Steve Rogers wore his t-shirt, walking out of his room, "why are the alarms going off?."

He looked at the hall, which was a combination of living room, gym, dining room, for any sign of life, "Yo, old man. You ready?"

If he wasn't used to it, then he might have jumped up in fright, but by now, Steve was used to Ava appearing like Ghost, "Yes."

He turned over, seeing Ava stand there, wearing her white suit, "what about others?"

"They'll be there," She just said when the portal opened in front of them, "and it looks urgent."

Steve pressed on his glove, causing nanites to swarm all over his body, forming his Captain America suit. He raised his hand, and his vibranium shield hastened over to his hands, "Let's go."

The two of them walked through the portal, appearing at the edge of a forest.

Their eyes fell on a large airplane with its ramp open, and the SHIELDs STRIKE team was firing, while there was little return fire.

"Captain, can you hear me?"

"Stark?"

"Yes. These are not SHIELD agents, they are Hydra, and we are attacking," With Tony's voice, Iron Man rushed over the sky, firing repulsor beams at the STRIKE agents.

The Ghost disappeared, appearing in between the group of STRIKE Agents, taking away their weapons.

Captain America threw his shield, slamming the heads of STRIKE team members, causing two of them to fall down.

Rumlow frowned as he ran backward, taking up a rocket launcher, firing it at Iron Man.

"Now firing rocket launchers?" Iron Man fired a repulsor beam at the rocket, causing it to blast before it reached him.

He flew the long path around, firing back at the STRIKE agents, "STRIKE? Why don't you take a hike!"

"Ughhh," Ghost's disgusted voice resounded on the comms, "you really can't help yourself, can you?"

Tony glanced towards Spectrum through infrared eyes, watching her take out another STRIKE agent, "should you be saying that? I can already see your replacement."

Ghost clenched the jaw. She could feel it, someone with similar powers.

Above the ramp,

Coulson and Melinda were standing in the corner, looking out at the STRIKE team being taken down, "shouldn't we help?"

"Help who?" Fitz asked, "the only one here in the problem is the STRIKE team."

Jemma nodded, hiding behind the car with Fitz, "that's true. But I am more curious, why are you hiding here?"

Her question caused everyone's eyes to turn towards Jay, hiding between Jemma and Fitz, on the side of Lola.

"Well, I have no plans of killing them or revealing that I have powers. It's not like I am needed," Jay pressed his lips, sadly looking down.

Skye, who was lying on Lola's front seat, stroked Jay's head as if he was a little puppy, "aw, don't be sad. It's ok being useless."

Jay chuckled, "stay down before you get killed."

Skye blinked, "I don't even hear gunfires anymore? Is it over?"

Jay sat down on the ground, folding his legs, "No, this is just beginning."

SHIELD, Alexander Pierce's office,

Pierce was pacing around. When Nick Fury entered the office, "Pierce, did you send the STRIKE team on the mission somewhere?"

Pierce shot a look at Fury, sitting down, "Yes. I heard a SHIELD agent went rogue and kidnapped a Senator. I had to send the STRIKE team to save the Senator."

Nick frowned, "I didn't hear anything about a Senator disappearing."

Pierce sat down, "well, they are keeping this quiet. An old friend personally asked me for help."

A phone rang, Pierce's attracting the attention of the two, making Nick look over as Pierce was about to pick it, "Is that important? Because I wanted to discuss the tech that Natasha holds."

Pierce looked towards the phone. He frowned since he didn't recognize the number.

He glanced towards Fury, putting down the phone, "were our scientists able to replicate it?"

"No, not yet. But we have been trying. I am thinking about asking Tony to work on it. He might be the only one that could replicate it."

"No, what if Stark decided to keep it for himself. We'd be only making him stronger," Pierce frowned, even more, feeling that something was wrong.

Nick leaned back, "well, there is a point to that. No one would benefit from that ego-centric billionaire playing superhero; I was hoping that he could help me with the Avengers initiative. But our enemy seems to have formed their team first. We need Avengers for a situation like this."

