Dear diary,
Today is the last school day of the week. There has been quite a lot of afterschool activities due to the festival preparation. As the preparations have started to go into a more busy phase, some lessons including homeroom were converted to festival preparation time as well. Still, I could only get home at five-thirty today. The sky was already darkening when I had left the school, so I had to hurry home. When I ran out of the school gate, a strong gust of wind blew my white cap as it floated away. It moved quite far into the distance as it fell by the walkway. It was very lucky. It was just several feet from landing onto the road! Even though the road in front of our school is not that busy, daddy said that cars are very dangerous and not to pick up anything on the ground when it is on the road! Anyways, Umi was safe and everything ended well!
When I arrived back, I had seen that daddy had already come home. Oh, he is rather early today! Daddy seems to be rather worried as he thinks that I should not be returning home this late. I guess this is understandable since it has only been this year where I have been going home on my own. I usually wait for daddy to finish work before being picked up at around seven in the night usually. Daddy's work got busier and since I am now older, we decided to try out the independant walking home Umi! It has been working out pretty well so far. I guess that our class's preparation for the festival is rather behind schedule and we were planning a haunted house so it is a lot more work than our previous years' performances and such.
Anyways, daddy was not in a good mood. Daddy said that he will speak to Minase-sensei to let me go home earlier so that it would be safer since I go home alone. I am fine with that, I am just worried that my classmates would not think that I am trying to run away from festival preparations. I want to help out as well, okay! Anyways, I had dinner together with daddy. He quickly helped out with the hard maths questions I had today. There is also less homework for us knowing that there is festival preparation, so that is a good thing.
Yawn, I am already kind of tired today. So goodnight!
