"Wake up. It's time to go." said Ciri as she shook me awake.

"Shit, I overslept. Alright just give me a minute to wash up." I said as I sat up and thought about the past year.

It had been a year since the banquet and we managed to score some clients that day. Bandit extermination here, an escort job there, and one murder investigation led us to garner some fame thanks to the nobilities word of mouth. Even among the commoners, our name was somewhat well-known thanks to donating some of our funds to the needy in whatever city we were in.

That was among the normal people, but in the mercenary circle, we were making waves. The biggest reason for doing so is due to our structure. We were a six-man party doing jobs that mercenary parties 10-times our size couldn't or wouldn't do. Less expensive and better results meant people wanted to hire us rather than a mercenary party they couldn't be sure would do the job.

And when someone messes with livelihoods, they get angry. Every time we got to a big city, we ended up in a scuffle with a mercenary party. Now usually these mercenary parties are small-timers, those that make money by doing the jobs we take and they're no problem. But, about three months ago we took a bandit extermination job for a reasonably sized bandit group, upwards of 100 members.

Someone wanted to see how far we could go, and if we ended up dying that was good for them, but we didn't. We were easily able to wipe out the bandit group and we got ours. This led to a mercenary group with invested interests in the bandits, and our demise, looking for trouble.

We were on our way out of the city, about a half-hour into our departure, when Amelia told us we were getting surrounded. Not seeing a reason to panic, we waited until the leader showed himself, and show himself he did. After a long speech about how we're taking his money, we messed with the wrong people, we were out of line, yadda yadda, they tried to kill us. Unluckily for them, we won, and they all died.

Even luckier for us was that a merchant caravan was nearby and saw the whole thing. When they returned to the city, he spread the word about what he witnessed and our fame skyrocketed. A six-man party taking out 50 relatively well-trained mercenaries all by themselves, was a tale out of a storybook.

After that, we kept traveling taking jobs as we went, and here we are now, resting after a job well done. And seeing as we have time to kill, I mentioned to Ciri that I wanted her to take me to the world of Cyberpunk. I had asked the DGC how the time dilation if any, would work if we jumped to Cyberpunk and was told the time would flow similarly, one day there is one day here.

Getting up out of bed and getting ready as best as one could in a medieval world, I walked out of the tent.

"'Morning everyone." I said to the group who was eating breakfast around the campfire.

"Morning." x 4

"You sure you guys don't want to come with us?" I asked before sitting down to eat some fried eggs we got from the DGC, which we had started to occasionally do sometime this year after getting tired of eating the same food.

"Nah, I'm not interested. Besides you're not there to sightsee, you're going for technology and we'll slow you down." said Amelia.

"Agreed." said Guts.

"Just bring us some food. I want to taste future food." said Uzui.

"If you guys say so. Let me just eat real quick before we go Ciri." I told her before scarfing down my food.

"Okay, let's go." said Ciri before holding my shoulder and jumping.

~~

"Whoa. Give me a sec." I said as I put my hand against the wall to stop myself from falling down.

"Oh sorry. I forgot that jumping dimensions with my power is a little disorienting." she said.

"Phew, okay, I'm fine now. But holy shit." I said as I looked around to see a cyberpunk fantasy.

"You should've seen my face when I first saw this place. I was in shock for hours. This place compared to my world is just, completely different." she said.

"I wish I had been there to take a picture."

"Haha. So, how are you going to go about doing things?" she asked.

"I remember some stuff about the game from my first life, and if I remember correctly this place is ruled by corporations. That means I'm going to go to the headquarters of all the corporations and use my nanites to hack into their systems, downloading information on everything they have. But first, I want to take a look around and find some shady ripperdocs." I said, telling her my plan.

"Ripperdocs?" she asked.

"As you may or may not know, in this world almost everyone on the planet, or at least this city, has modified their bodies with various machines. Ripperdocs are doctors that specialize in the installation, upgrade, and repair of these machines, usually for a shadier type of clientele. With modified bodies, comes modified brains that store information, and if I can find a shady ripperdoc with a modified brain, I should be able to access their memories.

