Due to there not being any new threat that Shi Luo Feng could pose to the combined forces of Ding Wen and Meng Chu, the second day went significantly more smoothly than the first. Besides the few places in which Wei Yi had to meddle a little bit to adjust the odds of combat in her favour, every other combat encounter was resolved either purely using the might and limited wit of the warriors involved, or through the tactics she had suggested against the abominations.
As before, there were notably more losses on Ding Wen’s side, though it was still a lesser quantity than Wei Yi had desired. Fortunately, the fact that he was able to strengthen his forces without too much effort further reinforced the potential of him being in possession of a spatial item of some kind, as he would otherwise need to go through far too much trouble just to disguise the location of one of his treasuries. There were other possibilities and answers to how he managed to provide a number of his troops with pills that could amplify their ability for a short period of time, but one thing that she could be sure of was that he did not make them last night, as pill refinement took a long time even in the Planar Continents, where it was not an art that was barely brought back to life.
Furthermore, from what she had seen of the pills produced in the prison realm, they would not last long after being produced, so they had to have been created recently, somewhere within the last two weeks. Based on the supplies that Ding Wen’s faction must have had, they could have easily made them ahead of time and given them out to all of their soldiers on the first day, and yet not a single one of the soldiers she had quietly observed in between her bouts of assistance to her forced used even one, suggesting to her that Ding Wen had some of them prepared for himself that he then stored in a spatial item.
Depending on how such items worked, it would not be too unreasonable to assume that the time within travelled at the same speed as it would in the Planar Continents, as it would be independent of whatever was accelerating the flow of time in the prison realm, and would thus allow items to be stored for significantly longer periods of time before decaying.
It would be nonsensical to assume that someone is in possession of a power absent from the vast majority of the world above just due to this, as Ding Wen could have prepared the pills earlier and have only given them out now, as he would have needed to do if he was to remove them from whatever form of spatial storage he might possess, but if he had initially anticipated an easy time with the four-day offensive, then he would not have the time he needed to create the pills after realising that things were not going according to plan.
Still, she had already created plans for dealing with both outcomes, and the result would be absolutely irrelevant to her unless she encountered some extremely unlikely and unforeseen outcome.
What mattered more for the moment were the unplanned and unexpected disturbances, such as the strange spiritual will-like energy that she had spotted several times during the second day, the potential for superior types of pills or treasures that could be given out by Ding Wen, and the fact that the abominations could still grow much stronger so long as Shi Luo Feng allowed it. After all, they were created from fragments of the Magnanimous Leech, an incredibly powerful but flawed technique.
So long as they were fed sufficiently, their strength would grow significantly more efficiently than that of typical cultivators, as their physiques were almost literally fluid and permitted for any changes that this development and progression required.
With roughly one hundred full sacrifices to an abomination, they would reach a level equivalent to that of the Searing Torch realm, except without the physical weakness of someone in that realm of killing intent. They would be just as strong in their defence as their offence, recovery and mental strength, as they had no true minds to speak of. With five hundred, they ought to match someone in the Hatred Augur realm, though that was slightly more difficult to estimate due to how fragmented knowledge of this realm was both within the prison realm itself and the Magnanimous Leech, with the latter losing even more of its knowledge when it was desecrated into the abomination creating technique.
As a result, Wei Yi could not quite be sure how reaching such a realm would affect the abominations, for Shi Luo Feng herself wasn’t in the fifth realm yet, nor did she know whether one of the three of Beast’s Rest could ever gather up so many willing or unwilling sacrifices for even a single abomination, though it would naturally be in her best interest to prevent any attempts.
When it comes to large stores of medicines, pills and stimulants that Ding Wen likely had, she couldn’t do much to stop their usage without the knowledge of where his treasury was, so the only thing she could do was counteract their effects with creations of her own. For this reason, she requested the collection of several resources that she determined to be within the pill sold at the auction she had attended, and was now standing over a desk full of these rotting and dried leaves and herbs, all of which had very slight similarities to those in the Planar Continents, though there were far more differences.
This made it rather difficult to understand what any one of these ingredients was meant to be or what it could be used to do.
Names and appearances alone weren’t of much use, since pill refining relied on a lot of complex interactions between various resources that couldn’t immediately be predicted on the first glance. For instance, Green-Stalked Wood Flower should never be mixed with Orange-Stalked Wood Flower under all but one very specific circumstance, in which the destabilization of the refinement process is necessary for the continuation of it, even though both are of the wood element and share a lot in common, suggesting that they ought to function well alongside one another inside of a pill furnace. If not for the fact that one was slightly yin while the other was slightly yang in nature, there would be no conflict between them whatsoever.
For a yang-type physique cultivator like Wei Yi, spotting issues of that nature was easy, but many other differences within extremely similar herbs and materials could still be unnoticed even under the perceptive gaze of her spiritual will, meaning that not only did she have to examine everything carefully, but also experiment with it for a little while to see if it reacts unexpectedly to anything.
That is exactly what she was doing right now, holding two extremely similar dried leaves in either hand.
‘One of these is a Crimson Hatred Leaf, while the other is Hatred Crimson Leaf… what kind of person named everything within the prison realm? Next they’ll give me a Leaf Crimson Hatred, or-’ her spiritual will brushed past that exact label, forcing her to use all of her mental strength to stop her hands from crushing the dried leaves and then burning them all with her physique energy, instead placing them on the table carefully before standing up and grabbing someone to assist her.
Somehow, that ended up being Meng Chu himself.
After she explained some of the situation to him, he shrugged, “I understand that the naming sense of the first few individuals that had been imprisoned here is rather lacking, but there isn’t much I can do about it.”
“That’s where you’re wrong. Sit down here for a minute. Since you’ve lived in this realm for some time, you ought to have some basic familiarity with the various plants and herbs that can be found within, so you should be able to come up with slightly better names for them. List down the properties you are already aware of, and everything will progress a dozen times faster as a result,” Wei Yi replied, emptying her seat for him, “Once that’s done, I could make something useful out of them.”
“Ugh… Is there no way to just send the memories into your head?”
“Do you have any primordial jade with which to create a jade slip and some spiritual will to fill it with your knowledge? If you do, I’ll take all of them and give out my techniques to greatly increase the strength of your forces.”
“Obviously, we don’t have access to such a thing. It might be possible to recreate the effects of a jade slip using the materials of this prison realm, but this is one of the arts we have not yet recreated.”
Wei Yi nodded and left him to his work. He was able to write down the details for a number of the dried plants with ease, even mentioning their taste and how they were able to work alongside one another in food, and then came up with several names that suited the ancient plants far more than the same three words being rearranged, again and again.
The Crimson Hatred Leaf became the Flaming Core Leaf due to its nature being that of the fire element, the Hatred Crimson Leaf became Steel Sky Root, for it originally belonged to a plant that used the energy of the air to nourish an underground tree, and the Leaf Crimson Hatred was converted into the Mortal Enmity Grass, as it had been affected by killing intent significantly and had transformed into a poison that directly drained the lifeforce of those with less than twenty years of life remaining. For those with more than that, it was simply unpleasant to consume, albeit beneficial to the stomach.
This process took a lot longer when it came to things that Meng Chu was unfamiliar with, for he had no previous experiences to work from.
If someone had been standing by their side during this, one question would have naturally appeared in their heads – why didn’t Wei Yi do this herself? Surely, she, with a head full of different words, terms and meanings, could come up with some satisfactory names?
Unfortunately, Wei Yi’s own naming sense was somewhat lacking, as could be determined by the fact that the mysterious characters and the technique that they provided still carried the same name as they did the first time she had benefited from them. Furthermore, the techniques that she had created on her own, whether it was the Elysian Palm or the Dawn Slicing Beam and Flowing Light, had all but exhausted her ideas for names.
It wouldn’t have been an issue if there were only one or two herbs that needed processing naming, but there were almost a hundred different dried leaves that all shared the same meaningless names.
“Alright, this should be it. When it comes to the other herbs, just ask someone else for help. Though, could I ask you to stop grabbing random people to assist you whenever you need them? It can be very disruptive to the normal operation of the faction,” Meng Chu said, standing up from her seat.
“I could, though I don’t grab that many people. It tends to be you, Dugu Wei and Qiu Sheng, though not in that order. The majority of the time, I only have a chance to get your help because you are already walking towards me for whatever reason,” she replied, not considering the situation to be as relevant as Meng Chu made it out to be, “I don’t even do it that often.”
