"So you are saying that this Devil, Diodora, is the one Asia healed back then and he wished for her to join his peerage as an apology ?"

"Indeed Basara-sama."

Lucia nodded after explaining everything that happened while they were out shopping. 

Still, the more he heard her, the more uncomfortable he got.

In the end, he couldn't help but ask, 

"That Diodora. He is a high-ranked devil, right? Be it socially or in terms of power. He is also related to one of the Maou isn't he?"

"That's so. While not a direct sibling, he is indeed related to Ajuka-sama."

This caused Basara to frown even further.

High-ranked devils were powerful beings few humans, even trained exorcists could face. The place where Asia lived was just a minor branch of the church and didn't even have any Holy sword wielder or Sacred gear holder. 

What was a powerful devil doing alone in such places and how was he wounded?

In the first place, who would dare to wound him?

Even if by some luck a powerful Exorcist was in the zone, they wouldn't attack him as long as he did nothing bad. The peace was too fragile now.

Aside from that, Ajuka was one of the top 10 most powerful beings in the world. Only a great hatred would push someone to attack a relative of that man.

Finally, why? After being as wounded as described, he decided to take a church as a place of protection?

Church were sanctified place and for a devil, this was in no way a safe place. In fact, it would only make his wounds worse.

By some luck, he managed to appear in front of the only one, out of all those in the church, who could heal him, and for some reason, as soon as he was healed, Asia was discovered.

'This is a little too fishy.'

Basara wondered for an instant if he was jumping at shadows. Perhaps he didn't like the fact that this man was chasing after Asia?

Still….

'Better be safe than sorry.'

"Basara-sama?"

"Hum?"

"This isn't all. He also expressed his wish to meet us in two days on Kuoh academy grounds alongside the two governors of the city, Rias Gremory, and Sona Sitri."

"Why?"

"To discuss about an S ranked criminal that entered the city."

Basara's eyes narrowed. He thought back to the flirty Black haired cat and then also thought about the cute but lonely White cat.

'This is going to be troublesome.'

Basara would later know that this was the understatement of the year.

While Basara had a premonition of the trouble ahead, one of the causes of said trouble, a beautiful black-haired woman with cat hair and golden eyes was busy munching on a burger while watching a show on the TV.

No matter how powerful she was, Kuroka had to admit that the convenience of the human world could never be understated.

"Nyaa~! I wonder when Le Fay and the others will come for me."

Her situation was pretty awkward. Her wounds were worse than she thought. It seemed that they had used some kind of poison on her and because of that she had a hard time using her spatial magic.

Space magic like teleportation was extremely demanding on the details. If she used it in her current state, it was a wonder where she would appear.

Kuroka did not wish to gamble with her life and as such, all she could do was live as a hikikomori and wait for her team to finish their missions and realize she was missing.

Le Fay was one of the humans and the sole true mage of their team and a very skilled mage despite her young age.

Kuroko would have loved to simply leave the house and escape the city but if she made a mistake, those bastards might capture her.

This was truly a complicated situation with nearly no way out.

…At least, it would seem so.

'Should I ask for his help?'

Kuroka mused as she took another bite. 

Basara Toujou. The Red dragon emperor and the only one she knew in this town that might give her help.

The only problem was…"He is living with a powerful Devil. Furthermore, Koneko might have sniffed me on him."

Kuroka saw some summoned creatures inspect the zone more deeply. Clearly, the peerages were going all out to capture her.

As for Basara, while he saved her and the short morning they spent together was quite amusing, it was hard to say how he would welcome her now that he knew that she was a criminal.

Still,

"Ugh…Stupid mating instincts."

Kuroka whined and placed down her burger. She had been tortured by those instincts during all the week.

With her skills, it should have been rather easy to control and stop them but whenever she thought about him, they would come back in force.

This was one of the reasons she wanted to see him. 

In the end, she sighed,

"Should I bet on him?"

Kuroka did not trust in other people as much anymore. Even in Vali's team, it took her quite a bit of time before she was comfortable enough to work with them.

This was why, instincts or not, she was really hesitating about putting her life in the hand of a stranger.

She was a stray cat after all.

"Let's do it."

Waiting for Vali was the safest solution but sooner or later, her enemies might find this place, and then she would be completely helpless.

Rather than waiting and so helplessly, she would rather give it a try.

Who knows? Perhaps he would surprise her.

Her lips were pulled into a smile despite her. She might not accept it, but she was really hopeful.

After all, Basara had all the potential necessary to be worthy of becoming the father of the new Nekoshou race.

"Let's do it tomorrow."

She laughed as she worked on finishing her food.

She would need all the energy she could get.
