Chapter 84: End War (Part 1)

The Chinese armored vehicles and Tanks were now heading toward us with a very mass number, Sulivan commanded the marines to pull out their rocket launchers. Even commanded our APCs and Tanks to come out to stop the next attack wave from China, the battle was not over yet.

(Sir Rigen, what should we do?) - Reimi asked me in panic when she was the one who only has guns but no anti-tank weapons

(Stay right behind me!)

(Understood!) - Reimi immediately stayed behind my back

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" - The Chinese Tanks fired cannon shots into the broken cars and killed the marines that were on the road forward in front of us, we must fall back to survive or we will join them

"Fire, marines!" - The marines that were staying with us behind the broken car and the others from around have pulled out M72s, some from behind even brought Javelins or Stingers, they shouted to open fire

"Wait! Wait until they get close! Do not s-" - Sulivan shouted to warn the marines but seemed like those guys were so panicked that they didn't hear him

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" - Many rocket launchers have been shot, massive rockets flew toward Chinese armored vehicles and Tanks

I saw that some of the Chinese Tanks and APCs have been destroyed on the road but they were still many of the vehicles kept running, some didn't heavily damage and some were now on fire but kept fighting.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" - A few more cannon shots from the Chinese damaged Tanks, luckily that those shots didn't shoot at us but shot the behind marines, we were so lucky to be alive

"Fall back a few steps! The Abrams go go go!" - Sulivan commanded something I could not hear because the cannon shots earlier were quite deaf but I saw many Abrams Tanks have now charging toward to fight Chinese Tanks and APCs 

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" - Some of our Abrams Tanks have been shot by Chinese armored vehicles but still fighting, the damage was not so bad so we kept firing our cannons back

I saw that we have destroyed all of the Chinese vehicles, the gunshots have stopped firing, I was wondering if the Chinese troops want to make another banzai charge or not or if we have to go up forward the bridge to take our momentum.

"Abrams Tanks and APCs will head up first! Marines will go from behind, charge! Go! Go! Go!" - Sulivan commanded us to go, the Abrams Tanks and the other APCs have now rolled their wheels forward the bridge

"Let's move out, man!" - Pambo said to me and then reloaded his M249

"Dammit, I will shoot them all if they keep the banzai charge at us, how far did we go, John?" - Cawess asked me when I was pointing my M4 forward

"Don't know, ask Sulivan! We just have to fall back a few steps, we don't even make our steps on the half of the bridge, the battle will be long."

"Why did the sounds so silent? No gunshots or shit, did the Chinese use some trick on us, John?"

"Don't know, ask Sulivan! Maybe those Chinese have fallen back, they burned many of their troops in two waves of attack so they may now lose forces. Look around you, hundreds of corpses around the bridge."

(Sir Rigen, do we have to step on those corpses?) - Reimi asked me when she was covering her nose, maybe she was disgusted at the corpses of the Chinese troops

(We have to, Reimi! We have to, the corpses are many but endure it, we still have a very long road forward)

(Yes, Sir Rigen!) - Reimi reloaded the AK 12 and then waited for me, she will walk when I go

I saw that the sounds of our Abrams Tanks and the other APCs like M113s, Strykers and some LAV 25s, even some of our Humvees were now rolling the road forward, they were now leading to avoid casualties from the infantry soldiers.

"Move slowly, guys." - Some marines have now slowly stepped forward behind the armored vehicles, the marines were now trying to split themselves a bit far to avoid being shot one by one by Chinese soldiers while stepping up

But the space for the marines to split themselves was not enough so they have to go very close together, which mean if a grenade from the other side throwing at them, most of the troops standing together will die or be wounded very heavily.

"Where the fuck are you going, Cawess?" - I asked Cawess when he was now running back to Sulivan, Sulivan was now pointing his hand at the map as if to command tactics for us if we encounter Chinese troops forward

"I will go up first, homie! Remember to fall back if something bad happens." - Pambo said to me and then joined the Marines that were stepping forward the bridge

(I'm ready, Sir Rigen! Now let me hear your order, tell me what to do next!) - Reimi asked me when she has finally checked the AK 12's rounds on its chamber

(I go, you go, alright?)

