YAAAWWN!

Wow, I don’t remember the last time I slept that well, but why is it still so dark even though I opened my eyes? Am I inside something? It’s a bit tight but still very comfortable. It kind of resembles the moment I was born from inside the egg, I was stuck just like now and then simply came out by breaking the walls around me.

Which I just did again. This time however, it wasn’t shell surrounding me, but something resembling my webs. I couldn’t really help it, I didn’t know what I was breaking, so getting tangled up and then landing right on my face shouldn’t really be that surprising right? Oww, that really hurt!

But why did it hurt that much? I had some pain resistance, so a damage like that should be just negligible. I tried standing up, and immediately noticed something different. For some reason my point of view was much higher than normal, did I grow up massively when I was asleep?

I tried looking at my body, and got that weird feeling of my neck bending… Wait a moment, since when spiders have necks? I looked at my front limbs, and surely enough, there was something weird. I mean, I didn’t always have hands did I? But I still felt that I had eight legs, so I didn’t become human, just what happened to me?

“Oh my god what is that!?”

What is this god saying, why would she use words like that, and why is she rolling on the ground laughing like that.

“HAHA, what the hell is that, that’s hilarious!”

Hey, why are you laughing at how someone looks! That’s not nice!

“Ah, I’m sorry but… BUAHAAHAA… I’m not laughing at your looks but… Mph… If you’re not a demi-god, then I’ve never seen one HAHAHA!”

What is this crazy goddess talking about? What demi god!?

“It’s the first time I’ve seen a literal one! Your upper body is definitely godly, but for some reason, your lower one remained mortal, so now you’re literal HALF god haha!”

It’s not really that funny is it?

“It’s hilarious! Also, speak normally because I don’t want to keep reading your thoughts now that you got a mouth! And wear something, don’t parade around while being naked like that/”

Ahh, that’s true, I should be able to talk now. I hastily made a robe out of silk for myself, noting that I was now able to create thread from my fingers and began testing my now humanoid voice cords.

“Ahh, aaaah, AAAAH!”

How did that go? No, that wasn’t voice testing, I really tried to just say something, but for some reason all that got out was THAT. I guess trying to talk can wait for later huh, now I just want to know what happened.

“Oh yeah, you touched that weird stone before and suddenly a cocoon made out of spider thread appeared around you, that little girl Felicia was panicking for a quite long time, but since there were no signs of you being in danger she just gave up on getting you out. While you slept for a couple of month, she spent a quality time here sometimes going down to play with your mother… now that reminds me, she should be fighting for her life right now.”

“WHAT!!!”

Wow, that came out clearly out of my mouth. But never mind that, what did that crazy goddess just say? My mother is fighting for her life? I have to help her right now!

“Okay, okay, let me just open the passage, it will take a second.”

I don’t have that much time, I walked to the wall, and then just punched a hole through it. My new arms were surprisingly weak, but now I couldn’t care less, and even though my arm got reduced to mush, I just went through the exit I made and jumped down from the tree. I regenerated it while falling by the way.

Right away, I could see the horrifying sight happening on the ground, Felicia being caught by a random guy, and my mother pinned to the tree by the one I could only assume to be Arthur judging by the sword in his hand. I’m not falling fast enough, I won’t make it!

My blood froze at what I saw. Even though I didn’t know my mother for long, even though I’ve seen her just once, even though logically I shouldn’t have an attachment to her at this degree, I felt like something died in me at this moment. I landed on the ground feeling like my soul left my body.

I felt like a spectator, looking at my body moving like a machine. I used my last bit of sanity to check on Felicia, and after I confirmed she was completely safe, I lost it. My brain was empty, not a single thought going through it, I just walked in the direction of my dead mother. When I got close enough, when I touched her, I felt like my world ended.

I just screamed, I pushed all of the air out of my lungs.

I didn’t notice a light surrounding my mother’s body and part of it entering mine.

I wasn’t aware of my surroundings.

I only felt that my mouth suddenly started moving.

And the words that came out were…

Law of death