“Since it isn’t a concern for you, faction leader, I will go ahead with it.”
He sighed and left, clearly considering whether he had enough time to get some sleep before he next needed to appear in front of someone officially.
Wei Yi could not do the same, unfortunately, as she now had to get back to the most important part of the pill refining process – the actual refinement process. With a few more hints from Meng Chu, she was able to reorganise her view of some of the materials and better understand their purpose, and had created a rough duplicate of the Planar Condensing pill recipe, except that instead of gathering planar energy, it would affect and purify killing intent just enough to be absorbed without too much difficulty on the part of the cultivator.
‘Normally, I’d need some materials and craftsmen to create a pill furnace for me, but I have the former, and I have the physique energy for the latter process,’ she thought, although she did not immediately move to create the furnace, ‘There are a few experiments I can perform without a pill furnace, and perhaps if I reach the Searing Torch realm, I could use the pressure of fire-type killing intent to create an illusory furnace and pseudo-alchemical flame, completely bypassing the necessity for owning a high quality furnace by creating the most suitable one myself.’
In theory, she could also achieve this with either one of her other energies, but none of the three was currently at a sufficient level to achieve such a thing, nor was she aware whether anyone else in the Planar Continents or the prison realm had ever attempted to do such a thing themselves.
Regardless of what anyone else has or has not done, she absolutely had to attempt this in the future.
For now, she took the metals she managed to gather from one of the warehouses she attacked and slowly heated them with a careful application of her physique energy, removing the hammer from the back of her head to shape the metal into her desired form, that being the furnace she had used in the Timeless Grove, under Chu Ling’s tutorship.
It was not necessarily the best pill furnace, but it was simple enough and suited her purposes for now, as this Hatred Gathering pill would not be anything above the level of one star.
She worked on the main body of the furnace first, striking the metal carefully and regularly to attain the desired state of the crude iron. Normally, a blacksmith would use an anvil or some other work surface, but Wei Yi used only her hand and naked legs, for there was little else that was stronger within the entire faction. Afterwards, she worked on the lids for the fuel and material compartments of the furnace, creating those significantly more quickly due to how little effort was needed to match the shape of the furnace.
That process took her an hour before she had something sufficient for her needs. As it did not need to be an artefact in order to withstand a small flame combined with killing intent, her primary weakness in the forging process did not manifest, allowing her to create a crude but effective pill furnace.
Wei Yi collected several of the dried herbs – those that were most plentiful, for what she was about to do had a high chance of failure – and carefully released a thin strand of yang physique energy into a single herb, diluting it as much as she possibly could in order to prevent the leaf from being turned into flame instantly.
For a brief second, the tip of the leaf seemed to regain some vitality, but that same spot immediately lit on fire the very next second.
Within seconds, the flame consumed the herb and turned it to ash.
‘Huh. I must say, I hadn’t expected it to work like that at all. I was certain that it would just burn the herb, and I would then be able to proceed to trying to adapt for the lacking vitality of the materials as the next step,’ she thought, the reaction of the leaf being pleasantly surprising to her, ‘This means that if I get the right type of physique energy and gather a sufficient quantity, I could infuse a transformed version of my own physique energy and revitalise the herbs!’
She grinned, put the leaves down and filled the meridians in her legs with True Ascendant physique energy, literally vanishing from her spot the very next second, rushing through the underground passages of the faction to find the same person that had left an hour earlier.
“And so, we-”
CRASH!
A wall right behind Meng Chu exploded, seemingly for no good reason, for no human eye could witness an object moving at such an immense speed when they were not looking out for it.
Several chunks of stone dropped from the ceiling, piling up atop an unseen figure.
After a few seconds of stunned silence from both Meng Chu and Qiu Sheng, the latter of whom had been presenting some of the latest information gathered by certain prostitutes on the inner workings of the other two factions, as well as some of the actions of the neutral forces, the pile of stone shifted, and crimson hair atop a crimson robe revealed itself.
“Phew…” Wei Yi breathed out, spitting out a few chunks of stone before cleansing the inside of her mouth with physique energy to get rid of the remaining dust, “Meng Chu! Where is the miracle fluid being stored, and do you have a large container of fluid?”
“… What the fuck are you doing?” he couldn’t help but reply, the sight of cracks spreading through the walls and ceiling of the room being rather unnerving to perceive, “It’s in the fourth storage room, but-”
“Thanks!” she exclaimed, searing the wall with True Ascendant energy to prevent further weakening of the structure before running off, finding that storage room without too much difficulty due to being the one that selected and numbered every single room and chamber within the enormous network of underground passages.
Several litres of miracle fluid had been stored within, all of it being contained in small, individual bottles either to make it easier to give them out later or to make them more difficult to carry and steal.
She grabbed one set of the miracle fluid bottles and filled the adjacent drum with their contents.
After locating a few pieces of rope, fashioned from a particularly sturdy dried plant found within the wastes of the prison realm, she was able to attach the drum to her back and, after adjust its size to be just large enough to fit through the doorways of the underground network, she left without providing any explanation to her subordinates. For the moment, they didn’t need to understand.
“Eh… Boss, do you have any clue what she’s doing?”
“Well… Based on the context, I have to presume our master is going to get something for the purpose of pill refining, but… Miracle fluid? I don’t think that there’s any relation between that and the great art… Naturally, that doesn’t explain the extreme rush…”
“R-Right,” Qiu Sheng nodded, turning away to hide her red face and her action of biting her lip.
A great storm shot through the crimson wilderness of the prison realm, creating a great wall of dust as it travelled. The moving storm travelled north, from Beast’s Rest towards the Great Bone Lake, the place where countless physique cultivators resided and constantly strengthened themselves through the killing intent of the Beast’s bones.
It did not need to be stated that this was Wei Yi, investing her full strength into every step to travel at a speed greater than sound.
The consumption of physique energy was far lesser than when she used the Elysian or Antithesis Palm with it, but it was still exhausted swiftly after several minutes of sprinting at her greatest possible speed, forcing her to pause every now and then to sip some of the miracle fluid from the great container on her back. Luckily, the transparent water-like substance was extremely nutritious, providing her with an immense quantity of energy from just a mouthful of it.
As a result, she was able to reach the distant outskirts of the Great Bone Lake with just half of the miracle fluid, conserving the rest for prolonged battles which she intended to participate in since the beginning of the journey.
Her purpose for leaving Beast’s Rest and heading to the town of the physique cultivators was to gather some crops, so to speak, that she did not need to invest any effort into in order to grow, till or care for.
The best place to locate physique cultivators that wouldn’t be missed would be outside of their primary gathering spot, where everyone who couldn’t withstand the immense pressure of the bones would form small camps and unite into teams of bandits that would then go on to do things like occupying ancient and forgotten battlefields and raiding them for food and resources for themselves.
They would be easy to deal with, as they would not be in any realm higher than the third, and the variety of physiques that they possess have a large number of purposes, with several being bound to have something like the Restorative Spring or Vitality Siphon physiques.
Before the Great Bone Lake came into view, she was already able to find several distant camps of bandit cultivators, with the smallest camp containing only six individuals while the largest appeared to have almost two dozen physique cultivators. Although her spiritual will could not reach them while they were at the edge of the crimson fog, she was relatively certain that most of the camps had no traces of those in the third realm, meaning that they would be easy to take down with little expenditure of any one of her forms of energy.
In order to not attempt something dangerous by misperceiving the power of her enemies, she neared the smallest camp with her stealth methods active, leaving the miracle fluid container behind in an inconspicuous location, getting close enough to scan it with her spiritual will.
Within this camp, six men stood in a circle, their hands placed on one another’s shoulders, their mouths moving quickly as they were chanting something together.
No energy was shifting around them, not even according to her natural perception and the sensitivity of her dantian, so Wei Yi didn’t immediately stop it and instead drew closer, using some of the scattered items and debris around the camp to get closer to them while continuing to avoid notice. Their voices weren’t too loud, but with six people making the exact same sound at the same time, they were almost certain not to hear her footsteps, allowing her to focus on staying out of their lines of sight.
Several minutes later, she came close enough to them to hear that they were repeating a single sentence over and over, while traces of physique energy moved between them through their bodies, which had previously impeded Wei Yi’s observation.
