Back to Nekomiya Residence.
Returning from Nia's house, Rimu planned to rest lazily in front of her computer... Or so she planned. Unfortunately, she wouldn't have the time to do so.
There was one email in her inbox. Rimu quickly opened it up.

Greetings Rym-sensei. I want to commission a few artworks for my novel, [The Chronicles of Mad Villainess]. It's not that much, only 1 portrait for each of my characters in the introduction, and 2 pictures for each of my chapter. I will pay you handsomely for each of the pictures you draw. Do you accept my commission, Rym-sensei? If you accept, I will summarize the details thoroughly. |
Rimu quickly opened the URL of Kurumin-sensei's novel and counted how many artworks she had to draw. She couldn't help but gasp with the sheer number. Kurumin-sensei truly is a capable writer, the scroll bar has been dwarfed by the huge number of chapters.
Characters... One, two, three... Forty-three, Forty-four... 44 pics.
Chapters... Ten, Twenty, Thirty, Forty, Fifty... that means 100 pics.
"Huk, 144 pics? Seriously, Kurumin-sensei? And you still call this 'few'?"
Rimu couldn't help but be intimidated, drawing for that many will definitely exhaust her. Although it was true she had the skill for drawing and could draw a pic in less than 5 minutes it also had to be noted that she was drawing on paper and scanning it manually, then erasing the drawing to reduce paper costs. Imagine her doing it 144 times over.
She was not a machine that could mass-produce artwork!
"This was still manageable if only I had my drawing tablet... But... argh!
I should have asked for a tablet instead of a smartphone. This one is too small to be used for drawing!"
Rimu lamented. However, refusing was not an option. For the sake of her future, she can't slack off.
Besides, this was also an opportunity. With this kind of big order, she has the reason to ask for advance payment.
Rimu quickly sent her reply.

Accepted, send me the details. However, for this commission, I have to take ¥10.000 as an advance payment. Send it to my PayPay <QR Code> and I will start working immediately. |
As she pressed the send button, she got a reply shortly after.
"That was fast!"
It seems, Kurumin-sensei was standing by her computer, and perhaps she has also prepared her reply in advance.

Thank you for accepting my commission, Rym-sensei. These are the details of my request: ∇ Attachment: a.docx I had sent the advance payment to your PayPay, please check. |
A docx file... Rimu's eyes twitched. There is no Microsoft Word here.
'Kurumin-sensei, why do you like to make my life harder?
Why you didn't -ing paste it along with the email!?'
Rimu holds back the irritation in her heart and uploads the file to Google Docs. It's not that hard of a chore, but it's just her mood was in a bad state. Making her do another extra step was worsening it further.
Fortunately, after she saw her balance, her mood instantly brightened.
"Hmm, ¥11.5001Chapter 24: ¥250
Chapter 26: +¥200 (Arakano Akio)
Chapter 26: +¥4050 (Pumya)
Chapter 30: +¥10000... That's almost 3 months worth of my current allowance.
It's as if I received my new year money in advance!"
Rimu giggled. Even Riku shouldn't have that much money right now.
For just a moment, she felt she was superior to him. But, she quickly erased that thought.
'No, I can't be complacent. Remember, Rimu! He is a CEO... A -ing CEO!
Billions flow into his pocket daily, a mere ¥10.000 is nothing.'
Rimu shook her head, comparing talents will only make her depressed. She resolved herself to work harder to compensate for her lack of talent.
Now that she has the money, she immediately browses Mercari2Japanese equivalent of eBay and clicks the search button. She selected one of the entries.

"Umu~ This one is fine, quite cheap but feels good for drawing," Rimu added the item to her cart.
But she hasn't finished yet. Since there was a fee each time she did a transaction, she might as well buy everything she needs in one fell swoop. She searched for various items before proceeding to the payment.

Total spending: ¥9.958 (with tax and processing fee, ¥10.356).
Rimu licked her lips, "Now I can build a DIY 3D Printer! This will cut a lot of my expenditure in the future."
Remaining balance: ¥4.144
Satisfied with the purchase, Rimu nodded to herself. She sent her confirmation to Kurumin.

Will start working tonight. Completed works will be gradually sent via email. Estimate time completion: 1 week. |
"Until my tablet arrives, I guess I still need to draw using the usual method... For now, let's finish up 20 character illustrations tonight."
Rimu took her pencil and started drawing.
Erasing to reuse paper o.O
Yup, Rimu's previous life was in poverty, so she retained her stingy mentality.
Simplicity At It’s finest
Hmm very doable by playing with light settings in gimp to hide feint lines. Can probably make 3 drawings on each side of the page before it becomes unworkable
3k yen is a pretty reasonable price to be honest! I'd buy one of those . . . . . . if I didn't want to give people nightmares of my illustrations.
Thanks for the chapter.
Since the rewind power basically runs in the family, would Riku have it and attribute to his future success?
If so, that means he didn't have enough regret for the fate of the future sister too.
Maybe that ability only girl can use it, or maybe because in previous timeline Riku and Rimu relationship is quite bad.
Yup, he does have it.
However, he is totally talented and could achieve success without any hitch.
He didn't have enough regret to trigger the rewind.
Thnx for the chapter! :D
Thanks for chappy!
I use xp-pen 24 pro as a monitor.
