Seven days later…

“Consort Wang, it is I eunuch Song, I come with a message from the emperor.” Hearing that it's from the emperor Jae Hyun walked up to the door, opened it peaking his head out. Eunuch Song stared at the young man who looked at him, “My lady is asleep in her bedchamber.”

Handing the letter to Jae Hyun, “Please hand this over to Consort Wang.” Nodding his head, he closed the door behind him and waited for them to leave. Once they left Jae Hyun walked towards the palace and under the lamp, he opened it reading, “Her Highness, Consort Wang Chushan has hereby been dismissed from her service as the Crown Prince’s fourth consort reason being, she is a danger to the Crown Prince’s household. With regards to Wang Chushan being the daughter of General Wang, her punishment will be lenient. An issue of divorce requested by His Highness the Crown Prince has been submitted and approved by the emperor.”

Closing the letter, Jae Hyun felt relieved, placing it into his sleeve he went to see his lady, “Who was it and what do they want?”

“My Lady, you have been dismissed as the consort and because the General has relations with and is favoured by the emperor, you have been lightly punished with a divorce only, My Lady, I will get our things ready to leave.”

Her three attendants almost smiled hearing this but quickly hid it away; excusing themselves they followed the Jae Hyun and started packing up. Staring at their parting backs she felt something drip down her face, reaching to touch it her heart squeezed and the tears falling, fell faster.

Hugging her knees she cried her heart out while screaming. The pain she felt consumed her, pulling her hair, muffling her screams but still nothing helped. Her crying became worse as the hiccups came, choking her. Ji Min couldn’t take it anymore and left what she was doing to comfort her lady but that too did not help, it only made things worse.

Amidst all the crying, dizziness and heartache, she fell asleep, Jae Hyun and Ji Min put her in bed and covered her, leaving a lamp of incense to burn and comfort her in their steed.

Their lady slept throughout the day not waking up. Unable to ask her if they should start moving her things, Jae Hyun took it upon himself to get a wagon and started transporting most of the chests that carried their lady’s and their things to the safe house in the capital city further away from the palace which the royals and her family did not know about.

Leaving through the back, he was spotted by Dong Woo and the Crown Prince who just returned from a gathering… Jae Hyun glanced over at them, bowing his head and continued on his way while ushering the horse pulling the wagon.

Frowning Wu Yong asked Dong Woo, “Did she already leave?”

Dong Woo, “Wu Yong, I’ve been by your side the entire morning, I don’t know.”

Wu Yong, “Well it doesn’t matter.”

Arriving at the empty household of his lady, he opened the doors and went in locking it behind him. Looking around Jae Hyun saw that it was cleaned and called out, “Mama Liu.”

The housekeeper mama Liu was a servant of Wang Chushan that was previously kicked out of her house because she could no longer pay her taxes. With her husband dead and her children grown up, wanting nothing to do with her, she could only turn to live on the streets and after five days and nights, she met Chushan who was looking for a housekeeper between the homeless. When Chushan introduced mama Liu to the house, she bowed and thanked Chushan with tears in her eyes.

This house was used whenever Chushan left the palace secretly and whenever she asked to see her parents as an excuse to leave. Now it seemed as though she made the correct decision purchasing the house now that she’s been relieved of her duties and out of the palace.

Mama Liu, “My dear child, how have you been?”

Smiling brightly he answered, “Well but exhausted, my days are restless and busy. Mama Liu, madam Jiang will be returning soon and I’ve come to drop off hers and our things.”

Mama Liu, “Come, come.” She urged him to come in and helped him unload the chests.  He returned later in the evening, stopped by the guards but let in. Arriving inside he saw that he still had many more chest to transport and so after he was given food by Hye Jeong, he loaded the wagon again and left… Sleeping at the courthouse he returned the next morning where the four women were waiting for him.
