"I order you to kill The Sword Saint!" V's command echoed inside L's muddled mind. An order! She had been given the order to kill. Nothing mattered anymore but killing... L’s tainted mind shivered with delight as the command from the emperor came, the command to kill! L immediately activated her newest ability, "Last strike." She would give everything to kill this foe! Kill for honor! Kill for the Emperor! Kill for V! Kill for the joy of it!

V watched as what could only be described as frozen fire erupted from L's back. The flame was purple, it moved like fire, but its motions were slow and lethargic. The edges of the flame looked sharp somehow, and as the fire burned the air grew colder, the smell of sulphur issuing forth from her. These purple flames also erupted from both sides of her head, forming the image of horns. The flames from her back grew into the shape of wings. Even from this distance, V could tell that the fire was damaging L, her skin was becoming reddish blue where the fire touched her; frostbite.  Horns, wings... V had no choice but to assume his command had allowed L to tap into her demonic abilities somehow. Given the circumstances, V hoped that the stories about the demon's power were not exaggerated. On the other hand, he hoped that this did not somehow amplify the curse of violence she was afflicted with, or otherwise cause her to run rampant.

"Oh wow! That is unnatural." The female elf exclaimed, finally removing her head from her companion’s shoulder as she straightened up. The male elf nodded, "We are going to need to report this. As well as your death." He bowed his head to the Champion of Violence before the male elf pulled out a strange spherical device. After a moment of fiddling with it, he and his female companion disappeared. The Champion of Violence scowled. He was unsure what exactly the woman with flaming wings was doing, but the twin’s intuition had not been wrong yet. It was possible he was, in-fact, about to die. If he ran, U would kill him next time she saw him. He had asked her to lend him the Sword Saint after all. He cursed; how could things have gone so wrong? His plan was perfect, even the others thought it would work. How did that useless man free himself and his rabbit child? His gaze turned toward V before moving onto Eika. If he was going to die, he would not allow them to escape unscathed.

V suddenly jerked. The voice of an old man was screaming in his mind, "KILL THE GIRL! KILL THE RABBIT!" V's heavily damaged body started quickly moving toward Eika. What was he doing? A status window had popped up... something about Violence? V could hardly parse his own thoughts, the overwhelming command to kill Eika driving him toward her. Wait? Why would he kill Eika? Didn't his blessing remove the curse of Violence? As the air grew colder around him, he approached Eika. "What is going on with L?! Will everyone be ok? Should we be running?!" Eika asked V, before she saw the blank and confused look in his eyes. "Uh... hello?" V struggled against the confusion. No... no he can’t hurt Eika. Why would he do that? "KILL THE-" V's thoughts were interrupted as he was thrown off of his feet, crashing into city walls.

L had suddenly charged the Champion of Combat. Bringing her sword down upon the shield he had braced himself behind. The strength of the strike caused a shock wave of such force that only she was still on her feet. The wooden buildings closest to her exploded into splinters as the shockwave collided with them. The Champion of Combat was driven into the stone underneath of him, his shield however, still did not give. L's sword seemed to take personal offense to this, as her sword also burst into purple flames. The sound being emitted from the struggle of sword and shield was like that of twisted metal and shearing steel. After a second of uncertainty, the Sword Saints shield collapsed, shattering into pieces. The blade continued, cleaving the Sword Saint into two pieces.

The moment the strike was finished L collapsed, the fire vanishing alongside her consciousness. V blinked, trying to see through the dust and debris in the air. His thoughts still were screaming at him to kill, but it no longer had a target, the voice was no longer an old man's, but his own. Blearily he looked around, his broken body refused to lie still, the urge to kill was overpowering. His gaze fell upon an old man, laying outside the city gates. V stood up, blood pouring from his open shoulder, as well as his waist. As he walked toward the helpless man, he picked up L's sword from her unmoving body. It burned his hand as he held it. It was also screaming in his head now. V could not tell what it said, he was too focused, too driven. He must kill. V limped over to the man, who was just starting to recover from his collision. "Eh...? No... not me... I ordered you to kill the-" before the Champion of Violence could finish his sentence, V drove the sword through his mouth, impaling him through the brain.

