“So what have you brought today? Any improvements in the research professor?”[???]
“We have made little progress as of late but take a look at this”[Professor]
He hands the man a folder containing a couple of papers. He grabs it with curious looks and opens it.
“What is this?”[Man]
“Hahaha! It’s a chance Mr. President! It contains the details of the latest report from one of the hidden personnel”[Professor]
“I see… care to explain?”[President]
He raises an eyebrow and glances at the professor. The professor quickly starts to explain the theory behind his plan.
“The report talks about a potential catalyst, you see? If the subject at hand possess the power to transfer other people’s powers after death they can probably be used as a part of a machine”[Professor]
“I see, why haven’t we captured him yet then?”[President]
“Is the folder just for show?” He lets out a sigh,”The agent in question was disguised as the head doctor of the hospital in the southern part of the island. As you may remember, Elementos has been targeting doctors all around the island and he was unable to carry out the plan.”[Professor]
“Hu.... He is really giving me trouble isn’t he? In that case ...”[President]
He drops the folder on the desk and leans back in his chair. He starts to think about what to do.
“Tell my secretary to gather all able agents to hunt Elementos, if possible rehire the retired ones too. They may be old but they are quite powerful. Regarding the kid.... How about I leave it to you? Can I count on you to bring me the results I am looking for?”[President]
“But of course! Leave it to this Brian here to solve the mystery behind power transference”[Brian/Professor]
“Make sure to monitor the movements of Elementos before putting your plan into action. When can I expect results?”[President]
“Soon, you see, I’ve expected this and put a plan into action beforehand”[Brian/Professor]
“Ho” The president let out a breath of exclamation,”Didn’t expect that, reliable as always, eh?”[President]
Those weren’t his real thoughts. He was a bit startled by that. How can this man read him so well? It is great to have smart subordinates but that is only as long as they are willing to listen.
Roy has been chasing behind Neo for a couple of minutes. Neo was seemingly unaware that he was being tailed.
Roy furrowed his brows and thought for a second.
‘Is it possible that he is purposely leading me somewhere?’
‘Wow you finally chose to be a bit cautious?’
Roy ignored Dr. Franco and kept following Neo until they neared a weird facility in the woods. It was quite big, as big as his own school at the very least; yet it seemed quite desolate.
Neo activated a boost on himself after looking back and seeing Roy. He quickly entered the seemingly abandoned building.
‘Ok that was super sketchy... But I’ve got no choice… As long as his traps are like that bucket in the house I should have no problem catching up.’
He soon arrived at the entranced that Neo had dashed through. Roy however was on the lookout for buckets, well not really…
‘Pitfall? Closing hallways? Well that might be a bit advanced…’
‘You might be over doing the caution…’
He Even made Dr. Franco turn off his sarcasm. Roy agreed and continued forward. He could only hear his footsteps echoing in the empty hallway. By looking around at the signs and equipment, he deduced this was a research facility.
‘It looks surprisingly clean though? Did everyone leave recently?’
‘Don’t ask me, I don’t work here’
‘Where do you work then?’
‘...’
He got no reply. He reached a door at the end of the surprisingly long hallway. It was a double door, the sign above it read Main Lab. The door was slightly open, clearly Neo must have entered the room and left it open.
Roy pushed open the door while being alert of his surroundings. He saw nothing, it was pitch black. He decided to enter the room and look for a light switch.
‘You know, if this was a horror movie you’d already be dead right?’
Roy let out a sigh after thinking about the many regretful decisions he has made. Is that man really a researcher that was doing covert operations as a doctor?
Suddenly the lights turned on. The bright flash of light was blinding. Roy took a couple of steps back only to fall back after tripping on something.
“WHAT TH-”[Roy]
Roy was cut off by someone suddenly grabbing him while he was still falling.
“Dr. Storm always knows best, you are quite lucky! When he put me in charge of this operation I was already thinking of the many painful schemes I could enact! Unfortunately he forbid it!!! I’m still angry!”[Unknown Woman]
Roy’s mouth was covered and the room had yet to dim. It was most likely that woman’s power.
“Tie him up, great job Neo! Ah… I wonder if he’ll acknowledge me!”[Unknown Woman]
‘SHE’S A PSYCHO!’
‘You really ought to listen to me more often… I could see this coming from a mile away’
Neo tied up Roy and threw him to the corner of the room. Neo was still expressionless and had yet to say a word. His mouth was not gagged since Neo removed his hand.
“Neo, Why are you doing this?”[Roy]
“...”[Neo]
“I… I Can’t figure it out…”[Roy]
Roy was startled by the development, He obviously knew Neo wasn’t on his side, but he didn’t think he was part of a bigger plan.
‘Was it all on purpose? Did he use Charles and Wilco? Why is he so listless… Almost soulless’
“I am sure you are confused, my name is Mary! I am Dr. Storm’s future bride! Well… He hasn’t said it yet but you’ll help me reach that goal!”[Mary]
‘No thank you…’
The light level had returned to normal revealing a young woman with glossy white hair. She was quite attractive. She seemed to be wearing a lab coat.
“By sending you to him and assisting him with his work a bond will surely be formed!”[Mary]
‘She’s taking love too lightly. I know since I was always alone, it was pretty hard to find a partner.’
‘I was captured by a crazy lady and yet I don’t feel any tension…’
“Now open up or I’ll have to inject you instead.”[Mary]
She approached Roy while holding a vile of medicine. It looked similar to the one Dr. Franco tried to use on Elementos.
‘Crap I need to escape before she uses that on me. I won’t be able to use my power’
Roy glanced at the rope that coiled around him, he deemed it sufficiently sturdy to hold any ordinary person.
‘I am not ordinary any more! I am useful and powerful!’
‘You are deluded’
Roy formed sharp gales of wind that spun around him forming a circle. After a couple of slashes the rope was torn and he quickly stood up. Mary was still smiling though.
“Even if you do that you won’t be able to escape. Let’s try to play a little game while we wait.”[Mary]
The room suddenly turned pitch black, he continued to use his wind to protect himself as he tried to listen for movement.
“You can’t run away if you can’t see anything. Maybe if you defeat me the room will light up!”[Mary]
Roy sent out a sharp gale of wind in the direction of her voice.
“Missed!”[Mary] She yelled out in a mocking tone from an entirely different side of the room.
“Tsk…”[Roy]
Roy sent out gales all around the room this time, hoping not to miss a single area.
“Ah! How naive! Realize how futile your attempts are already”[Mary]
Mary’s voice echoed in Roy’s ear. Almost as if she was standing next to him. He frantically swung his hands around him. He hit nothing.
“This is my domain! I control this space! Entering this room was your first mistake!”
