A young man with healthy brown skin sat on the edge of a building's wall, a few feet above the ground, swinging his legs as he looked at the stars.

"What wouldn't I give to be someone else? My life sucks..." Amari rubbed his coarse black hair and looked down at the ground a few feet below, a plain slab of concrete.

"Then do you want to become someone else?" A voice jolted Amari from his thoughts, his eyes freezing after landing on the speaker.

A tall black man, with chiseled features and warm hazel eyes leaned against the wall with a smile, as for how or when he got there, Amari didn't know.

His black hair was short, yet it suited us demeanor perfectly. Amari blinked several times in confusion.

"I don't even want to know how you got so close to me without me realizing. Why are you so bored as to sit outside listening to a stranger complain?"

Amari wasn't an idiot, and he knew that the man couldn't be normal since he could sneak up on him so easily, albeit he also wasn't paying much attention.

"Isn't it nice to take time to have a moment of peace?" The man's smile remained, earning him a roll of Amari's eyes.

"Okay, but why is your moment of peace disturbing my moment of peace?" Amari looked at the man who wasn't short, standing beyond six feet tall, yet below him due to him being on the wall.

"One's man's misery is another man's delight. Do you have any family here?" The man asked curiously, earning him a suspicious look from Amari.

"If I wasn't suspicious of you, I definitely am now." The question sounded strange coming from a complete stranger.

"That's fine. So do you have any family around? Rest assured, if I wanted to hurt you, you'd be unable to resist."

"I'd also like to think I could at least put up a fight." Amari raised his fists and waved them wildly for a second before staring hard at the man.

"Doubtful." Seeing the man staring at him waiting for an answer, Amari just shrugged and told him the truth.

"No. I just moved into the apartment today. I don't have any parents." Amari couldn't help but recall his rough life and smiled bitterly.

The building Amari now rented an apartment in was quite run down and neglected, but the owner somehow managed to still make money off of it.

"How do you feel about living a better life at the cost of several restrictions? I can directly help you if you so wish." The man fished his phone from his pocket and looked at the time.

"Is that an IPhone 21?" Amari knew that one had to have some serious income to afford the disgustingly expensive phone.

"It's just a phone, no need to drool over it. Do you want it? I can give it to you..." Smiling, the man shook his phone in the air a few times as if gloating.

"Why would you give me something so expensive for free?" He stared into the man's eyes, a rare occurrence as Amari usually avoided eye contact.

"Who said it was free? Do you want to struggle in the dirt all your life, or do you want to be at the top?" Amari couldn't help but wonder what the man's motives were.

"Fine, I agree as long as it isn't something illegal." Amari had yet to find a job, so working an odd job here or there wouldn't hurt.

"Well, what I want you to do... it isn't normal. Well, you'll understand it more when you wake up." The man's words made Amari blank, and then a sharp pain in his neck accompanied by rising darkness came as he fell unconscious.

...

The man, or rather Alvin, picked up Amari's unconscious form with ease, seemingly with no effort and walked away into the darkness.

The time passed quickly, and Alvin stood over a large bed with Amari sleeping deeply on top of the covers. Amari was noticeably different than before, being a whole head shorter than he was a few hours ago.

Not just that, his rough skin gradually turned silky smooth with a healthy brown color, and his body kept shrinking. His bones which should have been hard and sturdy acted like free water, reassembling themselves as they saw fit.

His coarse short hair had fallen out, and a new layer of silky smooth black hair pooled on the pillow, adding a tiny bit of extra cushioning for his head.

Alvin stood with his arms crossed, watching the transformation to ensure nothing went wrong, but it seemed like he was worried for naught.

The last to change was Amari's facial features, but relatively Amari's features were immensely different than before.

His eyebrows were gentle, his eyes large and beautiful. His nose was cute and his lips slightly full. His body figure was that of a girl who had just crossed the threshold for puberty.

Any lolicon would agree that Amari's looks were on a different level, having a tiny wisp of seduction while also being pure and petite.

Alvin turned his head when the door to the room opened and a beautiful clear skinned woman walked in with a gentle smile one her elegant face.

"How is she?" The woman walked over and snuggled into Alvin's embrace, looking at the sleeping girl on the bed with a bit of anticipation and excitement.

"The worst of it has passed. She just needs a few more minutes before the transformation is complete. Are you happy? You always whine and complain about not having children, now you have one." Alvin raised an eyebrow at his wife's soft chuckles.

"Do you think her previous identity will make things difficult? I don't want to force he-" Alvin kissed her full lips gently, stopping her nervous words.

"I can already guess the type of person she is. She won't dwell on the past, and she will definitely love you Evie." Alex patted her back while inhaling the pleasant scent wafting off Evie's body.

The two remained together until they saw movement from Amari. Her finger twitched slightly as her heartbeat slowed down and eventually halted forever.

A pair of hazel irises opened and gazed blankly at the ceiling, not quite sure what was going on. The girl's gaze gradually fell on the duo standing nearby.

"I'm... not dead?" A sweet voice came from her lips, the question sounding a bit awkward due to her young and tender sounding voice.

"Do you remember our conversation?" Alvin looked at Amari, seeing the latter's gaze of slight animosity when she recalled their conversation.

"Damn it! You didn't tell me about all of this!" Amari wished she could go back in time and beat herself up for agreeing so thoughtlessly.

"From this moment forward, you are the daughter of the Onyx Family. I'm sure you received a bit of information during the transition."

Amari knew somehow that there were two kinds of vampires, regular run of the mill vampires and noble vampires, considered purebloods.

As for why or how vampires existed, Amari had no clue as she remained in the dark about being a vampire up until the painful transformation finished.

"Onyx Family? So... I have parents now?" Amari asked a bit hesitantly, having never experienced the warmth and affection of a parent, she was a bit excited inside.

"I'm Alvin and this is Evie. You will call us as dad and mom from now on. Don't give me that look, remember you agreed to this."

"I just boarded the pirate ship of no return... Well, at least I can have parents now." Amari wasn't attached to her old life at all, so starting a new one wasn't unthinkable.

She was fine until she looked down at the clothes several sizes to big for her. With a shaking hand, she grabbed at her crotch only to be wacked on the head by Evie before she could reach it.

"A young lady must act appropriately." Seeing her eyes glimmering like gems, Amari found it hard to proceed when she caught herself and realized she still had company.

"Do you want a moment to change? We can step out..." Alvin said with a considerate tone, dragging the reluctant Evie out who was staring at her new daughter like she was a precious treasure.

"This is great." Amari absently reached for her crotch and sighed in despair. It wasn't there, her little brother had run off while she was asleep.

Getting off the bed, Amari walked over to the tall mirror and looked at herself in the mirror after removing her oversized clothes.

"I'm pretty cute..." Amari looked at her flawless chocolate colored skin and large hazel eyes, but she didn't feel embarrassed looking at her petite breasts and hairless entrance.

Just as Amari turned to search for clothes that fit her, the door opened and shut and Evie walked over, eyes sparkling.

"Let mom help you get dressed." Evie vanished and reappeared before Amari a few seconds later with a cute dress and some undergarments in her hands.

Amari was initially going to figure it out, but her mother insisted that she help and the most miserable moment of her new life began.
