Two people stared at each other.

"So, why are you here?"

The black haired girl looked at Kiara with caution.

Kiara paused to think, before puffing her chest up.

She stared back with confidence.

"I am temporarily living here now."

Black haired girl, "..."

"Huh?"

Confused sounds?

"I am living here."

Kiara puffed out her chest even more.

"No no, what. Why did you start—when did you start living in my house?"

The black haired girl panicked, raising her finger and pointing it at Kiara.

"No no no. I'm not living in your house."

Kiara smiled.

"Then what?"

The black haired girl was confused.

"I'm living OUTSIDE your house."

Kiara cleared a patch of grass and sat down.

She looked at the black haired girl with a smile.

Black haired girl, "..."

"Oh I'm going to kill—"

Black aura started emanating out of her body.

"—wait wait wait!"

Kiara waved her hands, cutting her off.

She broke out in a cold sweat.

That was dangerous.

She felt the destructive properties of the energy.

It could potentially hurt her even with a mana barrier.

She stared at the smokey black aura floating around the black haired girl with slight fear.

"What now?"

The black haired girl stopped gathering the black aura, but she didn't take it back either.

"Um. Let's be friends?"

Kiara said hesitantly.

She could feel her smile warping into an awkward one.

The black haired girl stared at her.

"Enough with the jokes."

"What are you doing, and why are you back here?"

The black haired girl asked.

Kiara's smiled turned into a serious one.

"I want to have a talk."

Kiara replied.

"Then we will."

The black haired girl looked at Kiara cautiously, but saw that she's serious.

"Meet me later outside. Midnight should be fine."

Kiara nodded.

...

Kiara left.

The black haired girl stared at Kiara's fading silhouette.

In the depths of the black haired girl's eyes, a blue glow flashed.

What a stubborn girl.

She thought.

The black haired girl went back inside the house.

Sssss——

Black film immediately covered the inside of the house.

...

Inside the house.

The black haired girl stared straight at a mirror.

She stood still for a moment, before a change happened.

Her reflection twisted and turned.

It turned into a taller, white haired version of her.

Her eyes are also blue.

It was like she's facing her future self, completely opposite of her current appearance.

She thought that it was a pity that something around her chest didn't improve though.

'That's rude.'

The white haired girl frowned.

The black haired girl stopped.

"I'm sorry."

The black haired girl bowed at the white haired girl.

'Luna, you still haven't changed.'

The white haired girl stared at the black haired girl—Luna—in interest.

"I won't."

Luna lowered her head.

The white haired girl smiled.

'I know. I'm just making sure you're keeping your promise.'

She stared at Luna.

Luna didn't raise her head.

Both went silent.

...

A minute passed.

'What do you think about that girl?'

The white haired suddenly asked.

Luna's breathing stopped.

"She's scary."

She shivered.

'Heh.'

The white haired girl chuckled.

'You suddenly know how to feel fear?'

"..."

Luna was silent.

'How ironic.'

The white haired girl crouched down and looked at Luna from below.

'The self proclaimed master of the mind is scared of a mere child?'

She grinned.

'You're a lot stronger you know?'

Luna didn't respond.

She kept shivering.

The white haired girl suddenly stopped grinning.

'I shouldn't have chosen you if you're that timid...'

She looked at Luna seriously.

"...not that.."

Luna muttered.

'Hmm?'

"It's not about who's stronger..."

Luna said.

'Then what?'

"That girl..."

Luna looked outside and stared at the direction where Kiara disappeared.

"...She's a Regressor."
