Journey Start

 

After waking up to the Alarm I quickly get up. Everything I have is already in my Bracelets so I turn and Stealth and leave the room. As I am activating and going over all my Skills, I sense two people across the road focusing their intentions at the Inn, thinking they’re Criminals of some kind I go over to them and Analyze them.

I'm pretty sure they are here to try and keep an eye on me so I wait until they talk so I can get some information.

 

“Hey. What's the point in us being here if she has Stealth abilities that can fool even the Captain?”

 

“Like I know, idiot. We just report to the Captain if she makes any moves.”

 

“I don't know man. She's one scary girl. I don't wanna be caught spying on her.”

 

“What? She didn't look that scary when I saw her at the base the other day.”

 

“You weren't at the main raid man, you don't know.”

 

“How can she be that scary? Didn't she get messed up at the raid?”

 

“She went in before us dude. When we started the raid we dealt with all the small fries but when we went further in we found her alone in a hallway with like 30 bodies all through the hallway. When we found her she didn't even realize we were friendly until the Captain blocked her attack.”

 

“Damn. She took out 30 by herself?”

 

“Dude, I said we took out all the small fries. Who do you think she was fighting?”

 

“Holy shit, really?”

 

“Yeah. She was guarding the door to the noble’s room. It took the Captain and Talou a few seconds to deal with everyone in the room after she passed out so she must have stopped all the higher ups from helping the nobleman escape.”

 

“Then aren't we seriously way too low level to be watching her?”

 

“That's what I'm saying man, and with her abilities she could be standing right next to us and we wouldn't even know.”

 

Hehehe. I feel like being mean. I quickly write on some paper, climb up onto the roof of the building next to them and then drop it in front of them.

After what Josh said I'm seriously considering abandoning this mission. I don't want any of this Assassin business. There’s a reason we don't work with them. I start to get a little shaky before Josh speaks up.

 

“Chill dude. Although I'm saying all that she seems like a pretty cool person. I mean she was selected for our operation and she agreed to help. Not to mention she’s pretty hot for a beastkin. Don't those wings kinda… just… Hey, what's that?” I look where he is pointing and it seems a piece of paper has fallen from the roof right in front of us. I grab it and check it out.

 

“I could be right behind you. Tell your Captain to fuck off.”

 

Wahh.

After I watch the man fall unconscious I call out to the other one.

 

“Sorry about that. Just a little punishment.” He jumps but once he sees me he calms down.

 

“H-hello! W-we’re just keeping an eye on you.”

 

“I don't care. Although the message stays true. You can tell your Captain to fuck off. I'm leaving the town anyway so you can tell the Captain along with that message.”

 

“Where are you going?”

 

“Not sure yet.”

“I'm pretty sure the Captain told you not to leave town.”

 

“Like I care. We are not enemies yet but if he keeps up this treatment he’ll be sure to make it that way. See you around Mr. Apprentice!”

“And that's how it went down, Captain.”

 

“Has Chris woken up yet?”

 

“No sir, but I'm pretty sure he’s just sleeping. I kinda scared him a little so I think the note just took him over the edge and he just fainted.” The Apprentice tries to hold back a laugh while the Captain just sighs.

 

“Fine. Talou, do you think you can find her?”

 

“No, and even if I could I’m not going to.”

 

“What do you mean?” The Captain glares at Talou but he continues as if it's nothing.

 

“You have nothing on her. Is there a reason that you're so insistent on hunting her down?”

 

“Obviously. Her powers can’t be left unchecked. She's only going to get stronger from now on considering how young she is.”

 

“Don't you get what you're doing? You're treating her like she's Evil already. She has done nothing but help us and you wanna pin her with all these crimes that have been unsolved. Crimes that helped everyone in the city.” The Captain stops glaring but still doesn't respond. “You know she made a good point to me when she left yesterday. This is basically how you treat all the people above my paygrade isn't it? I know that you know I’m still hiding my true power from you guys. Is that how I'm going to be treated if I stay working with you guys?”

 

“Of course not.”

 

“Then why are you treating her this way? She actually seemed excited to be working with us at the start of the operation and now she doesn't even want to be close to you. How is that going to affect her interactions with the Kingdom in the future? How is that going to affect relations with anyone with Stealth in the future. Your intelligence unit is already a useless pile of nobles who do nothing but talk. Why are you trying to scare away any kind of talent that could be of help?”

 

Silence reigns the room for a while as the Captain makes a difficult face.

 

“In light of all this, Hank and I are going to take some time off and take a look at our own future. I hope you find an answer to all of those questions since it will affect the future of the Kingdom as a whole, Lets go Hank.”

I walk out of the South side of town and take one last look at the book that describes the surrounding kingdoms. From what I can see on the simple map in the book, the place furthest away from any towns is in between 3 different countries. It seems to be the least inhabited place on this continent. I kneel down, gather my Magic and jump as high as I can, using a few Magic worth I make my way into a nearby forest by the hills surrounding the town. I want to complete the 4th stages of the Goblin and Kobold Quests before I go. 

 

Once I sense a group of Kobolds, I land on top of one while throwing a knife and a Water Needle at another. I dash forwards using Dagger Combat to deal with the rest, using my wings for a boost of speed whenever I need too. Once I killed all 6 that were here I realized I didn't use any combos and just battled them normally. Hmmm. I think that just means I'm getting better but I don't know entirely since I’m not used to Dagger Combat yet. My lips raise up. Yes, this is better than all of the complicated stuff. Killing and gaining Points.

When I'm about halfway through my progress of the Quest and just finished slaughtering a small camp of Goblins a familiar burning sensation happens on my butt, back and head. Just when I have been forced to take a knee, it happens to my mouth as well and I pass out, but not really, my body drops to the ground like I passed out but I feel like I am still conscious. All I can see is an intense orange power circulating me, it seems intense but it is patient, impatient. Calm but ferocious. It seems like this intense power is going to completely engulf me but right when it does an even more intense bright light pierces through the orange but it doesn't push it away and eventually they settle and engulf me together. 

 

I wake up and take a quick look around. There doesn't seem to be anything nearby so I check my Status

Hmmm. For some reason my Beast Aspect skill Evolved. Analyzing doesn't give me anymore information other than my Physical Skills have gotten better. Physical Strength has gone up 1 Level, Flight is now Enhanced Flight and 1 Magic can now last me for 10 minutes of flight with higher speed. Extended Perception is the same as before but with longer range. Also it seems I have gotten an Extra Tail that gives me more Magic somehow. Haaaaaa… Right when I was enjoying the simplicity of grinding for Points, more complicated stuff happens. 

 

Alright. Time for what is my Special Move!!!