(Yes, Sir Rigen!) - Reimi said to me and then pointed the AK 12 out of the broken car to see if there was anything next to do

(Your soldiers are heading very slow, Sir Rigen) - Reimi said to me so I also looked forward to the bridge to see what she was talking about

I saw that the Abrams and the other APCs were now heading forward the bridge at a very slow speed, the marines were also slower. They slowly changed their broken cars by sneaking through one to one while heading forward.

Looked like the Chinese side hasn't made any move to attack us, they may now prepare something very big, they may now prepare their defensive line to defend themselves away from our assault.

(We are heading slow to make sure that we can react against the enemy attack, Reimi! Heading forward without seeing is very dangerous)

(I understood, Sir Rigen! Can we go now?) - Reimi suddenly freely sat on the ground

"Have you two done talking?" - A voice called me and then I saw Reimi stand up as if she wanted me to go

I turned behind and saw that Cawess and Sulivan were now standing beside me, both of them sighed and looked forward the bridge. The marines were now covering themselves behind the destroyed vehicles of Chinese and ours but I didn't see China has any action.

"The marines are now waiting for us, you two should move forward, maybe the enemy will make a mass defense so we must push forward more to victory, John." - Sulivan told me and then talked to the marine that was holding the area map of the Golden Gate Bridge

"Can you two stop flirting? My eyes are now having many thorns to see you guys doing like that when Valenta isn't here." - Cawess said to me and then walked forward, looking like he didn't care about me anymore

"What would you do with the Alrotz soldiers, Sir?" - I asked Sulivan while pointing my hand toward the marines that wore Alrotz armors, the Alrotz armor's battery can only use a maximum of 3 hours, those armors must have had less than 2 hours to use

"It's now 3:54 PM, if I don't see we need to use those then I will turn off."

"You two should go now, remember to keep your feet away from the Chinese corpses on the bridge as much as possible." 

"Yes, Sir!"

(Let's go, Reimi!)

(Yes, Sir Rigen) - Reimi immediately followed me forward the bridge

Oh dammit! While moving forward on the bridge with Reimi, I have to avoid stepping on Chinese troops' corpses, the corpses were around the bridge. Very much blood flew everywhere from the corpses, even flying down the bridge.

I noticed that some of the blood has been dried for a bit but I was still very terrified, many corpses that lost their limbs, hands and legs could be found around the corpses with blood still on them. The legs and the hands of the Chinese soldiers had been torn out by the cannon shots from the Tanks and the machine guns that were shot by the Alrotz soldiers.

(Ah, I never saw this terrible scene before in my homeland, Sir Rigen! My homeland rarely has wars but it has got in a coup 20 years ago but I never saw the corpses that lost limbs like this)

(Sir Rigen, your homeland has many destruction weapons, even more powerful than ours though your homeland doesn't have magic, that was what impressed me)

(Ah!) - Reimi suddenly fell on a Chinese soldier's corpse while walking with me

(Are you okay, Reimi?) - I pointed my hand to Reimi and she grabbed my hand to get up

(Sorry, Sir Rigen! My legs have been fatigued...can you...hold my hand to lead me?) - Reimi's shyness was so cute

(Of course!)

(Thank you...Sir Rigen) - I slowly walked through the Chinese corpses while holding Reimi's hand, I stepped forward slowly to make sure she would not fall

I noticed that Reimi's uniform has some blood when she fell earlier but maybe I must care about it later, Reimi was now looking around to see the battle. I noticed that our marines didn't come up forward anymore but stayed behind the destroyed vehicles as if to wait for something.

"What are you doing? Why don't we push forward?" - I asked the marines that stayed behind the destroyed vehicles

"Don't know, man! Our scout boys didn't see any enemy, our vehicles also stopped forward, we didn't see any enemy."

