Belinda spent the night in her room, but she couldn’t sleep. She felt tired when they come back, but after she spoke with Bertold her tiredness disappeared. She refined hundreds of fruit candies until the sun rose. She placed them into her ring and went down.

On the first floor she didn’t see anyone, only heard some noises from one of the rooms.

„Sal, don’t move! Or it will hurt!” Szelim’s voice was angry.

„Liar! It always hurt!” Sal sobbed.

„I promise, I’ll be gentle.”

„Gentle, my ass! Ah!” Sal cried out.

Horác came down on the stairs and stood behind Belinda.

„Oh, they’re doing that again.” he said carelessly.

Belinda’s cafe was a little white. „Doing what?”

The door was suddenly opened and a big crying salamander ran out. Part of his tail was cut down and bled.

„You! Why are you doing such a big scene every time?” Szelim came out after him and shook his head. He still had a bloody knife in his hand. He noticed the others. „Good morning!”

„Good morning!” Belinda’s face was whiter.

Szelim noticed this and tried to set her mind at ease. „Don’t be afraid! The lizards’ tail can grow back. He is used to it.”

But they let it fall off! Not cut it off! Not to mention, not all kinds of lizards can do it!

Belinda looked at him skeptically.

Szelim coughed and said. „Forging weapons need parts of a demonic beast’s body. Sal can lose his tail without pain and it grows back after a day. This is the best solution.”

It sounded good, but Belinda felt that something wasn’t right. „You can use your hair, then why can’t you use some beasts’ fur?”

„Fur... Fur?!” Szelim was shocked. „Are you crazy?! Destroying such a beautiful thing for the sake of some stupid weapons?! And what if the forging fails?! Won’t your heart hurt?!”

Horác laughed and Belinda’s face darkened. Why she thought that Horác could have a sane friend?! She looked after Sal and sighed. With this kind of master, she could understand why he was so lazy and uninterested in everything.

Belinda didn’t care about them and went out. She wanted to find Sal and see how he was.

On the yard, next to the lake, there was a big flat stone. Sal was lying on it and enjoyed the sunlight. His tail didn’t bleed anymore, but she could see his sadness.

„Do you want to play with Lucia?” she walked over.

„Don’t summon her!” Sal panicked. „I don’t want her to see me now!”

„... As your friend, I’m sure she doesn’t mind your appearance. If she knows that you are so sad, she’ll feel sad too and try her best to cheer you up.”

Belinda didn’t lie. Because Lucia’s soul was always close to her, she could see everything that happened around them and Belinda could feel her emotions. That’s why she knew she wanted to come out and do her best to make her friend happy.

Sal didn’t believe in her. He watched her, but after a while, he hesitated and in the end nodded.

Belinda went to the lake and summoned the little cat.

When Lucia appeared, she ran to Sal right away. She rubbed her face to his while purring. She was too little and didn’t know how else she could show out her concern for him.

Sal was surprised but finally smiled. The two of them slept together under the sunlight.

Szelim stood at the door and watched them. He often cut down Sal’s tail and he was used to listening to his complaints, but this time his reaction was too big. He never thought that because he found a little friend he would felt that he lost face because of it. Gladly, the cat didn’t care about these things.

Horác stood behind him and watched the two sleeping beasts. He liked to watch dramas, but now he wasn’t interested. He wanted to speak with Szelim and waited for him. When he saw he finally turned back and wanted to go back to his room, he stopped him. „...Did you get an invitation from the auction’s house?”

Szelim was surprised and looked at him. „... You know they send me one every time, but I can’t give it away. I still didn’t see the list, so I don’t know if there’s anything I want to get.”

„If you go, then tell me. I saw something interesting. If its price won’t be more than thirtyfold of the starting price, then try to get it for me.”

„Thirtyfold?”

„... Let it be fiftyfold.” Horác thought about it a little, then corrected.

„Are you sure? You know some people can go crazy and even reach the hundredfold of the original price.” he asked again. „Don’t cry to me if I can’t get it.”

„It’s okay. I don’t think anyone will pay that much for it.”

Szelim was skeptical. „If it isn’t that valuable, then why do you want it?”

Horác was speechless. „I can’t buy cheap things?!”

„It isn’t that you can’t, but you never do.” Szelim laughed. „Usually when you ask me to get something you didn’t care about the price, just say ’get it’.”

Horác touched his chin and he felt that Szelim was right. Before if he didn’t have enough money he just used his blood to exchange for it. But nowadays he sold the fruit candies and Belinda always told him ’save it, don’t spend it without thinking’. Sometimes he visited the Market with her, but they never bought anything. He didn’t understand it. He could see that she was interested in a lot of things then why?

„I’ll be bored of it after 2 days, so why spend money on it?” he got such an answer when he finally asked. He never thought that this would affect his behavior.

„You are right!” Horác laughed and patted his shoulder. „Then go for it!” he walked away.

„... Hey! I don’t mean to incentive you to spend more money!” Szelim shouted after him.

Horác just waved his hand without turning back.