“Endure it, gain balance. Endure it, gain balance. Endure it, gain balance…”
A dozen books from the shelves of the Augur’s Library flew out for her to glance through them until she understood what might be happening.
‘The Devil General physique. Physical features vary extremely, from no clear physical effect to looking almost like a true devil, but the most significant effect is always identical – it permits for the linking of multiple cultivators in a symbiotic connection that allows them to suffer together for greater growth, though the Devil General will not only benefit more from the connection, but that benefit will increase with every person they add to their link. Data on this physique varies, and the common version of the physique either only permits the linking of ten cultivators, or the physique grows for every stage it achieves, refining the physique from a One Hundred Man Devil General to a One Million Man Devil General,’ she read through the book and summarised it to herself, confirming that the energy appeared to be yin-type and matched the effects, ‘It’s a shame that I won’t be able to absorb this one for myself.’
She prepared herself and then leapt out, understanding from the relevant tome that a Devil General physique was at its weakest when it in the preparatory stage, before their energy could be stabilised and redirected towards combat.
Thus, she naturally didn’t give them that opportunity, invoking her Yang Elysian Palm while covering it in the energy of the Antithesis Palm to prevent its glow from alerting others.
None of the six were able to react in time, causing them to be crushed before they had any chance to consider retaliation or escape. Their strong outer shells, their skin and the rock-like carapace of one of the cultivators, were cracked and shattered into nothingness, breaking apart their physique energy connection before it could attempt to recede on its own.
Wei Yi kneeled down besides each body and drained the energy of the four that were in possession of yang-type physiques, burning up the bodies of the other two. As they all had different physiques, she didn’t activate any more abilities for her True Ascendant energy, but she did feel it becoming stronger.
It happened to recover almost the same quantity of physique energy as she had initially spent.
She caught her breath and left the camp before anyone else had the opportunity to find her and cause trouble for her, striding right towards the next nearest and emptiest camp.
The second camp turned out to contain a total of ten people, all of whom were split into pairs all around the surface. Two pairs resided within small tents, quietly talking to one another about something, two more were actively training and beating one another up in a recreational manner, while the last pair were further away, behind a ruined wall, pretending to guard the area while they were actually sleeping.
Their lacklustre behaviour made it significantly easier for her to take them all out, one by one, without any others noticing a single thing. Once again, she collected the energy from their bodies and turned them to ash before returning to the wastes and recovering some energy via the miracle fluid.
Immediately after, she left it behind once more and rushed towards another encampment.
I really liked this story.. Still do, still gonna read on.. But.. I'm incredibly disappointed.. The MC is basically just a mass murderer now..
And that alone is pretty subjective for most people to ignore.. But that isn't what I'm disappointed by..
It's the build-up and development to literally everything involved in Wei Yi's character that I have a problem with.
—oOo—
{Sum Up}
I think the MC is an interesting character, that was poorly and nonsensically developed.
From the very start I was never too fond of the emotional development in the story... She never properly grieved.. Ever. For anything..
She's never displayed any sadness. And when she does, it always comes out super dull and vague. To put it simply, it was half-assed.
Each scene that can even be slightly misconstrued as emotional, has zero impact. No oomph, to it. You can tell there is no real passion or desire from the writer to write Wei Yi having any sort of emotional vulnerability..
Which is pretty bad when she's consistently made to go through these scenarios. Every moment even vaguely depicting her emotions only last maybe a sentence or two and are then immediately glossed over..

{Hesitation & Caution [1]: Kong Expedition}
Lets start with the Kong Expedition, where I ignored the first Red-Flags because of how much I liked the story and concept.
One of her major faults during this time that was only remedied after she pays the ultimate cost, was her hesitation and overly cautious nature.
To put it simply, during the Kong Expedition [she lets everyone around her die]
Quick recap.
At first, she was seeing a bunch of events and scenes everyone through portals or something..
And when she's looking through she sees absolutely f*cking everyone that was part of the expedition either dead or dying.
During which she just blankly stares and watches.
She feels NOTHING FOR THEM, she narrated it herself, that she 'doesn't really care because she doesn't know them'.
That's crazy, but sure. I'll let it slide.
But then, after some more people die she goes onto say that "even she cannot stand around when so many people are dying"
DOES SHE GIVE A f*ck ABOUT RANDOM PEOPLE OR NOT?
A bit contradictory, no scratch that. This just doesn't make any sense.
But GET THIS, this is what I mean by 'her hesitation and caution'
(But also her kindness)
Wei Yi, being the dumb asshole she is, sees Yi Jiazhi (A Relatively strong and atleast somewhat morally inclined character, if slightly idiotic and petty) fighting against Fenwu. Who has already established herself as a pretty terrible person.
She's a known manipulator, and has tried to kill both Wei-Yi and Yi-Bai before.. For literally no reason.. Wei Yi had been already suspected her of being the traitor who was previously killing off random participants in the expedition..
Wei Yi lets these two fight instead of jumping in, in favor of.. Just.. Watching?
She apparently wanted to be "100% sure of what's going on.."
... Now lets think for a second.. Someone here is innocent.. So their life is on the line..
Wei Yi has a pretty good idea who the bad guy here is..
And she can easily resolve this even if she gets involved...
But would rather.. Just watch..
Ok.
To put that into perspective..
It's like you calling 911, the police show up, and all they do is watch you run and fight for your life against an armed assailant because they want to be 100% sure of the situation..
Predictably, Yi Jiazhi dies, after being distracted by a Sneak-attack from an Assassin... The assassin who's later revealed to be a mind-controlled Yi-Bai.
Yi-Bai, is the MC's Friend who's being mind-controlled by Fenwu into being an assassin.
Wei Yi decides to confront them and during which SHE ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to go absolutely all out against Fenwu and Yi-Bai because she's scared of revealing her physique and shit...
🤦♀️
Her hesitation and caution allows Fenwu to leave the scene, leaving Yi-Bai to deal with the MC, and because of this countless more people die.
All Wei-Yi had to do was go all out from the beginning, giving her a decent chance to catch Fenwu off guard, and she probably could've ended the fight there.
Despite all the stupid limiting excuses she could've thought up in her head, she had sufficient jurisdiction and authority to kill Fenwu the second she started massacring everyone in the expedition.
But she never does that because she's 'scared to reveal her technique' FENWU WOULDVE BEEN f*ckING DEAD, SO WHO'S GONNA REVEAL IT?
THE WAYWARD SPIRITS??

{Kindness: Kong Expedition}
Lets cut this into sections. We just did part 1 of 2, regarding Wei-Yi's hesitation and caution getting people killed.
(Dubbed H&C for now)
Lets briefly do how her kindness also gets people killed, then get right back to Part 2 of H&C
Yi-Bai is another issue. She's her friend, sure. But Wei Yi never takes any opportunity to take Yi-Bai out of the picture.
Break her legs, try to knock her out, ANYTHING, but she doesn't DO THAT.
Wei-Yi sits on her ass and allows Yi-Bai to do anything she f*cking wants basically. And yet more people die because of it.
Yi-Bai's presence leads to many deaths later.. Wei Yi could've easily saved a sh*t ton of people if she just nonlethally took Yi Bai out the picture, but she never does that.

{Hesitation & Caution [2]: Kong Expedition}
Part 2
Eventually, they end up in some alternate dimension or whatever the f*ck, my brain turned off at this point, but it's here that the little meager amounts of people left (4 dozen or so, which was previously some hundred if I remember right.) after the earlier massacre are annihilated.
First of all, Wei Yi finds a girl that was one of Yi-Bai's best friends. A short Blonde girl wearing a Tiara who acts spoiled and sometimes refers to herself in third-person. Adorable really.
Wei Yi also leads this group through this new dimension and helps guide a few people through the acts of pill refining and.. Arrays I think.. Almost like proteges.
So she forms little bonds, and basically becomes the leader of this group.
Which is cute really, which makes it ALL THE MORE IRRITATING WHEN WEI YI LETS EVERYONE GET f*ckING BLASTED.
And this time I really do mean everyone.
She fights with Fenwu who tries to merge with the Void Between Worlds, which would basically spell doom for everyone, even in a partially merged state she's on demon-time and is warping the f*cking world around her, so fast barely anyone can react to it.