"It's so silent, isn't it? I was scared that those Chinese will make another banzai charge at us, their tanks have already terrified me. I don't think the Tanks that are made in China would be that good against our launchers." - A marine talked to me 

"Yawn! Can you guys stop talking!" - Cawess came out from nowhere and then stepped toward a destroyed vehicle and pointed his M4 toward the road

"Form our lines, homies! We may have to encounter another banzai charge!" - Pambo also from nowhere came out and stayed with Cawess

"Hey, can you the three of you homies move to another vehicle?" - Pambo asked the marines that were staying behind that destroyed vehicle to move to another

"Okay, dude!" - The marines started moving another way

"Shit, that the hell is Sulivan doing? He should have ordered our vehicles forward to make some cannon shots, the Chinese may now waiting for us, man!" - Pambo complained about the instructions of Sulivan

(Why did we stop, Sir Rigen? Cough! Cough! I have coughed again) - Reimi asked me when she was checking the ammo, maybe I should tell her to use her rifle only, I was scared that she would throw the grenade's pin

(Mount the bayonet for in case, Reimi! The enemy may use the same attack as earlier)

(Yes, Sir Rigen!) - Reimi slowly pulled out the bayonet and mounted it on the barrel of AK 12, this time she did it more swiftly than before

"John, you still have water?" - Cawess suddenly asked me

"No! I mean I will store those for Reimi."

"Fuck you! How can you let our brotherhood get divided by only a woman, you are too fucking simp!"

"John, I should have ignored your life and headed to the store to fuck Valenta that night and then move to the hotel to fuck her mom!"

"Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you! John Rigen, I will never forgive you!" - Uh...don't know what to say

"Calm down, homie! Everything has passed so forgive John, you can fuck Valenta and her mom after the battle." - Pambo tapped Cawess's back

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" - Many cannon shots have been shot from our Abrams Tanks and APCs, the shots were very loud for seconds but didn't see the Chinese soldiers' response

"Fire again! Shoot!" - Sulivan ordered the Tanks and APCs to shoot again

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" - Many cannon shots have been fired again, a minute has passed but we didn't hear or see any sounds from Chinese troops

"Shoot again! Shoot!" 

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

"Again!"

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

"Again!"

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" - 5 waves of cannon shots have been fired but we never saw the Chinese troops, what were they doing?

"Stop, marines!" - Cawess has finally stopped ordering the marines to shoot forward the road

A very silent moment continued, didn't hear any response from Chinese troops, Sulivan was now stepping a bit forward toward me. He was now looking at the road forward, maybe we should move our military vehicles on the road to keep forward.

"Immediately rush our Tanks and APCs forward the bridge! Do not le-" 

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!" - Many loud shots have been fired

When I looked back, all of our Tanks and APCs have been destroyed forward the road, suddenly the road forwards us has been covered by dense white smoke. The Chinese troops have finally taken action, they were about to make a very mass assault on our US Marines.

"Fix bayonets! All Alrotz Marines immediately lead the way, the enemy may open a big banzai charge at us! Immediately form our defensive line!" - Cawess shouted loud to order us

The marines now still had a bit of panic when they pulled out the M9 bayonets to mount on their rifles, we were all scared to be stabbed to death, it would be less painful to die by being shot. 

I have already mounted the bayonet on my M4 and pointed my carbine forward the road, Reimi was now heading the AK 12 forward the road as if she was willing to shoot all the Chinese troops that were about to charge at us.

"Come here, ching chongs! I will fucking tear you apart!" - Cawess challenged the Chinese troops to come toward him while pointing his M4 whose bayonet has been mounted forward

"This American MG42 will tear all of you Chinese dudes, come here homies!" - Pambo was now heading his M249 forward the road, he was quite calm and funny though his life was in danger 

All 16 marines that wore Alrotz armors have now led the way, they were now standing in a long horizontal line to shoot any Chinese soldiers that were about to charge at us with their machine guns.

"Wei renmin fuwu! Wei dang fuwu! Zhandou dao si! Zhandou dao zuihou yi kouqi!"

(Serve the people! Serve the Party! Fight to the death! Fight to our last breaths!) - Many roars came from the other side of the bridge

Chinese troops have finally made a mass banzai charge on us! Our Marines were now ready to fight them, we would not fall back anymore! We will stand here and charge forward the bridge to victory!

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" - Many loud shots have been fired from the other side on the smoke screen

I looked back and saw all of our 16 Alrotz Marines have been shot down, they were all dead or trapped inside the armors, dammit!

"Sir! The enemy is making a banzai charge! Thousands of them, Sir!" - A scout boy shouted loud to Sulivan in a very panicked voice after scouting with his binoculars

"Stand our ground! Do not fall back! Shoot when they get close!" - Sulivan shouted loud to make us calm down

"Yarrrh! Yarrh! Rargggh!" - Many roars from the Chinese troops, they were now charging at us with bayonets mounted on their rifles with many dense horizontal lines, they came out from the smoke screen

"Shoot!" - Sulivan shouted loud!

