this new discovery was a disaster! first it killed the demo crew, and then it started the biggest earthquake in history! the general was furious at what happened, so many people have died! but he was also fearful about what would happen to him, luckily for him, he wasn't fired from his position, and he was still the project manager. now the government was taking this situation seriously, sending in more research teams to find out what did this and see if it can be harnessed.
meanwhile, in the jungles of the ARK... ( i don’t own ARK: survival evolved. please don’t hurt me)
A pack of 15 raptors(Utah-raptor prime) were feeding off the corpse of their kill, a stegosaurus. They were all the same except one, it was the alpha, it was the biggest, had the flashiest feathers, and literally had a red aura visible to the naked eye, alphas are the most powerful beasts of the ARK, but not impossible to kill. I was in a gillie suit, lining up the shot with my hunting rifle, looking through the scope my cross-hairs landed on the alphas head, pulling the trigger a big BANG! Was heard throughout the jungle. And no it wasn’t that easy, the alpha screeched in pain and fell on the ground, the head-shot taking a chunk of his health away, angry, the alpha commanded the lesser raptors to kill the sniper, me. Cocking the bolt back i aimed and shot a raptor in the head, blood and brains flying everywhere from the critical damage, a rocket flew over my head killing four of carnivores, cocking the bolt back again I fired and landed a double head-shot, causing the first raptors head to explode while the other one crashed to the ground, blood flowing from his head to the now red grass. I then heard the raving up of a machine gun and the rest of the raptors all crashed down to earth, with countless holes spilling fresh blood. I looked over my shoulder to see Jack, well Jacks avatar at least, which was a very muscular man standing at 7 feet tall, with a bald head and biker glasses and wore iron armor, and a rocket launcher. I saw another one of my tribe members, his online name was Vespa, I didn’t know his real name, he was 6 feet tall with black skin, he had a fade haircut with some stubble, and wore riot gear and had a big machine gun in his hands. Looking back to the task at hand I saw an infuriated alpha raptor, it charged at us with pure malice, cocking the bolt again I shot at the alphas head, it dodged, Jack heaved the rocket launcher back onto his shoulder and fired, the rocket exploded right next to the raptor and knocked it away a dozen feet. Bloodied, battered, but still alive the raptor got off the ground and charged at us again, it was Vespas turn as he revved up the machine gun and let it rip, the bullets kept on smashing into the alpha until it dropped dead. cheering in victory, we ran to the alphas corpse and harvested it’s talons, meat, and teeth. Alpha meat is some of the best food in the game! With the talons and teeth needed to summon higher level bosses.
”well that was some nice shoot in’ there partner!” Said Jack in a thick cowboy accent, I was the best sniper in my tribe, the best in this server to be precise. “Yeah, it’s in my blood” I replied, I was born into a military family, my great grandfather served in WW1, my grandpa WW2 navy, and my dad was in the army, and my mom retired from the marines. I myself was thinking about joining the marines when I was old enough, but that changed when I became an Archmage. We were tracking down this alpha for hours, so we agreed that we would pick this up tomorrow, I agreed to get the materials back to base, while my friends were logging out I called for my tame, a giant eagle soared through the sky and landed in a clearing, my tame was an Argentavis, it had silver feathers and a curved yellow beak, and was equipped with a saddle so that I could fly it, hopping on, it launched to the sky and I headed back towards base on the volcano in the center of the island.
Logging off after I dropped the materials back at base, I pulled off my fully-immersive virtual reality headset(FIVR) and rolled to the side of my bed, I picked my phone up off the counter and saw that it was almost time to go to bed, huh I guess that time flies when you learn magic and hunt prehistoric animals, a rumbling stomach reminds me that I need to eat, picking myself up I got off my bed and through my door, I walked down the stairs to the kitchen, I decided to eat a meat bowl, full of beef, cheese, bacon, and potatoes. I pulled it out of the freezer and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes, I grabbed the TV remote and turned on the news, might as well learn about what’s going on outside my house. Pressing the on button I watched the news with silent horror, the worlds most powerful earthquake in history?! How did that happen, I then started to get suspicious about that old man but I brushed it to the side, the old man probably was trapped for most of those 20,000 years or else he would of found a new Archmage to pass his knowledge to, someone probably opened his tomb or something and started the earthquake. Thinking about that I almost didn’t notice the red eyes staring at me through the window, almost, when I saw them I froze, staring at the red eyes staring at me, a loud DING made me jump in surprise, my meat bowl was ready, quickly eating my food I realized something... if the old man was trapped for that long, and no one else found out about magic, then that means there has been little to no magic on earth for thousands of years, meaning that the earthquake must of restored magic, and if theirs one thing in common with most fantasy novels and video games, it’s monsters. When I was done with my meat bowl I quickly summoned my battle mage robes and got my book, I skimmed through the pages for a detection spell, I found the detect enemies spell a short moment after, quickly I drew an eye with a sword in the middle in the air, pushing my mana through I saw that it worked like radar, the people in the houses next to me were marked as blue dots and disappeared, the radius of the search kept growing until I found a red dot, then another, and another until there was a group of 20 red dots a mile into the forest, they're that close! I thought to myself. Calming down a bit, I needed to think strategically, I have no weapons just my magic, no reinforcements, and no armor. I cursed at myself for being unprepared for an obvious fight like this. I thought about my spiritual plane and wondered if I could go back and get myself at least some armor, and with that thought my room started to shift and bend like before, this time I was happy that I was going to go to my spiritual plane. When the room around me shattered I was standing in the white void again, and this time the voice returned and said something that I was happy with “ you want/need to fight/befriend the monsters/beasts, please think of the armor/clothing and weapon/tool/plaything that you want to bring to battle/play.” It was still talking in that multiple choice way, but I didn’t mind, I think it makes the voice more mysterious, but I didn’t waste any more time and closed my eyes, my armor was going to be my battle mage outfit with metal plates protecting my forearms and bottom front legs, And metal gloves and boots. For my weapon I was going to have a silenced tactical handgun with a holo-sight and laser sight, and I also imagined a holster on my right hip where my gun will fit snugly. Opening my eyes I was wearing exactly what I imagined, “equipment is equal to power/force, destroy/befriend your enemies/not friends." and with that i was back in my room, i stretched for a little while, making sure i was getting all my joints, i ran to the fridge and gulped down an energy drink. stepping into the back yard i breathed a deep breath and pulled my gun from my holster, glad that i was finally putting those sniping skills to good use.