As soon as the curse was undone, V's body and mind gave out, collapsing into the dirt. V was unsure how much time had passed, but eventually his senses returned to him. Slowly. His first cognizant thoughts where that of surprise that he was still alive. He struggled to open his eyes; his body felt like it weighed a million pounds. "Hey! Someone! I think V needs help!" V heard a voice; it took a few moments to figure out it was Luna's. Still unable to properly open his eyes, V strained to regain control of his body. A feminine voice called out to him in the darkness of his condition. "Shhhhh stay still, its ok now. The long night is over." A cool towel was placed on his head. "Why...ca..." V struggled to speak, his throat felt dry and cracked, his head pounded, he still could not open his eyes properly.

"Calm down, you’re going to hurt yourself." The voice sounded kind, but spoke sternly. "Luna, go find Eika, maybe she can hold him still. I cannot spend too much time on V, there are many who need help." As V's hearing slowly recovered, he heard moaning, crying, and all manner of noises indicative to suffering. "Whe... am...?" The feminine voice spoke, as someone grasped his hand. "You are safe here; I am trying to help the victims of the city." V heard frantic footsteps "Is V alive!? Eika was so worried!!!" The feminine voice spoke to Eika as she ran over. "He needs to lay still and quiet, otherwise he might not be alive for long." V felt small hands gently cradle his head. The pain and confusion he felt soon overtook him, and he lapsed into unconsciousness once again.

"You are not welcome here!" V's consciousness returned abruptly as he heard the woman's voice. Rather than comforting however, her voice carried enough venom to kill an elephant. "Leave or I will make you leave." V managed to force his eyes open. This proved to be a huge mistake, the light nearly blinded him and the sudden return of visual information made him feel faint. Before he was forced to shut his eyes again, he saw a large woman, perhaps as large as O? She seemed to be yelling at someone... V had seen that person before. As V's consciousness slipped from his grasp once again, he realized it was J. "You do not understand. I MUST investigate the city! It is of great importance!" V failed to hear the women's response.

"V you need to wake up! Eika thinks there is going to be trouble!" Eika spoke quietly and gently, but her voice carried a sense of urgency. "I think Alice and the Champion of Fire are going to fight!" V groggily opened his eyes. His body was still failing to carry out most of his commands, but he seemed to be able to see now at-least. All around him were people laying on what he could only describe as sleeping bags. All of them had some form of treated or wrapped injury. A few tents and pavilion like structures had been erected in order to shield them from the sun, although it appeared to be night time at the moment. Also, he could see the city gates from where he was laying. It seemed whoever set all this up did so right at the entrance of the city. Eika was setting on the ground next to him, "Eika, I... I can’t move. I can hardly breath."

Struggling to look down at his shoulder, he saw it was wrapped. However, the pain and the struggle he faced while breathing clearly indicated it was not healed. His back also seemed to be in some form of simplistic brace, not allowing him to twist much in either direction. His leg was also tightly bound and braced. His waist had been bandaged, but he could feel a small amount of blood still leaked from the location. "I know, but Eika thought you should be awake! Maybe you can do...something?!" V could hear loud voices off in the distance, someone was arguing. "Eika, I ca-" V coughed, causing an intense wave of pain that caused him to once again swoon. "I can't do anything. Maybe L can help you?" At the mention of L's name, Eika's face took on a new expression of concern. "Uh... L hasn't woken up. Her whole body is broken or something. Alice says she will recover though! .... maybe." Eika added the last word quietly.

He tried to shake his head. "We can't do anything about it. I can hardly stay awake as it is. If the champion of fire attacks us, just run. There is nothing you can do for us." Eika shook her head. "No! No, I can’t leave you guys behind! I cannot leave another family behind..." Eika's eyes became watery. V struggled to speak; his mind was quickly begging to fade again. "Take Luna with you. You will not be alone that way." V wanted to apologize to Eika for almost killing her, even if it was driven by the curse, but his energy had run out, and he faded a third time.

Awakening again he finally noticed the status window that had been blinking the whole time, he needed to choose the reward from the Champion of Violence's death. Even though his thoughts still came slowly, the blinking window was causing him a headache, he had to get rid of it. As was relatively common, he had no idea what class the old man had. The man's blessing also disgusted V, it had almost caused him to kill Eika. Again, it came down to a letter, but which one? As V's slow and muddled thoughts tried meander through the situation, he wondered if it even mattered. Assuming they were rebuilding their forgotten names, by the very nature of the task, he could not make an informed decision. If his name was forgotten, how would he choose a letter to rebuild it? On the other hand, L's name did appear to be listing toward "Lily" or perhaps "Lilly." On the other hand, she came from a different world from him, perhaps her name was "Liltiandra" or something. V thought it was a shame that there was no E, he could replace the one that was promised to Eika that way. Although, if he was thinking long term...