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!" - Many marines and we shot many rounds on the human wave of Chinese troops

The Chinese soldiers' corpses fell on the ground everywhere when they charged at us bit being shot, some of our marines were now stepping back in scare, the Chinese soldiers kept charging through the piles of corpses to kill us.

"Do not fall back! The enemy is charging their troops toward us uselessly!" - Sulivan shouted loud to calm us down

"Boom!" - Suddenly a loud shot hit the area behind Sulivan making many marines die, on the line of the smoke screen on the other side, many vehicles roaming toward us 

Those were...Chinese Tanks and APCs! They wanted to wipe out our 10.000 troops by this banzai attack! The Chinese Tanks and armored vehicles were now charging toward us alongside their troops!

"Do we have any vehicles!" - Sulivan shouted loud to a marine behind him!

"Only an Abrams Tank, Sir! We have lost most of our vehicles in the previous attack!"

"Fall back! Fall back!" - Sulivan ordered us to fall back while shooting the human wave of China by his M4

"Fuck!" - Cawess shouted loud while falling back and shooting at the Chinese troops

"This is more terrible than the Banzai attack in Saipan!" - Pambo shot the Chinese human wave with his M249 while falling back

(Sir Rigen!) - Reimi pulled me to step back with her skinny hands, she rushed all of her strength to pull me to safety

(Ah!) - After a few seconds of stepping back, we and many marines suddenly fell on the corpses of the Chinese soldiers that died earlier 

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Do not get close!" - Cawess shouted loud while shooting at the Chinese troops that were heading toward us and reloaded his M4 in panic, he was also fell on the corpses

"Shit!" - Pambo has finally run out of ammo for his M249, he was now reloading his machine gun while pulling out his M9 Beretta to shoot at the human wave, he was also like us

(Take this, you enemy!) - Reimi threw all of her grenades, she even took my grenades to throw at the human wave and then shot at the Chinese troops with her AK 12, she was also panicked like me

"Rocket launchers ready!" - The marines behind us shouted loud to signal that the anti-tank weapons have now ready to shoot

Some Chinese troops were now about to head toward us, we were very close to them! Three Chinese soldiers were heading toward me with their bayonets mounted on their rifles!

(Sir Rigen!) - Reimi used magic or something, a strong wind appeared and blow the Chinese soldiers were heading toward me away

"Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!" - Sulivan ordered the rocket launchers to shoot at the Chinese human wave and their military vehicles

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

...

We were so lucky to survive that wave of attack from the Chinese troops, both sides have finally taken heavy casualties. We didn't see any wave attack from the Chinese Tanks or armored vehicles anymore, they may now have been all destroyed by our marines.

In the previous attack, the Chinese troops' corpses up thousands, thousands of humans died in a single wave of attack. Our rifles lack ammo so most of us have to pick up the QBZ 95 and QBZ 191 rifles from the dead Chinese soldiers as the backup weapons to fight against them.

We only have an M1 Abrams Tank as our only armored vehicle, the Abrams Tank was now leading the road, it didn't meet any resistance from Chinese troops. 

Looked like the Chinese troops have also run out of anti-tank weapons so that was why our Abrams Tank could pass the road easily, we have taken half of the Golden Gate Bridge, I think.

But Sulivan told us to watch our steps because we were now moving forward the bridge but didn't encounter any Chinese soldiers. They may now wait for us to come to make another banzai charge or lure us into an ambush.

(Sir Rigen, is that alright? You are going before me, please go behind me instead!) - Reimi said that to me because I was going near the Abrams Tank, maybe I should obey her to make her please

Then I walked behind Reimi, I looked around and saw our marines were now exhausted after taking heavy casualties and having a long battle. The Third World War was about to end when we take over the bridge, must charge forward to victory to the end.

"Fuck! Didn't see any ching chongs!" - Cawess was going alongside us but he kept grunting when he didn't see any Chinese troops

"I don't see any Chinese, maybe they have gone somewhere, homies." - Pambo said to us, he was the only infantry that was leading the way

"Wait, Marines! Look forward, that may be the sign of ambush!" - Sulivan shouted to us when he was going behind, he pointed his hand forward the bridge

I looked at the road forward the bridge, which was an area forward away from us about a hundred yards has a long line that looked to be damaged very heavily. 

