Hello miss" Argen said bowing to the woman who walked out of his house, she was a neighbor, and she would come by for a few hours every day, always covered in sweat after for some reason...

"Oh, hey brat, you have any more money?... I'm in a tight spot right now" The woman said with a toothy grin, showing her yellow teeth.

Argen shook his head regretfully, truthfully he knew what his father and she did, he also knew that she was a druggie, and when Argen brought home drugs and alcohol for his father, she was the first person to know about it.

"Hello Sir" Argen said lowering his head, his dad was drunk or high, maybe both, he knew what came when something like this happened.

*Crash*

John slammed Argen against the counter kicking him in the stomach and continuing until he was a bloody mess on the ground, but something snapped inside him when he saw the silver hair that looked so much like 'hers'

"Ahhhhhhh!" He screamed and continued beating the already unconscious Argen...

"Get away from him!" Sam burst into the house and kicked John away with her phone out, she immediately called the cops as she checked her friend's pulse, she had felt something wasn't going to be right, now she knew what it was...

...

"Huh?" Argen woke up confused as he looked at the unfamiliar ceiling, "Where am I?" He asked out loud, all he remembered was being beaten by his father and falling asleep...

"You're in the hospital... your father had been arrested for domestic abuse and attempted murder... thankfully your friend Sam called the local police and they got there in time to get you an ambulance... don't worry about your father, his trial is soon...," A man in a wheelchair said rolling forward.

"Are you... my doctor?" Argen asked, he ignored the thing about a trial, his father would be fine, he had been sentenced to court lots of times only to come back the next day, completely fine.

"Haha, no my boy... I'm a teacher, A teacher for special people... just like you, so my reason for being here is simple... Would you like to come and let me teach you?... you could even find out about your mother" Chiron, who he had said his name was after getting ready to leave the rook. had said.

Argen had agreed, if he could find more about his mother, then maybe he could bring her back and they could all be a happy family...

And so, a week later, His father was found guilty, much to his surprise, and Argen was put in the custody of Chiron, a teacher at Yancy Academy, and he'd be staying with him from now on...

"This... isn't a house..." Argen said looking at the archway that Chiron had brought him too, in the middle of a forest, somehow their cab hadn't asked questions, and also, the clearing looked lively, even in the beginning of winter.

"Welcome my boy... to Camp Half-Blood," Chiron said leading him to a house and sat him down to explain what was going on...