The first wave, kills Half of everyone there, which was 48 people. Half of that. Dropped dead. All at once. Gone.
Just like that..
The MC is more f*cking preoccupied with Yi-Bai or whatever (The item mind controlling her) rather than DEALING WITH THE f*ckING MORTAL-TURNED DEMI-GOD.
She tries to reason with a brainwashed droid, instead of either instantly incapacitating her, or throwing her extremely far away or dealing with Fenwu.
[All of which are things she establishes that she's capable of doing.]
Shortly after, she goes back to fighting Fenwu,
She's literally snatching Fenwu's clothes off and shit, tryna rummage through each individual pocket for the Token responsible for the mind-control instead of just killing this f*cking idiot.
Something she later says would solve the issue just as well as getting the token anyway.
It's terrible.
Apparently Wei Yi had an entire trump-card that could ONE SHOT FENWU (Basically she uses her strongest energies together..) THIS WHOLE f*ckING TIME..
By the time she kills Fenwu, literally all but a select few people behind her are dead.
She doesn't recognize any of them except Yi Guanyu.
Which means the Blonde Tiara wearing Loli princess, and everyone else Wei Yi has any form of bond with, are all dead.. Directly contributed to her own stupidass actions.
—oOo—
More warped air bullsh*t happens despite the fact that Fenwu died, and the few people behind her start dying once again.
The entire f*cking universe starts falling apart and a portal appears..
Both her and Yi-Bai run through it, and the second they do, it collapses and obviously, since they are the fastest amongst everyone there, that means no one else made it.
The MC realizes this and that she's also severely bleeding and passes out.
Once she reawakens she has yet another realization.. She gave the Assassin Yi-Bai extremely vague directions which means she has no clue where the f*ck Yi-Bai is at, and she's still in Mindless Assassin Mode.
_______________________________
{Disappointment}
So now we know that yeah.. The MC's actions allowed pretty much everyone here to die.
You'd think she'd have immense guilt. {Survivors Guilt}
You'd think the guilt would consume her, since she's in a way responsible for letting things get so out of hand.
[Ohhh lord forgive mee, all the regret and remorse.]
You'd think she'd generally just be miserable.
Well she kinda is but does the author at all try to show that? Ehh, not really.
It's glossed over and forgotten pretty much 10 seconds later.
She only seems to vaguely and slightly acknowledge her fault.. But only barely.. And despite knowing it's her own fault, she doesn't seem to care all that much.
I assumed she was somehow repressing everything and we'd get a breakdown later.. Something to show that she's actually human for once but nah.. We don't get that.
It's like she's some kinda f*cking bird..
__________________________
{Heartlessness: Beginning of the End}
But wait. There's more!
A dif topic tho, but still more!
After she leaves and heads back to her city, one of her masters (The Busty Milf Druid) tells her that there's these two really strong motherf*ckers who are on her ass.
Wei Yi being the shittily written character she is. Goes 'Oh, I have other enemies now'. And hops on about her day.
She basically finds out about the people around her being targeted, and shrugs it off.. She doesn't seem to feel anything.. There's barely any sense of haste or desperation, there is almost no tension..
She was just mindlessly walking from place to place barely caring about disguising herself amongst the common people.
She finds out that.. Yeah.. These guys are f*cking up her shit.
And when she finds someone she knows, dead on the ground, giving her their last parting words, telling her to inherit a f*ckING LEGACY, she just blankly listens then walks away
—oOo—
{deth}
Luo Xiuying, a guy who taught her about Talismans, got slapped up and died.
Light & Dark, both presumably ran away.
Master Yi Yi, The guy who taught her everything she knew about Arrays: dead
her blacksmithing teacher is f*cking paranoid thinking he's gonna die
and when she heads back to the grove to see her milf Druid Master (Chu Ling)
(During which, and ITS ONLY AT THIS TIME, Does Wei-Yi actually exude some aura of tension and fear.)
She hears her master f*cking screaming in the distance, presumably dead or dying, and these two overpowered assholes who were hunting her, are behind her about to rock her shit.
One of her best-friends, a person she views almost like a stupid little sister [is somehow for no f*cking reason at all]: aware of where Wei-Yi is at and also aware that she's in trouble.
She arrives in the nick of time just to get smited and killed.
AND FOR ONCE, FOR ONCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, the MC SHOWS SOME AMOUNT OF EMOTION.
(Not a very significant amount of emotion either. They just say 'a cry of fury', and a brief description of how her library changed or whatever.. It's pretty underwhelming when compared to the tragedy that just befell her.)
But regardless you finally think "Oh sh*t she snapped! Its over! We're finally gonna see something hype!"
But she doesn't really accomplish anything.. They easily withstand her attacks and then effortlessly counter.
And possibly the craziest part of it all.. Is this
The two were almost unharmed, with the only visible damage being a small scratch on the woman's face, and a similarly small tear within the man's robes.
Nevertheless, their expressions conveyed a rage even greater than her own.
You're telling me.. These two goofy goobers, contained a rage surpassing her own, just because their clothes had a small tear on them?
When Wei Yi lost practically everything and has repeatedly been on deaths door and witnessing tragedy and death over the past few days?
A scratch and a small tear in their robes, and they're even angrier than she is?
I have nothing to say. I'm sure my disappointment is palpable.

{Much to be Desired: Prison-Realm}
Oh yeah, and when she asks "why they're doing this" their shitty response was.. "Blame ur parents for giving birth to you"
and then she gets f*cked up and thrown into a Prison-Realm..
Initially I held off on saying anything about it.. I heavily expected a breakdown of some sort..
I don't need to say that I didn't get that.
She never even subtly hints of her tragedy, she supposedly holds a lot of hatred sure, but that isn't worth sh*t when you're writing a story.
Even when the worst things happen to people, and they're spiteful and angry at the world, there is still MORE to them besides that spite and anger..
They still feel other things about it.. They will feel regret and remorse, they may be in a way motivated to do better..
The MC.. Barely has any of that..
Even on the anger and spiteful side, there's barely anything there.
At one point she nearly forgives the two Cultivators who threw her in the Prison-Realm because she thought 'just maybe they're doing what they suspected would be for the better of the world'
And that part drives me insane, even now. She seemingly is more brutal now, but I.. I just can't believe that even happened.
It's so contradictory, right before she can have literal scores of people die infront of her and feel utterly nothing, but now all of a sudden she's sympathetic towards the people who took everything from her?
What?
—oOo—
She loses.. Presumably everything at this point in this story.. And is even tossed off into a far away world where she recognizes nothing..
She walks on foot for what.. 2 days?
With no access to her cultivation, afraid she'll either dehydrate or starve to death, and during this time and even a bit after, never once do we really get any indepth self-reflection..
There's no deep look into her heart and emotions. And when we do get one it's so.. Un-impactful.. It's weak. She doesn't seem to f*cking feel anything despite all the horrible sh*t that went on around her.
She has literally no one, but she never once sheds a tear..
The writer likes to tell how she's feeling rather than show..
When she takes a look at her library, the inside of her mental-scape, she remarks about how her mental-scape is being consumed by hatred basically.. And that.. Was honestly one of the worst cop-outs I've ever f*cking seen..
Instead of trying to depict any anger, or anything even remotely of that sort it's.. Basically just told to us. "Yeah I have alot of repressed anger", and there's literally nothing else to it besides that..

Think about all the emotions one might feel when looking at a grotesque pile of dog vomit.
That is what I'm experiencing right now.
Those are the emotions that have been lingering about, in the back of my mind.. Slowly fermenting into something disgusting, as I read through all these infuriating character-breaking chapters.
The closest we ever got to her showing any negative emotions over these past few arcs was when..
The narrator remarked about her having "Dull almost lifeless eyes" after she's thrown in the prison-realm.. And Chu-Ling (Druid milf) saying that Wei Yi had a sullen look on her face..
That's pretty much it.. It feels.. Weak. It really does.
This is possibly the longest rant I've ever gone on but.. I really liked this story..
Still do. I'm pretty damn passionate about it, in love rather, with my first cultivation novel, so I'm comin on a bit strong.
But my god.. Wei Yi is just such a frustratingly bad character..
She's at a point now where she seems to have zero empathy or sympathy for anyone or anything else.. She developed from this caricature.. Of a protagonist.. Where she was nonsensically heartless..
