Language is one of the most important tools for someone that holds authority over reality. It does not limit one's ability to perceive reality but focuses on perception and attention to the different aspects of it. This is the exact thing that makes it important for authority holders.
Cultures that originate from an extremely arid climate, surrounded by deserts would not say "golden-colored fine sand" to describe a specific kind of sand.
They would have a name for it. Likewise, cultures from arctic climates don't just say ice. They would have different names for different kinds of ice depending on their color, age, and even taste.
Such perception and attention to that aspect of reality give the authority holder that uses that language exceptional power and control over his or her own will, especially when casting on that aspect.
Therefore, It is suggested that an authority holder be multilingual. Not at the level of a native of course. But authority users are expected to know different words from different languages to refine their Imperial.
Imperial, by no means, is not a language. It is a specific jargon that authority holders choose to use, and it is a very nice jargon I must add. Alas, all empires have such jargons, that no one can speak in the streets and no educated can write. Thus, named the Imperial... The jargon of each, every, and all empires that there are, there has been and there is going to be.
Authority holders don't use their native languages or even spoken languages to cast their wills in case they accidentally trigger or miscast. They use the jargon, Imperial, to cast their wills, and the more refined they're in Imperial, the better they can project their wills. The better use of the Imperial is often considered the only thing that differentiates between a novice and an expert.
Thus, the discovery and even invention of different languages are considered a prestigious endeavor amongst authority holders. It is such that, sometimes new languages are not named after the society that speaks them but the discoverer or the publisher of the language who brings the language to the use of the authoritative societies, and communities of authority holders.
Authority holders create specific societies whose purpose is to bring authority holders with similar tastes and pursuits together. Membership in some of these societies is considered a great honor for people of high social standings including the ruling class.
However, the real prestige for an authority holder is always considered to be able to cast his will upon reality with a single word, thought, or gaze. Such is the demeanor of a real expert and the exact meaning of a trigger.
Remember... If the mental image is the accuracy, then the trigger is the precision. They say words have power and one that knows the names of the things holds power over them. But in practice... Names have no power of their own, that is simply what we want others to believe.
Authority is the power and holders wield it. Words simply provide the means to use that power precisely. That is why you should never give your wielded name to anyone unless you want to give such an advantage to them.
