I was a bit embarrassed, having to fight with a girl, even if she was a monster while having being completely naked, but the situation wasn’t really favorable for changing underwear, so I just swallowed my pride and readied myself for another attack. Another attack that never came.

That surprised me, so I looked at the girl which was supposed to be fighting me, only to see her turning her back on me and clearly doing something I couldn’t see. I was a bit curious why she decided to trust me enough to let me out of her eyes, so I just stayed there and waited for a bit.

Soon she was finished, turned back to me and threw something in my way. I caught the mysterious object, only to see a pair of white briefs made out of spider silk. I had a hard time stopping myself from laughing at that innocent creature, but I still made sure to wear that gift from her. I have to say, I never had underwear that comfortable in my entire life.

Now let’s return to trying to kill each other. She started first, somehow firing a giant laser at me, which I had to counter with ice magic. Surprisingly, even though laser type magic was very powerful, it was still light so just making an ice mirror is normally enough to counter it. That’s if the laser isn’t powerful enough to melt the ice before it’s reflected, and that’s exactly what just happened.

I quickly moved to the side to avoid the attack, while throwing some fireballs at the spider trying to make her occupied. I was at a disadvantage in this fight, since she didn’t have to worry about environmental damage because she was a monster, but as a human, I would face retribution if I destroyed too much of land.

Well, at least that’s how it’s supposed to be, but I was never actually punished for my deeds by gods, even if my colleagues got smitten for way less destructive actions. Maybe I was favored? Still, that didn’t mean I could break rules on every step, since even I can only avoid the gods punishment for a short while.

Ahh, these trees are annoying, I have to get rid of them. I channeled a large part of my mana into a water spell, and in a couple of seconds, our surroundings were completely flooded, then I guided the water to surround the golems and in a flash, I froze them all. Whew, a large scale spells like that sure are exhausting.

Why is that girl fuming like that? Is she throwing a tantrum that I froze her tree golems? She sure is a child huh? If I remember correctly, she should have been born about seven months ago or something like that, no matter how one looks at it, she’s still a young one. Having to fight for your life at that age, with your mother about to be killed is just cruel.

What?

WHAT!?

The tree golems I just froze started moving again! What shocked me was the fact that they were still encased in thick layers of ice! That girl just took the control over the ice from me, and remade her wooden golems into the ice ones!? The shock made me lose my composure, so I almost got crushed when the rock hard fists came crashing at me.

Ahh, screw it, [Extinction magic] FULL THROTTLE!

There was a flash of light surrounding me, and as soon as it cleared, everything in the area of about fifty meters turned into ashes. I excluded the girl from the range of my magic, since she wasn’t my target, I just had to make sure she didn’t interfere with Arthur killing the queen.

Oh what the hell!

“Stop that!”

I couldn’t stop myself and shouted at her.

Now the ashes were rising from the ground, giving them shape of multiple grey silhouettes. Ash golems were certainly rare, but not even a bit less deadly than wooden or ice ones, as they had the ability to draw moisture from living things. But still, the annoying part was that they were almost impossible to kill. Ahh, she’s sticking her tongue out at me.

That girl is really annoying to fight, at this rate it won’t end unless I take all of my seals off. There’s almost no chance she will die from my full power if I don’t hit her directly, so it should be okay.

As soon as I took the rings off, and explosion occurred. I didn’t have anything to do with it, but something big flew by us and hit the tree. When I looked in the direction of the object, I saw the exhausted queen and Arthur holding a sword next to her head. Ironically, it was a sword made from the body of one of her children, I cringed with shame when I thought about it.

“NOOOO!!!”

The spider girl got agitated when she saw that. She let me out of her sight when she saw the queen was about to be killed, and without a shred of honor, used that moment to catch her off guard and grab her. If I don’t get punished in my next life for this expedition, I don’t think justice exists.

“GRANNY!!!”

Wait…

Without a shred of remorse, Arthur pierced the queen’s head with his sword causing a wave of weird energy to explode from the queen. The whole forest seemed to cry because of its queen’s death, birds were screeching, wolves were howling, and the wind made ominous sounds.

But that wasn’t what concerned me at the moment.

Granny… I quickly took the hood from the girl’s head while still holding her tightly in my arms. Unfortunately, my fears confirmed, and instead of usual bald head with eight eyes that were associated with humanoid spiders, I saw a pair of fluffy cat ears on a child’s head.

This must be this druid girl Eric talked about, the one he left inside a dungeon with a white spider as her guardian. Suddenly, this feeling of inevitable doom took over my body, if the girl wasn’t the queen’s child, then where was the real one? If the druid was that strong, then how monstrous is the being she’s bonded with!?

Suddenly there was a loud thump behind my back, just like something heavy falling from a big height. There was an extremely heavy aura accompanying the thing that just fell, even with all the strength I had, just turning my head took all of my energy. Fear froze all of my bones, and the thing I saw almost made me scream.

A spider, but with a woman growing out of its head. That in itself wasn’t really a scary sight, but her expression and the air around her were enough to kill, even more so to terrify anyone that looked at her. She walked slowly, she passed me without batting an eye, but somehow I was still convinced she made sure the girl in my hands is okay before continuing her stride.

She walked up to her mother’s corpse, her expression still frozen in that terrifying state, every one of my students passed out of sheer fear, with only Arthur hanging on the lasts strands of his consciousness. She hugged her body, and then..

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”

A wail, not that different from a banshee, heralding the death of all things alive.

But at that time, it was not fear that dominated my mind. As soon as I heard that wail, I just felt sorry for the little girl that lost her mother in a fight for greed. I really hoped that caped guy I met before had a good reason for saying the queen needs to die, or the regret from seeing this scene will haunt me for the rest of all of my lives.
