Standing close and feeling weak in his arms, our bodies pressed against each other, I was ready for my first kiss.

He played a prank and tricked my heart into beating faster for him.

His hands left my neck, and as I opened my eyes, I felt something soft on my cheeks. He was wiping my lips with a tissue and whispered in my ear, "Don't surrender your body to me so easily. You don't even know what I might do to you." The devilish smirk on his gorgeous face seemed unfair.

The irritating agony I felt in my heart was a new sensation, and he was the one who made me feel that way.

I was highly irritated and desired to make him feel my agony. I sprung forward, wrapping my arms around him and biting him on the neck. The astonished look on his face made it clear that I caught him off guard.

"You never hesitate, do you?" he asked.

I proudly shook my head in response.

He brushed some cake cream with his index finger and rubbed it onto my neck.

"But then again, that's what makes you attractive," he said before pulling me into the strong grip of his muscular arms.

Without giving me a chance to react, he placed his gentle lips on my neck, licking the cream off my skin and sucking on the same spot. I clenched my teeth, trying to stifle a moan.

His fingers slid from the bottom to the top, tracing the side zipper of my dress. Restless and filled with wild imaginations from earlier, my mind raced.

His hand stopped at my armpit.

His mischievous fingers tickled me.

"Amm.. Aah!" I couldn't suppress my voice any longer.

My legs grew weak, and the electrifying feeling of his touch caused me to lose my balance. Leaning my forehead against his chest, I exclaimed, "Victor...! ...huh... Stop!" But it had no effect on him.

Slam! To my luck, Jennifer barged into the kitchen and he immediately backed off. I noticed a shining red jewelry box, the kind used to keep rings, firmly held in her hand.

"Oh! I'm sorry. Am I interrupting you two?" Jennifer teased with a mischievous grin.

I felt too embarrassed to face Aunt Jen, so I hastily rushed out of the kitchen door, feeling unsteady on my feet. Leaning against the wall, I took deep breaths to calm my racing heart.

Once I regained my senses, I couldn't help but imagine the cute, shiny box with the golden Mockingjay symbol. I knew that symbol well—it belonged to the biggest jewelry shop in the country, renowned for its exclusively designed limited edition engagement rings! I didn't need to open the box to confirm the beauty and intricacy of the ring inside. It would undoubtedly be a magnificent piece. A thought crossed my mind: "I wish Victor could propose to me with a Mockingjay ring."

"Wait...!"

"What...!? What am I thinking?"

"I'm getting way ahead of myself!" I stood outside the kitchen, blushing and lost in my daydream.

Victor and Aunt Jen spent quite some time in the kitchen. As I waited, I wondered about their conversation. Aunt Jen gave me a look as if she was expecting good news from me when they finally emerged.

We said our goodbyes, and Jennifer planted a gentle peck on my right cheek. "Visit me anytime, dear."

Aunt Jen had been a wonderful host, and I had made beautiful memories at La Bakery thanks to her.

Victor drove us to a luxury restaurant. I was familiar with the environment, as my sister had treated me to delicious meals in several 5-star establishments.

Upon arrival, we were escorted to our pre-booked table. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner.

We ordered steak as our main course, along with some delectable side dishes. The waitress recommended their finest wine, and we decided to go for it.

We clinked our glasses and Victor said, "Cheers to new beginnings," as we took a sip together, maintaining eye contact throughout.

I was delighted to learn about his taste preferences, and we engaged in a lively discussion about wine and its different flavors. I felt relaxed and at ease in his company.

He opened up about his work, sharing his aspirations to become the CEO of his company and his deep love for his job. He spoke with excitement and ambition, reminiscent of my sister whenever she shared her workday experiences with me.

I couldn't help but draw comparisons between Victor and Bella. Both were hardworking individuals striving for success in their respective roles. Bella, as the CEO of her own company, faced the challenges of leading a team and managing numerous employees. I held immense respect and love for her in my heart.

In that moment, I saw Victor in a similar light. When he spoke about his dreams and aspirations, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of admiration and affection for him. "When did he sneak up on me and earn my love and respect?" I pondered, realizing how deeply he had touched my heart.

Lost in my thoughts, I couldn't recall the exact words that escaped his lips, but he spoke about the significance of Aunt Jen in his life. Like a mother figure, she had raised and loved him, guiding him through difficult times.

"I should work hard to impress her," I thought, determined to show Aunt Jen my best self.

For a moment, my gaze wandered from his eyes to the wine glass, and I found myself reminiscing about the near kiss we had shared at La Bakery just an hour ago. My eyes traced his face, fixating on his lips. The electrifying feeling coursing through my veins was indescribable, and the desire to kiss him in that moment was both unknown and thrilling.

I believe he sensed my longing, as the way he looked at me suddenly transformed into a seductive glare that was almost too intense to handle. I averted my gaze, unable to meet his eyes.

"Check, please," he waved at the waiter, signaling our desire to settle the bill.

I don't know how, but he was astutely attuned to my feelings. I yearned to leave the restaurant with him and find a more intimate setting for our private moments together.
