"Hey, Ryuuta."

"Hmm."

I called for the guy while munching on a sweet cream-filled bread inside the cafèteria.

The place was crowded as ever, and Ryuuta also was invited by many groups, but just like me, he likes to eat in silence, so as always, we went to the backmost section of the hall, which generally the Yankee group acquires.

"Class 2-A. Mika Nohara. She called for me so I could help get closer to you."

Yes, I did investigate the glasses introvert since I felt a little regret in rejecting her plea so outrightly.

I didn't know what made me so sympathetic, but I wanted to see that girl smile more as she did back in the yard. And if it was through Ryuuta's route, then so be it.

Hearing my regard, I saw Ryuuta's brows rising in perplexion, which I was sure what could be about.

"Are you getting serious for a girl? Tell me, are you interested?"

The grin felt disgusting NGL, but since I was asking for a favor for something I shouldn't interfere with, I sighed before responding.

"No, it's not like that. I just...felt something toward her. Anyway, don't just whine and go meet her."

Turning my face, I ignored the idiot as I contemplated on my strangely moving heart these days.

I had some ideas about why I was changing these days, but in all honesty, I was not too fond of it.

The last time I felt this change, I ended up massacring the underworld Prison in a single night just in order to suppress my overwhelming emotions.

'I might have to return 'there' to calm these raging episodes of mine.'

Finishing the bread with a big bite, I heard Ryuuta speaking again.

"Oh, yeah. Next week Kaori-nee is coming back for the holidays. She has been bugging me about you for ages, so you better go and meet her."

Hearing the name, some memories of childhood came flashing down the lane.

The person Ryuuta regards as Kaori-nee was his older sister, who used to play with us when we were kids.

Since she's three years older, her role majorly was to look after us, and also she protected Ryuuta and me at every instance, even if it wasn't necessary.

Just like my friend, I also adore Kaorin but not as an older sister but only as a true friend who stayed with us until she was invited to a university.

Well, in actuality, she was called for her training to join an association that deals with super villains and some other related hectic stuff.

During our childhood, her strength was on par with a male adult, but I was uncertain.

I don't have a single clue, what her current power level was, but the time I spent in the underworld clarified what authority the name Kaori Fujiwara holds.

If anyone was to become the ultimate ruler of humanity, then I had my doubts that this older friend of mine could be a prominent contender.

"Well, I hope she doesn't have forgotten about me after meeting new people in her uni."

I said as we got up to leave the cafè before I heard very low murmurs coming from Ryuuta, who had a defeated expression spread across his face.

"*Sigh* Only if you knew."

[Ryuuta's POV:]

"Don't be late or forget about that exclusive starter pack."

"Please don't say such an unpleasant thing. I will ensure to be with my phone soon after entering the house."

As Kei nodded, we parted ways at the school entrance.

It was unfortunate that the day I had free time, Kei was busy because of some reason.

I was sure he would buy supplies to stock himself for the rest of the weekend since he doesn't like to shop frequently.

Even after living alone since the last year of middle school, he still hasn't learned to cook properly. And on the name of his signature dish, he just knows how to fry everything and eat it with a heck amount of rice.

Sighing, I checked on the girls and found they had been discharged this afternoon and had sent me around three dozen texts.

While I replied to each of them, I strolled on the street while keeping an awareness of my surroundings.

After the fight with Dreakward, my partner got hospitalized since they practically lost each of their limbs during the mission.

Thanks to Jii-chan's contacts, they were given priority, and now they were fit and fine, well not completely.

"Hmm? Where am I?"

Amidst chatting, I aimlessly walked in a lane I wasn't intended to roam.

But before I could have turned back toward the main street, I saw someone wearing the same uniform as me, walking in my direction with hesitant steps.

Well, her face was leaned down, so she wasn't actually coming at me; rather might be in deep contemplation?

Using my heightened senses, I looked at her face and got startled since she was the same girl Kei mentioned during lunch break.

Mika Nohara.

The reason I knew her was simple. She was one of the targets my team had asked to keep an eye on.

Seeing her saddened face, I recalled what Kei asked me to, so I decided to have a chat with her and run back to my house using my supernatural strength, or that bastard really might spend the reward all by himself.

But before I could have called for her, Mika-san turned toward a house before someone abruptly came from the indoors and dragged her inside while harshly pulling her ear.

My eyes went wide before I heard the house door closing with a thud.

Since the scene was far beyond ordinary for a grown-up man to act like this toward a girl, I perked my ears to listen to what was happening behind the closed door.

I got utterly shocked as I caught a glimpse of the situation before I found my feet already on the run.