The chances of the corporations having the knowledge and know-how about installing machines are highly likely, but I don't want to take a chance of leaving such a glaring gap in knowledge. That's why I want to find a shady ripperdoc so I won't feel bad about looking through their memories. But if I have to, I'll look through the memories of a ripperdoc before leaving a big sum of money for their troubles." I explained to her.

"Sound like a solid plan. I'm guessing I won't be able to sneak in with you?" she asked.

"Probably not. The security systems they have are highly advanced, so I'll probably need to interact with one before I attempt to sneak in. I don't think their system is anywhere near advanced enough to bypass my nanites, but I'd rather be safe than sorry."

"Okay, where to first?" she asked.

"This city is rampant with crime and gangs so let's beat up some thugs, so I can interact with their cyberware. I think doing so will let me use my hacking and technopathy from afar rather than up close."

"So, what? We're supposed to just walk around and find some thugs." she said confused.

"Oh, no need, looks like some are coming our way." I said pointing to the entrance of the alley at three thugs.

"What do we have here? God damn, that is one sweet piece of ass!" said the thug who looked like a roided-out white guy.

"Animals, right?" I said, remembering what the muscle freak gang was called.

"That's right little boy, so why don't you leave now before things get ugly?"

"Damn, you idiots don't happen to have some cyberware in you do you?" I asked, remembering that the Animals focus on physical strength and don't like using cyberware.

"Of course not gonk. We're the Animals. We don't need that shit." he said before the three of them started flexing.

"Right. That means you're useless then, so we'll be on our way." I said as I turned around to walk away which the thug took as an opportunity to tackle me. Thankfully I knew he was going to try something so I dodged to the right before punching him right in the head, rendering him unconscious.

"Get him!" said the other two as I rushed to them faster than they could see me and hit them in the neck.

"Ah, what a waste of time. Now, we have to go find other thugs, ones with cyberware."

"My knight in shining armor." said Ciri with a grin, "You should still check them out just in case, they don't look like the most intelligent of guys. Maybe they didn't understand your question."

"You're right." I said before interacting with the body of one of them. Now, the Animals don't have much in terms of cyberware, but still what they had was insanely advanced. I'm talking at least a century ahead of my world. The information I got expanded my understanding of robotics and cyberware so much that I could revolutionize my world with what I had learned.

Thankfully the thug I interacted with did have some cyberware. He had arms cyberware to punch harder and cause more damage, some implants to enhance combat, and probably the most common cyberware, the neuralware. This is the holy grail of information that I received. Just this alone is worth the trip, and yet there is still so much more. Just the thought brought a smile to my face.

"Whoa that's a creepy smile." said Ciri.

"Hm, sorry. I'm just so excited about the rest of this trip." I said.

"So, what'd you get?" she asked, curious.

"A lot. But to quickly break it down, I got neuralware which is an integral part of cybernetics. It basically links the cyberware to your central nervous system, which controls everything thus it makes the cyberware feel like a natural part of your body. Not to mention, I was able to get nanotechnology from it as well."

"Nanotechnology? Isn't that what you have?" she asked.

"Similar, but mine is much more advanced. This nanotech compared to mine is geared in a different direction. Mine is more like building blocks that constantly learn, and these are more like tiny machines that only do what you tell them to. So, that means surgery thought impossible would be as easy as pie with these machines. The possibilities are nearly endless and just thinking about everything possible is exhilarating." I said.

"Cool." she said, "Are we done here?"

"Sigh, women will never understand a man's romance to be a cyborg." I said while shaking my head.

"Probably not."

"I just need to interact with the other two, and then I'm going to use my Perspective Minimum on them to see what the systems look like." I said before interacting with the other two thugs, yielding me nothing new.

Done interacting with them, I activated Perspective Minimum and took a look at them.