If a vehicle goes to that position, the Golden Gate Bridge will be split out in half or collapse, we must watch our steps for now, maybe the enemy was waiting for us there. 

(Sir Rigen, I saw a blast of white light from forward appear in a second and then gone, what is it?) - Reimi suddenly asked me

(Oh, that was a reflection of light from the enemy's sniper scope, that kind of enemy will attack from far away like an assassin) - Wait! What did Reimi just say to me? A sniper?

(But that light was heading toward you...Sir Rigen! Watch out!) - Reimi suddenly shook me down to the ground

"Bang!" - A gunshot has been fired, Reimi has been shot and fell to the ground

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" - Many gunshots have been fired on the other side of the road

"Reimi! Reimi! Wake up!" - I crawled toward Reim and called her, her blood was now sticking in my hands

"Reimi! Wake up!" - Reimi didn't say any word but closed both of her eyes, her chest kept spurting out blood

"Reimi! You are kidding right! Wake up!" - Reimi didn't say anything, no! No! No! She can't die! I touched her nose, even pressed my ear to her chest, she didn't breathe anymore, her heartbeat also stopped

"Reimi!" - I hugged Reimi very tight, she has died, I held her in tears! Dammit! Godammit!

"Cawess! Ah!" - Pambo who was worried about Cawess, who was also got shot, he ran back to Cawess but he has been shot many times by the machine guns forward the bridge by Chinese troops

"Cawess!" - Sulivan has now pulled Cawess to a nearby broken car with the other marines, he also pulled Pambo with Cawess, Cawess has been shot in his right shoulder and he was later being bandaged, he could still fight

I looked at Pambo, he didn't move after getting shot, he may now die, our last vehicle, the Abrams Tank has been shot to burned. 

The marines that tried to get out of the Abrams have been shot to death by Chinese troops' machine guns, the Chinese have set up the ambush on us, the line before us has been surrounded by Chinese machine guns. 

The machine guns were shooting at us non-stop, Sulivan was now gathering our marines were staying behind the broken cars to shoot forward to stop the Chinese machine gunners.

"Reimi, I won't forget you!" - I ran toward Cawess and Sulivan's positions while holding Reimi in my hands, she died without saying last words! I have finally in the position but still hugging Reimi, I was crying for her death!

"Sulivan! The only way to stop the Chinese now is to break the bridge in half! We need someone to move the Abrams forward!" - Cawess shouted to Sulivan

"Any one of you have other ideas! If not then we need someone to rush the Tank forward to break the bridge!" - Sulivan shouted to ask the volunteer to be the suicide Tankman

"Wait! Who is driving the Abrams! Where is Pambo! He just has laid there earlier!" - Cawess pointed his hand to the burned Abrams which was running forward the bridge but also shocked when he didn't see Pambo anywhere, that meant Pambo was still alive

"Immediately contact the Abrams by radio!" - Sulivan snatched the radio from a radio soldier

"Pambo! I don't let you disobey my order! Immediately return the Tank now! We will find another to drive the Tank!" - Sulivan shouted loud to Pambo but there was no response from the other side of the line

"Pambo! Return the Tank!"

"Pambo!"

"Guys...tell Stephanie and Carl...that I...love them." - Pambo has finally spoken with a low and weak voice as if he was wounded heavily and was about to die

"Haah...hey...remember to give me...The Medal of Honor...when I'm gone." 

"This is not the time for jokes, dammit! You are about to die so return here now! Pambo!" - I shouted to Pambo

"Goodbye..." - When Pambo has done his talk, the Abrams Tank suddenly ran faster to the damaged area

"Boom!" - Pambo has died a heroic death, the Abrams Tank has finally been shot down by the Chinese troops but it also split the bridge in half

The impact made us slip a bit on the ground, the bridge has been curved by being split out by the Tank, the Golden Gate Bridge has been split in half but didn't collapse.

I slowly crouched behind the broken car with Cawess and Sulivan while holding Reimi in my hands, I accidentally looked at the watch.

This time is 5:17 PM, the Third World War is about to be over but in a very deadly way.