"You want my help? Is that why you are here?" Pierce smiled, shaking his head as he stood up.

Nick nodded, "Yes. I want you to convince me to give Avengers initiative a go. With Hulk, Iron Man, Wizard, and Natasha. We should be able to fight free Captain from the mind control. Otherwise, the whole of SHIELD might be gone in few months."

Pierce thought about it, "how is the project with Tesseract going? Has Phase 2 started?"

Nick narrowed his eye, "it has started, but it won't be ready in time to deal with Primo."

"What if we increased the resources?"

"You don't have any resources to increase."

Nick frowned, looking back, watching the woman wearing a black bodysuit walk over, her dark red hair bouncing with her every step, "Natasha."

Pierce narrowed his eyes, opening the drawer to take the gun, "what?"

Natasha glanced towards Pierce, smiling, shifting her eyes towards Nick, "It's done. We have also jammed all the signals. He won't be sending signals anywhere."

Nick curled his lip, "Isn't that too fast? I had thousand more ways to keep him busy for the next hour."

"Fury, what is going on?" Pierce put his finger on the trigger, staring at Nick. He had a bad feeling about this.

Fury turned towards Pierce, "Isn't that what I should be asking? What is going on, Pierce? Why did you choose to join hands with Hydra?"

Pierce stood up, pointing the gun at Fury, narrowing his eyes, "So you know. I thought something like this will happen when those abominations started attacking us."

Nick shrugged, "Eh, I knew long before that. Natasha here was kind enough to inform me about the presence of Hydra. But the thing that struck me the most was that Jay didn't tell me. Not because he thought I was one, but because he felt that someone I trust more than other's was."

Nick stood up, glaring at Pierce, "I didn't want to believe it. But I started watching, observing, and when I looked at you suspiciously, it became so obvious."

Natasha rolled her eyes, "you gave me your word that we won't talk about that. I don't want Jay knowing that I informed you."

Nick smiled, "what? Is Black Widow worried that her boyfriend will be angry with her?"

Natasha held her head, shaking her hand, "he's not a teenage kid, Fury. He won't be angry because I didn't do what he wanted. Next time, he'll just keep me in the dark, and that is much worse."

Pierce narrowed his eyes, shifting between the two of them, trying to figure out the situation. When an arrow came flying, knocking the gun out of his hand, "what is taking you two so long? Don't tell me that this old man is giving you trouble?"

Natasha put her hand on the table, leaning on it, with her ankles crossed, "Hawkeye, I'll take it that we are done with capturing the traitors?"

"Well, we have reports from Victoria Hand, Gonzales, Blake, Anne Weaver, Bobbi Morse, Calderon, Oliver. Everyone that was marked has been taken into custody," Hawkeye walked in with a smile on his face, his eyes keenly looking towards Pierce.

"You don't know what you are getting yourself into, Fury," Pierce stared at Fury, raising his hand to surrender, "You think you can stop Hydra? Soon, we will be free."

Nick waved his hand, "yeah, yeah. I heard about that. About Hydra's history, about how it is more extensive and older than I know. Sure it is trouble, but why do you think everyone who wants Hydra gone is so focused on cleaning it out of SHIELD first? Because now, I will focus all of SHIELD and its power on clearing Hydra. No one is coming to save you."

Pierce scoffed, "you don't know what you have gotten yourself in, Nick."

Hawkeye walked over, putting handcuffs on Pierce, "yeah, yeah, less taking more walking. You are going to rot in prison."

Nick narrowed his eye, "tell me why? Why did you choose me to be Director?"

Pierce glanced towards Nick as he was about to pass by Nick, "because you were the best. And the most ruthless person I have ever met. Our enemies are the same, Nick. War, Disorder, that is how I knew you would be the best suited for this job. Unknowingly, you helped us expand more than we had before."

"Then I will make sure to cut you down," Nick glared at him, "this time, I won't leave a body. There will be no heads regenerating."