She kept swapping back and forth from Morally Upright to generally heartless and unfeeling.. If not both simultaneously.. Back then I felt like she was just faking all of her emotions..
But now.. She's straight up and disappointedly evil.. She's a tyrant now. She attacks and kills any and everyone who opposes her in anyway..
Every other faction, every other group, lethal force all the way, no conversations.
She threatens to kill everyone for incompetence which at first, I thought was a joke or a bluff, but now I see that she's definitely telling the truth..
And this sudden huge character change stems from utterly nothing..
She just had a conversation with a person who basically said "Might makes right and everyone's the same yada yada" and now she lives by that memo..
So I guess she Justifies every murder with "Oh, but I'm trying to become the Master of Yi City!" now.. A goal I originally didn't mind, but now I wish she just stayed the stereotypical uninspired protagonist now. It's better than whatever she is now.
It might be temporary, it might be solely an aspect of her environment but I gotta say.. It's doubtful. The energy is not portrayed in a way where you'd assume she could lose almost all reason so quickly..
An affect it may have, sure. To this point? Ehh...
If her character-change is supposed to be blamed on the Killing Intent cultivation and the Malignant Hatred bullshit, then I don't think the concept was hammered into the audience's head hard enough..
I don't think it was ever explicitly said either..
I was never really able to say that Wei Yi was a 'good character', because how she was depicted made absolutely no sense to me at all, but she was still interesting..
There was something about her. I could atleast theorize about her stupid f*cking character-traits, but now?
Her entire personality is her Self-absorption.. She's somehow even more flat and one-dimensional than Henghua..
There's nothing unique, enjoyable, or even vaguely interesting about her now.. I can almost predict the entire flow of conversations and even her next actions, because it'll always be the same shit.
Think about all the emotions one might feel when looking at a grotesque pile of dog vomit.
That is what I'm experiencing right now.
Those are the emotions that have been lingering about, in the back of my mind.. Slowly fermenting into something disgusting, as I read through all these infuriating character-breaking chapters.
and you are just wrong. All above the quote was more or less correct (I would say unnecessarily aggresive) description of what you wanted to get from the novel and didn't get. But there is no break in character Wei has gotten a massive character change prompted by the tragedy Greats visited upon her friends and teachers and her failure in the Kong Grounds. Comparing the novel to dog vomit is just disgusting. It doesn't contain what you wanted it to. It doesn't have an emotive protagonist it doesn't evoke emotions. You are right. It isn't dog vomit for what it lacks it is simply something different from what you like.
@PuffGentle
huh your second comment was somehow worse.
So ehh she was always very detached and cold. She was trying to help those around her from altruism because that was to a degree an instilled value that was not her own. She was raised by her family and that family (despite treating her like trash) did manage to make her believe that a lot of her family members dying is bad, that her ancestors are good and deserve respect etc. These thoughts are rather contrary to her nature and what she herself understands the world to be, this is a conflict of her thoughts and values because people aren't consistent.
I wouldn't say she is outright evil but she is a lot more ruthless. She needs to change the world to her image which she considers to be a good change and is willing to go over corpses for it. I don't think that makes her evil. Right now she is in a position where she needs to accumulate power to have the option to try to change the world for the better so for bow her actions look like those of a ruthless power hungry villain.
The character change doesn't stem from nothing. Yes it did finish when she was talking with Black Terror, that doesn't mean it was only that conversation that caused it. Not to mention what she learned is not that might makes right. What she realised is that Master of Yi City's actions which are generally considered to have made the world a better place were at the time ruthless and their effect was uncertain. Should he have failed his utopia wouldn't have come and he would have just fought and killed a lot of people for nothing. She has decided that she wants to bring a huge change upon the world (kill the Greats tho it will get broadened in the future) that is for the better, and she will do so by methods of one of the most succesful figures in history.
Also what are you talking about this place does make nearly everyone quite aggressive. There are only two characters in here that are implied to be fairly strong that didn't show aggressive tendencies (because they are too busy f*cking like rabbits) that had any significant "screen time"
@Nahmate Ahh yes! The chosen one! The white-knight defending the author against the horrendous villain slandering their work!
It doesn't contain what you wanted it to. It doesn't have an emotive protagonist it doesn't evoke emotions. You are right. It isn't dog vomit for what it lacks it is simply something different from what you like.
This rant obviously has everything to do with "What I wanted to get from the novel but didn't get". Just because it's about what I wanted doesn't disregard anything I said. It doesn't make anything false, or less valid.
This is basically a review. The only reason I didn't actually make it one is because there's still so much more to the story besides this one singular arc.
The problem highlighted in my rant is basically the more objective faults with Wei's character and how she's portrayed.. It's about the overall terrible writing.
—oOo—
Wei obviously feels emotions
The author clearly intends for Wei to be capable of emotions. She is clearly capable OF emotion. But I recognize that obviously she was never meant to be the most emotional person.
However, "Not being very emotional" isn't an excuse for the frankly terrible displays of emotion she has. Even when she expresses her emotions she doesn't.
As I said, she can form bonds. Wei has explicitly stated before that she mostly only feels attachment for those she's close to. And she deeply wishes to preserve the bonds of the people she cares about.
Look at all the nonsense she did for Yi Bai during the Kong-Expedition.. She was a literal assassin, but Wei stopped at nothing to protect her.. Even to the point where Wei's actions directly led to the deaths of dozens upon dozens of her peers.
So Wei deeply cares..
But the writer does absolutely nothing to support that idea.
Wei accidentally sends Yi-Bai (Who's perpetually in Mindless Assassin Limbo) off into f*cking nowhere where they'll likely never see eachother again.
But Wei literally expresses nothing. Wei doesn't linger on the topic for more than A SINGLE f*ckING LINE, before it's gone and she never thinks about her again.
So besides the story's vague indication that Wei is upset about her best friend's disappearance and the deaths of the countless people around her (Which she recognizes as some fault of her own) that's about it.
We've clearly established that SHE DOES CARE, so there IS no explanation for this besides bad writing.
—oOo—
________________________________
Hell, when the person she views as a LITTLE SISTER, ends up f*cking dying the author only describes her emotions once..
'She let out a cry of fury'
And that was the last time the writer has ever focused on the emotions Wei feels about the death of her little-sister figure.
That's it.. And as a reminder, she screamed this in the moment where her sister was killed.
So it's not like this was on a rainy day, the day after her sister's death where Wei is pounding the ground angrily infront of her little-sister's tombstone screaming "HOW COULD THE WORLD!!" while angrily shaking her fist at the sky..
It's a single adrenaline pumped moment of her screaming.
And then Wei presumably from that point on, forgets her little sister existed. So she quite literally, never grieves.. Ever. Or mourns for her even slightly.
Which goes against the entire idea that she cares about the people she's close to. It contradicts literally everything you think you've understood about Wei's character
And again, shortly after her 'cry of fury', she manages to make a slight tear in the Two Strong People's clothing. And the writer said that this ALONE, makes BOTH OF THEM far angrier than she is.
Terrible writing all around. And again, later on she SYMPATHIZES, and almost forgives these two people, when they've taken everything from her. It's contradictory, and honestly just doesn't make any sense from a character perspective.
__________________________________
This story drops everything I thought I understood on it's head.. So I just started thinking "She's either bottling everything up or is a heartless"
The author AGAIN, goes onto correct all my misconceptions.. Apparently, she does feel emotions, and she feels "Hatred" so intense it's literally consuming her mentalscape.
So she hates them that much huh?.. That's why she almost forgives them right? 🤣
Author contradicted themselves..
Wei hates the world so much it consumes her entire mind, but she NEVER expresses any of that. We get THOUGHT BUBBLES for Wei, and we STILL don't see any of this supposed 'Hatred'.
The fact that the writer said "Her eyes were dull and hollow" or whatever the f*ck is the closest we get to an actual display of emotional vulnerability.
—oOo—
But there is no break in character Wei has gotten a massive character change prompted by the tragedy Greats visited upon her friends and teachers and her failure in the Kong Grounds.
As I said earlier.. She's been having breaks in character every goddamn chapter basically, because SHE HAS no character. There is nothing here but a weird caricature for lust and violence that occasionally acts as an anchor for the plot.
She used to explain how she hated unnecessary death & violence.. She thought it was unproductive for one's goals and society and Yi-City as a whole.