'Fascinating. Knowing the neuralware uses nanotechnology to link cyberware to the nervous system is one thing but seeing it with your own eyes is another. I knew I was going to get technology so much more advanced than my world, but to think it's at this level.'

"You okay?" said Ciri snapping me out of my trance.

"Yeah, sorry, I just got so entranced by what I was seeing. I'm good here, we can go find that ripperdoc I was talking about earlier. I think he's on Jig-Jig Street, we can pay for a cab to take us."

"With what money?" she asked.

"Right. Give me one sec." I said before I began to rummage through the Animal thug's pockets, finding some money.

"Okay, let's go."

~~

"Jig-Jig Street, god this place looks like a shit-hole." I said taking a look around the area.

"Agreed, let's get what we need and go." she said.

"Okay, that cabbie said it was that way and there was a sign at his door." I said before starting to walk. After a short walk, we arrived at the place if the sign was to be any indication. The door opening as we approached, we went up the stairs to Fingers' waiting room. Thankfully there was only one person waiting, so we didn't have to worry about more witnesses, not that it would matter.

"Is he in there?" I asked the lady waiting.

"Yeah he is, but I got here first." she said, angry.

"You should leave. Things might get ugly." said Ciri to the lady, who promptly left before we walked into his office.

"Hey! I'm working here! Can't you two wait your turn?!" he said as he was working on a girl.

"Finish up, we have things to talk about." I said.

"Fine, fine, I was just about done anyways." he said before doing one final thing before the girl he was working on left.

"What do you want? I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting before, I would remember two faces like yours." he said.

"No we haven't, but I need your help. Or at least, your memories. I've heard that you're a ripperdoc that sells broken parts to girls in need. I've also heard you're a scumbag and a shitty ripperdoc but you're cheap. So, I won't feel too bad about what's going to happen." I said using my newly enhanced nanites to hack into his cyberware and stop him from moving.

"Wait, wait, wait! I-I can h-help you! Whatever you need! Just p-please don't kill me!" he said crying.

"Sorry, Fingers. If you were a halfway decent person, I wouldn't have chosen you, but you aren't so I did." I said before going up to him and interacting with his cyberware. Fingers had a cyberware that the Animal thugs didn't, a rod prosthetic, so I got the info on that. And thankfully, I was able to read his memories. It was not pretty seeing all the things he had done over the years, but his knowledge of being a ripperdoc was very useful.

"Fuck, you're a shit person." I said slamming his head on the ground.

"P-p-please don't k-k-kill me!"

"I just saw everything you've ever done to your clients and that sealed your execution, but thanks for the help." I said before crushing his brain and heart with my tk before frying his cyberware with my nanites.

"Let's go." I said not even looking at the body.

"That bad, huh?" said Ciri as we left the building.

"Worse."

~~

After leaving Fingers' place, we went to eat at a diner before making our way to Arasaka HQ.

"This is it, Arasaka HQ. Night City headquarters of the biggest, most powerful corporation on the planet. Hopefully, everything I want is here, if not we'll have to make a trip to Tokyo." I said to Ciri.

"Is this the only place we're going to, I thought you wanted to go to the other corporations?" she asked.

"We are but most of the corps are here in the US, Arasaka is in Japan. I want to stay in the continental US if possible, but if I have to I'll go across the pond."

"Remind me which ones you want to visit again?"

"Arasaka is the biggest so that means they must have the most diverse information, Petrochem is the leading producer of energy and crops, Militech is mainly focused on combat usage, Zetatech for computers and software, Biotechnica for their bioware, Kiroshi for their optics and cyberware, and Trauma Team Internation for their medical specialties."

"We're going to be busy aren't we?" she said with a tired face.

"Yep." I said turning to her with a smile.

AN

I said I was going to do like 2 or so chapters per year, but it seems I've gone past that, so I decided I'm going to do 1 or 2 really long ones each for the remaining 3 years.
