Beast

“Not enough though.” Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit. What should I do? I don't think I can fly away fast enough. I'm pretty sure from his Status that he has Agility matching Captains. Thinking about it again he should have 35 Agility while I have 28 last I checked. It's not the biggest difference but I have a feeling trying to escape wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.

“Hahahaha. Are you an Adventure beast girl? Need more for your requests or what not?”

“Something like that.” I keep thinking over my options but nothing is coming to mind. Every time I consider attacking first my Intuition warns me not to. I put the Katana in its sheath to reactivate the Quick Draw ability.

“Well it seems you have strayed a little too far from your tribe this time beast girl.”

“We’ll have to see about that. Maybe you shouldn't have gotten off your ass today?” Still going over my options I keep talking nonsense to this goblin.

“Hahahaha!! You seem like a feisty one. The little ones will have a hell of a time with you! Maybe you’ll still be alive by the time you make it to me.” I'm not sure what he is on about but it's probably just the usual goblin babble anyway. “You two step back. I want to take this one out. Haven't had a good fight in a while.” The two hobgoblins step back to the encirclement and the champion takes out a sword from behind his back. It's probably twice my size but it gives me an idea.

“Alright then fatso. I bet your bitch-ass is gonna be weaker than the other small fry anyway. I mean look at you, I thought goblins were ugly but your busted face takes it to another level. I feel sorry for all the little ones here that have to pretend you're anything good just cause you're a little taller than them. Maybe once I beat your ass into the dirt they find a half decent champion to follow. Also…”

*BOOOM*

The ground exploded around me as I barely managed to dodge. With all the dirt flying around I managed to obscure my vision from everyone present but I freeze once the champion loses sight of me and Stealth activates.

WHAT THE HELL?! The entire encirclement plus a few tree’s into the forest is under the champions Perception range. What the hell is this? If I move a muscle for a second he’ll definitely spot me. Think. Think. I have 6 Points. I think no matter what Weapon Skill I put them into he’ll definitely outclass me. I have regained a little of my Magic during this time so I might be able to do something with Water Magic Level 8 but if I do that it leaves me with no backup options. As I'm thinking the champion is looking around.

“Ahhh. You’re one of those huh. I evolved thanks to your kind. I know you’re still here, so If you're still here… ALL I GOTTA DO IS DESTROY HERE!!!” He starts wildly slamming his sword into the ground at random places. Shit. I'm gonna run out of time. I open the Points List and scroll at max speed hoping to find something. Right as he cleared out half of the encirclement, panic starts to get the better of me then something clicks in my brain. Intense feelings come out and I fade away.

Yui reappears on the battlefield. This time her facial muscles have moved and she wears a cruel grin. The Goblin Champion does the same and dashes towards her, having finally found his prey, before he can get halfway there a whisper echoes out.

“Steam Wave Sword Draw.”

In an instant Yui draws her sword over her shoulder and strikes it straight to the ground. Following her sword line a high pressure and even higher temperature blast of water flies at the Goblin Champion, slicing him in half and continuing into the forest about 3 or 4 tree’s deep before losing its speed. Silence reigns the forest once again but when everyone turns to look at the beast girl who fired off such an attack there is no one to be seen. Suddenly everyone pictures a giant snake appearing at one end of the encirclement but it was only for a moment before they see the two Hobgoblins slam into each other as Yui holds a dagger in either of their sides, pressing them together before disappearing into the forest again.

…QUEST COMPLETE!...

Yui hears noise but seemingly ignores it. Silence now gone from the forest, the encirclement burst into panic and everybody starts running. A majority of them keep their wits about them and head back towards the village while the rest run in different directions. One unlucky goblin heading towards the village looks back to see a jaguar leap onto the back of an escaping goblin only to then see Yui tear out the goblins throat with her bare hand. He lets out a yelp which causes the goblin he’s running next to decide to turn to look. He sees a monkey drop out from the tree’s to lift a goblin by its feet and slam it into a tree next to them. He goes to yelp as well before the goblin sees Yui turn towards him. Too consumed by terror he has a heart attack and falls to the ground. 

Once a majority of the goblins heading back to the village have entered, they shut the gates and raise their weapons, ready for their last stand. They watch the forest as they hear the sounds of beasts and the death throes of their companions. They usually never have much familial spirit but now they feel bad for their companions. Everybody is tense. Even the goblins who stayed at the village don't even ask what's going on. They look as scared as the rest. A fear so primal it eclipses their monster instinct has gripped them hard.

Eventually silence falls on the forest for the third time today but this only frightens them more as they know something is coming. 

This time a Lion confidently walks out of the forest until it is in view of everyone, then it stops, looks at them one by one and then lets out a roar that travels half the forest. A few goblins drop at the sound but the rest envy them as they have to witness a beast girl jump from goblin to goblin tearing them apart one by one. Eventually there is not a single goblin in sight. 

“Well. That was fun wasn't it?”

Wow so that's something that all beastkin can do? I have to be careful dealing with them in the future. Suddenly the intense feelings die down and my wings shine a little. Huh wait. What? I thought I got to keep feeling? Hmmm back to having barely any feelings then.

I take a quick look around and sigh. This is gonna take ages to dismantle.

Since it wont come up in the story for a while. No, this isn't something all beastkin can do. The strongest warriors of the Beastkin experience something similar but they usually awaken the animal they have the physical features of. Not to mention afterwards their body, mana and soul are injured to the point they cannot move for a few weeks. Since Yui has the Points System it takes compensation from the power of Points instead. I think this will be the only time in the story where I use Point Debt as it feels like a major story writing copout lol.