She constantly remarked about how Yi City was plagued by such asshattery and she despised it.
Yet in the prison-realm she does the same thing. All she does is kill, hurt and threaten literally everyone around her, and use them for her own benefit.
All of this brought on by a single conversation by a single cannon-fodder person, who said "Everyone has their own goals and motivations, everyone is the same yada yada" and now all of a sudden Wei's a tyrant.
There are no breaks in character tho? You sure?
@PuffGentle first of all you go a lot about how she doesn't express emotions she feels so ehh such people exist. Stoic to a fault that nearly lose their mind to what they feel and think but are just slightly dazed when looked at. That is not a contradiction. The only emotion she ever expressed when in only mild quantities is embarassment about sexual topics otherwise she can poker face through nearly anything unless she is in the middle of combat.
I don't think you realize her once going 'huh by this standard they might be right' while delirious and nearly insane means she nearly forgave them. This is a moment of introspection where she tries to estabilish her worldview and morality so she posits some ideas she doesn't necessarily accept or endorse. Just like Endless Calculation she throws enough sh*t at the wall washes away all the nonsense and is left with something she desires. She didn't accept it, she didn't even consider it IIRC.
You can't really say she posited a different stance before several major changes to her character so now that she has a different one it is a character break.
And I believe I have already stated that her conversation with Black Terror is the final puzzle piece to her new morality not the only one
@Nahmate You stay liking ur own comments 🤨
first of all you go a lot about how she doesn't express emotions she feels so ehh such people exist.
You drooling bastard, WE HAVE THOUGHT BUBBLES.
Writers are not supposed to hide the f*cking emotions from the audience, that just makes it look like SHE HAS NONE 🤣🤣
Just as a reminder, she almost never expresses her emotions. Not outside, not even in her own head and that's the problem..
She's clearly meant to have and feel emotions. That's obvious, but the writer doesn't properly SHOW THAT to the audience..
When Wei is pushed to the brink and broken, THE WRITER DOESN'T PROPERLY ENFORCE THE IDEA.
She's never portrayed in a way that makes it seem like she's affected by anything even though WE KNOW, she is. That's the big idea. She's badly portrayed, & badly and confusingly written on top of that..
I don't think you realize her once going 'huh by this standard they might be right' while delirious and nearly insane means she nearly forgave them. This is a moment of introspection where she tries to estabilish her worldview and morality so she posits some ideas she doesn't necessarily accept or endorse.
What about hatred did you not understand? She intentionally goes out of her way to justify everything they've said and done in a calm and logical manner.
Where's the rampaging hate taking over her mind? Oh it's not there?
You're overthinking something relatively simple. I'm going to tell you what I tell every White-Knight defending the writer.
If it was that f*cking important, they'd have pointed it out.
Or atleast have implied it.
And their lack of doing such, for something so important, is once again an example of Bad Writing..
It's either bad because they didn't think hard enough and forgot to put it, or bad because they didn't think hard enough and now it doesn't make any sense. Double homicide.
—oOo—
These theory crafted, scientific hypothesis of yours, about how the writer made no mistakes don't fawkin matter. It's the writer's job to weave these ideas into the audience's mind, not yours.. If they f*cked up, they f*cked up. That is all.
"And I believe I have already stated that her conversation with Black Terror is the final puzzle piece to her new morality not the only one"
No shit. Obviously it was that and the nonsense Master of Yi-City. You're not breaking any new grounds there.
But that doesn't change the fact that THIS ALONE, this CONVERSATION, with a DUMB STRANGER, was what transformed her into a raving lunatic.. 😂
There were probably a few other neurons clicking together when the author wrote that scene, but they didn't write or imply any of that shit, so it might as well have never happened.
@Nahmate
She was always detached and cold. I completely agree, but "Altruism being an instilled value that is not her own".. What?
The family did originally attempt that, but.. No.. They half-ass it because 9/10 the lower ranked members, Like Wei Yi, are useless anyway.
Nobody instilled any f*cking values in her head because once she was half-decent at sustaining herself, she was living by herself. And then the family actively worked at tearing that "Value" From her mind by treating her like shit.
She's literally explained their entire hierarchy (how they treat servants and lower-ranks badly) AT THE START of the story. 😑
She's always known of their manipulation, she was never affected by it.
___________________________________________
Altruism in general is contradicted throughout the entirety of the Kong-Expedition and the Prison-Realm Arc.
It's even crazier because during the Prison-Realm she's supposed to have 'changed drastically' or whatever the f*ck. Still retained the conflicting Altruism trait tho ✌
She doesn't care about her family.
Sorry to burst ur bubble here but throughout the entirety of the Kong-Expedition, the deaths of those around her only made her consider her own position and how she'll be negatively affected.
Even when she watched them start dying en masse through the portals she stated that "Even though she didn't give a f*ck about the ppl she doesn't personally know, she didn't want to sit around as so many people (in general), perished.." It had nothing to do with her family in particular. And EVEN THEN, she herself put almost no effort into keeping them alive.
She was too focused on hiding her physique, and hesitating to do anything that'd even remotely stop Yi-Bai from killing everyone else.
—oOo—
(Stop overthinking sh*t to defend the author, justifying all their mistakes just convinces them to continue putting out dog-sh*t content and never do better.)
Wei's every action that entire arc was selfish and concerned with only keeping Yi-Bai and herself alive and the secret to her physique safe.. Her actions got everyone f*cked up..
You can look through the expedition again by yourself to see. She doesn't care.
There was a very slightly implied guilty conscience and even then that's only because they were people. Not because they were her family.
—oOo—
_______________________
I wouldn't say she is outright evil but she is a lot more ruthless. She needs to change the world to her image which she considers to be a good change and is willing to go over corpses for it.
That is quite literally the same pseudo-altruistic desire Hitler and Genghis Khan had. 😂
Obviously Wei's is on a larger scale I suppose.. Regardless, my point still stands..
Wei's entire "Oh make the world a better place" spiel, goes against literally everything the author established during the Kong Expedition.
Hypocrisy +1
—oOo—
________________________
Lets establish something.
Wei at the start: I despise these horrible families who kill and abuse their lower-ranked members just to satisfy the higher-ranked children in the hierarchy. They should consider more alternatives to their problems! It'd benefit them more!
Wei at the Kong Expedition: I don't care about the deaths of those around me that I do not personally know.
Wei literally the next line over: I can't just let all these people die
Wei when all these people die: Eh it's okay.
Wei in the prison-realm after losing everything: I should forgive the two people who took everything from me
Wei the next line over: I'll become the master of Yi-City! Lets make the world a better place MY OWN WAY!
Wei a bit later: Slaughtering literally everyone who so much as disagrees with her. Conquering by force and killing everyone without even considering negotiation or just general conversation.
~
The Character-breaks, and the development itself between these points are just terribly written..
That's another problem too, Wei preached about other alternatives to violence and murder, but that's all she does during the Prison-Realm.
Anyone who's not explicitly an ally, is killed by her.
She used to preach how "Oh instead of this you can do this; instead of assassination try indoctrination" yada yada, but look at her now.
Wei has become the asshole she used to rant in her head about, and her lack of awareness to that topic is so f*cking funny.. "For the greater good!" my ass 😂
I wish we had this conversation earlier when I was still reading this and had all these thoughts were fresh in my head, I know I had so much more to say 🤣
—oOo—
"Also what are you talking about this place does make nearly everyone quite aggressive. There are only two characters in here that are implied to be fairly strong that didn't show aggressive tendencies (because they are too busy f*cking like rabbits) that had any significant "screen time"
Oh boy, even a month later there is so much I can say about this.. There are so many alternative reasons for the supposed aggression it's kinda funny you even thought for a second you could chalk everything up to
"Oh it's the malicious energy"
Even if the malicious energy played a part, let me just haphazardly throw some reasons for doubt in here.
💜 MC specializes in mental-techniques.. There are very few cultivators better than her in this regard. Shouldn't she notice the energy in a place affecting her mind?
💜 MC spent days in this realm.. She was still willing to forgive the 2 ppl who took everything from her.. Where was the affect of the energy then?
💜 What about with black-terror? The energy didn't seem to do sh*t then either when Wei was pu**ying out on harming her.
💜 Haven't read this in a bit so i cant remember names, but isn't she pseudo working for a guy right now? He wasn't very violent.
💜 The people at the auction weren't all super violent.
