Sam ordered Sarah to move over and then asked me to move over, she then sat next to me. Sam continued to talk to Dan, “Dan, I saw something funny as I was heading to your boat. It was some bitch who was crying because she almost stepped in bird poop, you wish that was something that would make you cry.”.

“I slept in alleys covered in poop because that’s the only place I could be left alone to sleep. I got used to the smell, took 2 years till I could ignore it.” Master said.

“So many people at the top are spinless and insults alone can make them cry, then there is the opposite as well. There constantly thinking there the best person ever and yell at any one who inconveniences them a little, both are awful to be around.” Sam continued.

“How did you end up so different, you were raised in the same culture yet you didn’t end as either?” Master asked.

“I saw growing up how petty my parents and every one around me was, always wanting to show off and caring about petty stuff. I personally never cared for make up, nice clothes, jewelry and more. Its all worthless and does nothing of value, yet so many people loved them. Always having parties with lots of food while others were starving, honestly just getting drunk was fun enough for me and didn’t need all the extra formalities.” Sam told him.

“That’s why I can enjoy being around you.” my Master responded.

“I knew that others loved all that petty stuff so I got the idea to sell it since the fools would buy it, I have to pretend to be someone else in public. I hate it so much but it helps me make money, at least at home I can be myself.” she finished.

“So do you get along with your parents and do they know the real you or your act?” I asked.

“Be careful what you ask her.” Sarah whispered to me.

“Shut up slave.” Sam said as I panicked.

“Orange, did I give you permission to speak?” Sam told Sarah.

She just shut up and looked away. Sam then looked at me “They don’t know the real me, they think they do but they don’t at all. If they knew how I really saw the world they would hate me.” She told me.

“Funny, its like my mom growing up but she hated me already and blamed me for everything.” I told her.

“What you do?” she asked.

“Exist” I said.

“Was she a heavy drinker?” I was asked.

I stopped for a moment and remembered something, I had forgotten about this for years and didn’t want to remember. When she picked me up by the neck and tossed me against the wall, I was little so I was easy to throw. Then the beating, I unfortunately didn’t get knocked unconscious and had to feel it all. My sister heard what was happening but didn’t care to help, that bitch.

“Lin, Lin are you okay?” I heard as I snapped out of it.

“You looked terrified, sorry I made you remember something bad.” she told me as she hugged me.

“Its okay, I’m fine.” I lied to her.

“No your not, you don’t have to tell me what happened but don’t lie.” she told me as she let go.

We changed topics and kept talking for the next hour. Until I was told to get on the turret and be ready to fight. I turned the turret around keeping lookout as ordered, what would a pirate ship look like?