i was almost to the hive, i could see the red eyes staring at me through the bushes, aiming my pistol at one of the pairs of red eyes i pulled the trigger, a light pew! Sound came from the gun and the bullet hit it's mark, a black bear looking monster fell from the bush, though I felt it was not as strong as a bear. The monsters now knowing that I knew about them caused them to erupt from the bushes, charging at me, I holstered my gun and fired the basic lighting spell, it traveled between three monsters stunning them, I then fired the basic fireball spell, traveling through the air and exploded, killing 2 monsters in a shower of black blood and guts, now they were starting to get close. Remembering my custom spell, I summoned a basic shield spell, condensing the mana into a ball of crystalline mana, I shattered it and formed it back into a dozen dagger like shards, making the spell took a while as the monsters were nearly on top of me, reacting quickly I fired the crystalline daggers at my foes, a dozen daggers, a dozen monsters. A dozen of the monsters crashed to the ground, one of them was going to crash into me but I swiftly dogged out of the way. There was only 3 left so I summoned the ice spell and brought a rain of ice down on them, the shards of ice penetrated their skin and froze their insides, by now I was starting to get a headache from using so much mana. Before they could recover i pulled out my gun I shot the 3 stunned monsters in the head, black blood oozing out of the bullet wounds.
The dark one was... disappointed with the show, he made the strongest monsters he could, but magic hasn’t had enough time to flow back into the ecosystem, he was hoping that his monsters would be able to ambush the new Archmage, but nay. He would have to wait for magic to get settled in this new world so he can create more powerful monsters to hunt the new Archmage... and the others...
But for now, he must wait, wait for this worlds nature to get used to magic, wait to get out of his prison, and wait for the early summer school reunion...
With my work done I was about to jog back to my house before this appeared.

well that happened, I didn’t think that I would get achievements in real life! Magic’s fucking cool! Once the achievements disappeared a green health bar appeared on the top right of my vision, not too big to block my vision but also not tucked away enough that it’s hard to see, that’s probably my health. I thought, I started walking back home until I felt a something about to happen, remembering my new ability I quickly rolled forward just before a bear claw swiped at where I was. Recovering I quickly pulled my gun from its holster and fired, finishing off the bear I had dodged earlier. Not wanting to stay here any longer I jogged back home, I opened the back door and shut it, remembering that I still had to lock the place down I started to lock the windows that I forgot to lock yesterday, walking up to the front door I locked it, feeling like a fool for forgetting to lock the house down yesterday, I ran up the stairs skipping one step at a time. I reached the second floor and entered my room, walking over to my bathroom I brushed my teeth, I couldn’t help but feel like this was going to be a problem later on, I’m going to have to really start making a habit of practicing magic to be able to destroy any monster that comes at me, as they will likely keep growing in strength. Spitting out the mix of saliva and tooth paste I made my way to my bed and fell on top of it, not even bothering to take a shower and change, and with that I entered happy la la land.
The kings had mixed emotions about this new predicament, some were happy that the 9 realms were about to be restored back to the 10 realms, others feared that the darkness had taken it over and are using it to invade the other realms, the rest were... neutral, they really didn’t know what to feel about this. But Gaylia sure did know what she felt, excitement! She always dreamed of having the chance to study the now rising realm. She even asked her friends Terra, princess of the beast kingdom, and Dorasik, prince of the dwarf kingdom, to come with her to explore the returning realm with her, naturally they said yes. Terra is a Khajiit, a race that is like a panther but walks on 2 legs and have hands similar enough to the other races to wield their weapons and tools just as well as them, they have claws like a cat and have a natural stealth affinity along with good night vision. She has beautiful black fur and blue eyes, and a feminine face. Dorasik is a dwarf, obviously, they are short but beefy, and like to grow their beards very long, and have a natural affinity for smithing and machinery making them the best crafters among the races. Dorasik had hazelnut eyes and a brown beard, he was 5 foot 2, which is gigantic for a dwarf. they all wanted to see this world with their own eyes, in the legends about the fallen realm, there was a race called humans, they are a very competitive race that have the ears of a dwarf, height of the elves, and live for around a hundred years. Their competitive nature caused them to have wars between themselves just because they thought that they were better, so the council had to arm themselves in case the humans attacked, while they did hope that after all this time they wouldn't be blinded by their nature, they still didn't take any chances. the bridge to the realm of earth was 25% repaired and didn't show any signs of stopping any time soon. But for now, all they could is watch as the bridge slowly, but surely repaired itself to it's former glory and reunite earth with the rest of the soon-to-be 10 realms....