💜 The Tavern Owner wasn't very violent.
💜 The people working under her aren't very violent.
💜 Most people she passes on the streets aren't super violent.
Isn't she literally in a prison-realm where Might-makes-Right? Obviously their circumstances and culture would make the people a bit more violent.
—oOo—
My point is the people of this dimension don't all have their minds warped by the energy and become raving lunatics..
They are still mostly reasonable people with some exceptions.
However, the main character is one of those f*cking exceptions, and that's the problem.
Her development to even becoming one of those exceptions is yet another f*cking problem.
The fact that this kinda back and forth is even possible, with both of us describing ways the MC was both benevolent and caring but also uncaring and detached, is just exposing more about how she was so poorly written and developed.. This conversation is opening up even more contradictions I didn't realize the first time..
You can literally check out the author's newer content and SEE the f*cking difference. They actually explain everything (Going in the protagonist's head) in a logical manner, so there is no confusion.
The personality doesn't just shift and swap at the drop of a f*cking hat, to form what you clearly perceive as some "Grand logical plan" hatched by the author. Stop giving the character a f*cking Psych Eval.. If the writer wants sh*t to be known, they'll make it known.
They are character's written by somebody who wants to tell a story. Not ancient hieroglyphics for us to decipher.
@PuffGentle well I can see how you manage to get a wrong reading so often. Afterall you posit one possible theory and then act as if it's the absolute truth. I didn't like my own comments and even if I did it would change nothing I am having argument on the basis of thoughts I present not an arbitrary number behind them.
"Author doesn't reinforce her emotions and that's a problem" well you should probably prove that one I don't see where the problem lies. Perhaps it makes it a little more difficult to characterize Wei but hey such a magnificent and confident critic like you can't take an issue with that can you?
About her justifying their actions: I went back and skimmed the first two chapters of V2 the only thing that even approaches something similar is she acknowledges that they have some goals they probably consider good while she doesn't. If there is a bit where she goes to justify their every action please do direct me to it because otherwise I will have to just say that you jave exaggarated the notion to the point it is a problem, but without such exaggaration it is quite reasonable (even if a bit non-related to their morality which id why she can adopt a stance against them despite that part bring true)
She was never transformed into a raving lunatic. Yet another gross exaggaration at best and a straight up lie at worst. And you probably didn't notice that she was basically searching for a new worldview and moral basis possibly since Kong Arc definitely since start of V2 and provides a lot of the goals, motivations and hopes for her own, I explained what she extracted from her conversation with Black Terror and what is the final puzzle piece that she needed to actually get a complete moral framework from which her actions stem.
@Nahmate
well I can see how you manage to get a wrong reading so often. Afterall you posit one possible theory and then act as if it's the absolute truth.
Ohh, so because I'm not sitting here theorizing about all the simple sh*t with simple explanations, "I'm the one with the wrong reading"?
Lol. If the writer wants to, they can respond and explain how Wei is a perfectly written character and how they've made no mistakes themselves.
Or you know, just properly emphasize everything from the beginning..
"you should probably prove that one I don't see where the problem lies. Perhaps it makes it a little more difficult to characterize Wei but hey such a magnificent and confident critic like you can't take an issue with that can you?"
Oh, so you're just an idiot then? Welp, that about sums up this conversation, you're just a bumbling driveling ret*rd 🤣
Apparently, [The author shouldn't reinforce any ideas or emotions in their story with actual detail and explanation.]
The audience should just [guess about every character-trait and emotion because the writer is too lazy too explain it], right?
lmfao, undescriptive writing isn't a problem? God, wipe your f*ckin drool man.
@Nahmate
She was never transformed into a raving lunatic. Yet another gross exaggaration at best and a straight up lie at worst.
I'll say this one thing bc I skimmed through the last two paragraphs and found it funny.
Obviously it's a f*cking exaggeration you crusty Neanderthal..
It sounds just like a hurt fanboy who had his delusions shattered, to start nitpicking exaggerated words and metaphors..
Wei is a self-absorbed loser, who feels holier-than-thou. There ya go.. That's an accurate one..
But no-no! Just treat this like twitter echo chambers. Keep feeding into an author's delusions that they can do no wrong. That'll work out well.
@PuffGentle I couldn't reply to your second comment such a shame anyways continuation:
every part where you say she nearly forgave the Greats I will ignore until I get a reference
she did care for her family's values to some extent. Go read what are her thoughts on their Ancestral Hall it is quite obvious some amount of family values was instilled into her. Second while she does say she cares about nearly the whole expedition dying because they are people I don't believe that. Her family values are present and she does not seem to even recognize them when they are and she never cared much for people that aren't in any way related to her.
Wei when all these people die: Eh it's okay.
Wei a bit later: Slaughtering literally everyone who so much as disagrees with her. Conquering by force and killing everyone without even considering negotiation or just general conversation.
And I will have to disagree on these I'm afraid. She isn't eh it's okay. Even if you think that her introspection was not handled well this was obviously something that contributed to her poor mental state until she reconsiled with her f*ck up. Next she doesn't slaughter literally everyone that disagrees with her, she starts a war to grab power she determined she needs and she went to those bandits to yet again grab power (as much as I don't like this particular decision). She does negotiate and discuss when it is likely to work but we have not yet seen such a situation mostly due to the nature of people in the prison realm.
You claim that Wei was some sort of pacifist but she clearly wasn't. She was very willing to resort to violence when there was a clear gain in doing so even if she didn't use lethal force when she could afford it. Why do you think she joined the Colosseum?
First of Meng Chu was also pretty aggresive he went "If you didn't have a proof that you are stronger than me I would have tried to kill you" when she is mildly rude to him. Secondly you might not realize but Wei is the kind of person who uses the best approach to nearly every situation and in this place where nearly anyone with a degree of strength is pretty f*cking aggressive she is even more aggressive so that they all back down and she doesn't need to punch them all.
Stop giving the character a f*cking Psych Eval
Why the f*ck shouldn't I? We are arguing the psychological profile and actions of a character and if they line up doing that part is pretty f*cking important
@PuffGentle At this point this is just an insult fest.
Apparently, [The author shouldn't reinforce any ideas or emotions in their story with actual detail and explanation.]
well of course if you take a stance into an extreme it starts to fall apart heaven forbid we don't do that and instead try to have a proper discussion where both sides merely try to present their case in order to estabilish the truth but nah you gotta be the right side like it isn't likely for the truth to be in between us.
Wei is a self-absorbed loser, who feels holier-than-thou. There ya go.. That's an accurate one..
I don't see Wei being too holier-than-thou though there might be some slight inclinations towards it. Self-absorbed is quite fair. Loser is pretty pointless and I would argue untrue unless you have a special meaning which you should specify than yeah she did lose ~twice. I highly doubt you can make many objective character criticisms where you stress how many times the character lost and with the amount of genuinenity you have displayed so far I will go and make a guess that you included it to make the statement charged and make the writing seem far worse than it is.
feeding into an author's delusions that they can do no wrong.
I did argue with the author on several points and there is probably an entire Arc I will go rip apart so shut up
@Nahmate
Oh, so you're just an idiot then? Welp, that about sums up this conversation, you're just a bumbling driveling ret*rd 🤣
@PuffGentle does repetition of an insult somehow count as an argument nowadays?
@Nahmate Oh I forgot you snort gasoline. Mb I should've made it more clear. Okay bud listen close..
Since you've made it pretty clear that you wanna keep lying to yourself, I took the executive decision to tell you to f*ck off.
You can keep plugging your ears and pretending that Wei's character development and portrayal makes sense, I won't stop you big man.
@PuffGentle is it just me or did you run out of arguments and are resorting to petty jabs at my intelligence and motives to try to make it look like you are correct?
@Nahmate lol. Makin it look like I'm correct.. To whom? 😂
my grandpapi always told me there's no use arguing with a dumb bastard.
If you didn't say something so obviously stupid and desperate I'd still be taking you seriously
But it's clear your desire to prove me wrong won out over your common sense, so alas the fun has come to an end.
"Author doesn't reinforce her emotions and that's a problem"
Well you should probably prove that one I don't see where the problem lies. Perhaps it makes it a little more difficult to characterize Wei but hey such a magnificent and confident critic like you can't take an issue with that can you?
Congrats tho, I've never had a white-knight openly admit that the author doesn't provide any f*cking detail or reaction at all.
But still be deluded enough to turn around and say that it is a good thing..
@PuffGentle by itself it is a neutral thing. Unless you can prove otherwise that is something you have been challenged to do and resorted to insults upon insults.
I don't know for whom you are posturing the obvious possibilities are me, you or the people who aren't participating in this argument or some combination if those 3 and you will be far more likely to figure that one out
@Nahmate Aye, as I said, I try to heed the wise words of my grandpapi..
Also, there's definitely some projection there. 🤠 You nitpicked what you could and avoided those that were harder to disprove 😂
Not to mention you keep f*cking responding when It's clear I don't give a rats ass about you or the previous argument.
There's no way you think anyone actually gives enough of a sh*t to read any of this right?
Whose approval are you seeking?
______________________
Oh wait wait wait Edit! Weren't you on a spree earlier where you kept liking your own comments? Ur Shallow as f*ck for sure 🤣
Definitely the kinda loser to seek approval in internet comment sections, yikes.
A Dumb-Bastard and a Shallow-Rat-Bastard too 😂
I actually feel bad now. I spat on great grandpapi's lessons by even considering having an intellectual conversation with you 🤣 I feel terrible
@PuffGentle were those wise words "when you are losing an argument make up some sh*t saying that doubles as an insult about how you shouldn't continue the argument". Who knows I am definitely not dismissive to the possibility someone reads all the way to here though I will admit it is somewhat unlikely, furthermore supposing that is your stance (it is not mine) why do you persist. I may have skipped over the more general arguments probably because oftentimes general statements are rather hard to argue against but if you think you brought up an excellent point I am obligated to have responded to do bring it up again. You still believe that likes on these comments matter? Laughable. Anyways do have fun being wrong about something as shallow as who liked my comments.
@Nahmate OH MY GOD WAIT! You really are a pretentious redditor aren't you? 😂
Who the f*ck says "Laughable." in an argument 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man you felt so hype cracking ur knuckles and typing up this one, didn't you?
You auto like your own comments bc obviously you like the feeling of those little updoots, man.. 👍 I get it now.
You really let out your inner-demon here didn't you? 😂😂 Got a little mad just now when I called ya out.
Caught red-handed, hand in the cookie jar, and you accidentally let your true nature slip. f*ckin' redditors man. So advanced.
@Nahmate U definitely check your old comments and posts to see how many likes they get.. 😂😂
I can imagine the frown on your greasy cum-stained face when you don't get any 😂
If your goal was ever to keep my attention here (Which it clearly is, you keep saying such interesting sh*t that it instantly provokes a question out of me) damn is it working.
We'll have one boring back and forth and I'll be ready to leave, only for you to drop a new revelation about yourself that makes you an even more efficient punching bag.
Please stop taking precious minutes out of your day arguing on r/News and instead dedicate your time into entertaining me until im bored 😎 It's the most worth you'll have anyway.
@PuffGentle while I did use Reddit once upon a time I no longer do so. Even when I did I had no attachment to an arbitrary number signifying how many likely idiots agree with me.
Now that we have cleared who I am (something that has nothing to do with my points) you should seriously consider what a joke you are acting like, if you did so you wouldn't be surprised why I got the word laughter and it's derivatives stuck in my head while writing a response.
@Nahmate "Arbitrary number" Doesn't seem so arbitrary now, does it? You seem to really like them updoots and internet approval, now, friend.
Fatherless activity ngl..
Anyway, when your drooling ass manages to stumble down the hallway without tasting pavement do your foster parents congratulate you?
Or does one of them suck their teeth and hand the other money?
@Nahmate It is every redditor's defense mechanism to automatically deny using reddit when asked 🤣 You little f*cks convince nobody.
Listen, listen. Stick to what you're good at.
Drooling all over your double chin and hopefully... Just.. Maybe... You can find a little dumbass, double-chinned, idiot like you to fall in love with 💖 👉👈🥺
@PuffGentle if you hope for your insults to be effective I would recommend basing them in reality and not in whatever crazyland you are apparently capable of viewing. Like it is so disconnected from reality you will actually give me a headache I suspect. For example "you lot always deny using Reddit" daheck I did say I used it. you are an actual clown at this point
@Nahmate Nigga you keep responding tho? 😂
Anyway, you failed your wisdom check.
"daheck I did say I used it."
Okay,
while I did use Reddit once upon a time I no longer do so.
I no longer do so.
*Denies using reddit*
*I joke about him denying using reddit*
*He responds with "I did say I used it! Your a clown!"*
Typical redditor sh*t 🤣🤣🤣 You guys are really the cream of the crop.
Complete detriments to society 😂😂
@Nahmate You can't help but respond denying my accusations.
Vehemently snapping back at me like some kinda cornered animal (Unsurprising, I Did call you a dumb rat after all)
but u still have the audacity to pretend that it isn't working? 😂😂😂
It's already working stewpid 😂😂
The whole reason you came here (To prove me wrong and get internet approval and updoots while doing so)
both failed because nobody f*cking cares to read this, and I've already written you off as a reddit-using-pseudo-intellectual
BUT YOUR STILL HERE 🤣 Getting used like a f*cking fleshlight.
An actual bit*h flake is what you are, too sensitive and offended to quit bit*hing, but too f*cking stupid to realize how pointless it is.
You definitely spend 12 hours a day responding to every little comment someone makes disagreeing with you. Staying awake late at night thinking of comebacks to use in a dead-conversation.
I feel bad for you. It must be hard.
@PuffGentle I mean, a childhood without parents, friends and genuinely being treated the way she was is going to mess a person up as far as developing emotional attachments with people. And it's not surprising that her closest was the pillmaster who was mothering to her, letting her feel warmth for the first time, and that she felt less for the others that she had a more business-like relationship to.
Her strongest personality flaw honestly comes from her high intelligence / ability, where she tends to not respect people much that she sees as idiots...which is most everyone. And with her current goals, she is taking the view that every leader has to take - looking at everyone and assigning value to them. That isn't inhuman, unfortunately. There are very few things *more* human than that, for better or for worse.
@skydragonknight Ah, ty for dropping this notification, I completely forgot about this entire conversation, reading through it again was hilarious.
But while I am inclined to agree that she is to some extent assigning value or 'objectifying' her underlings, that isn't necessarily what I've ever had a problem with. Atleast I don't remember.. If that was? It seems about par for the course tbh.
where she tends to not respect people much that she sees as idiots...which is most everyone.
Again that seems about par for the course.. Your mind is like the only thing that gives you worth. Not necessarily intelligence, but if you immediately say some dumb sh*t with utmost confidence (Especially if it is at the detriment to another individual) you lose respect, very quickly.
Such is the case with @-Nahmate lol.
—oOo—
But her fackin emotional attachments, swapping back and forth from "I give a sh*t I'll do anythin for u" (Yi-Bai) to "Whoops you're dead and gone forever, but look I got some new shoes", is just crazy 🤣
I will never see a consistency there, and if I hear one more person try to make it seem like it's not just objectively bad writing I swear I'm gonna go sicko-mode..
@PuffGentle please do go sicko mode since I don't remember her going whoops everyone's dead but I got shoes WTF are you on about.
also for some reason you try to seem confident and then deliberately attempt to not ping me so that I can't display the gargantuan inadequacy of your "points", which makes you seem like someone who can only argue by being "louder" than the opposing party and are bad at that too since you apparently yourself see that you can't keep up
@Nahmate You are still bit*hing and moaning? A month later? Move the f*ck on, I'm not even talking to you anymore. You're like an obsessive Ex 🤣 go get a f*ckin job instead of worrying over a stranger online.
@PuffGentle well I understand that you might be unaware how comment notifications work on this site but they are quite unintuitive. You see I get a notification about this chain getting a reply despite a month passing and it not having a mention of me (due to cowardly attempting to hide it from automatic systems not because you did not use anything at all as a pretext to sling more insults, mind you).
You silly little theories about me are once again wrong but there is admittedly little reason to say it I really gotta wonder why I did.
I'll let you folks continue if you want. Just remember while the site is pretty chill it has terms of service like the rest of them, so keep it tame if you can. :D
@Nahmate Yeah, I aint readin anudda paragraph from u big man That arc in the anime is done and over. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, now wipe ur ass, stop bit*hin and move on.
