Thousands of thoughts were racing across Charlotte's head right now. The frost Elf Fay had just died. She immediately looked in Isbert's direction and saw him shake his head.

[Holy Light Gem] shattered.
1 more remains.

Charlotte hadn't interacted with Fay that much, but she was still like a friend to her. Someone who she could trust. And she just sacrificed herself to destroy one of the gems.

"CURSETH THEE!" Atyx screamed, the golden light fading away from his hammer in the form of uncountable numbers of small, light sparks, fading into nothingness. He slammed his arm down, the golden glow in his palm intensifying.

[Draconic Shell] 1This was mentioned in The Fragment of Light (2), where it was from Masamune's POV. She doesn't have sound, but Charlotte already cast this spell once so no cross-out words.

Thousands of glowing swords of light slammed into the ground, pelting against her upgraded shields. Each sword exploded whenever it touched the fleshy ground, sending shards of sharp light flying in all directions, puncturing thousands of holes into any living being that was unfortunate enough to be caught in it. Of course, that is if the explosion or the swords don't take them out first.

Minutes later, the rain of swords ended, and Charlotte was largely unphased. The surroundings around her were blackened and charred, with bits of the glassed desert below poking out. Entire swaths of flesh were completely disintegrated, and the smell of charcoal and burning sewage wafted through the air.

She held her breath and ran forward, seeing that Atyx was still recuperating from the blast, parts of his light armor completely vaporized, with heavy burns underneath them. But she wasn't running towards Atyx, no, she was checking up on Isbert to see if he was alright. Syvis was much too far away for her to get there in time. A small trickle of blood emerged from the sword, coalescing into a miniature avatar that curled around Charlotte's shoulder.

"Isbert!"

"It is fine. She has returned to Mother. She will be reborn again, maybe in another hundred years."

"HUNDRED?!"

"A freshly slain soul, especially one not connected to the Trinity, cannot undergo the process of rebirth immediately. It is lucky already that she had survived mostly intact in soul form." An Icy bolt materialized in his hand, as he loaded his crossbow mounted on his other. "Besides, we should finish the fight. Syvis and I will attract his attention, and break his final Light Gem."

"But-"

"No buts. It is our duty. We will be returned to Mother and be reborn. You-" He pointed a finger at Charlotte. "-Will not."

"Mother needs her Champion alive to free her. We are not enough and are restricted by Atyx and Zedar as well." He patted her on the back and draped a necklace over her neck. "Invisibility. Stay out of his range, and wait for the next explosion."

"Do not refuse. We are all counting on you. Just make sure to explain to Mother how all 3 of us died in one fight, alright?" He gave her a charming smile, as he crouched low and seemingly disappeared from view. Leaving Charlotte alone, a massive magic circle suddenly emerged from behind Atyx, and he immediately spun around.

"Do what he says. It is our easiest way of winning and using the least resources." Masamune said as she lounged on her shoulder. "They can revive. You can't. I need a wielder as well." Pushing her emotions down, she nodded and watched from afar. What Isbert said had a ring of truth to it, and since it was what he wanted, she could only respect his wishes. She clutched the necklace in her hand.

Massive magic circles constantly emerged from a speck from the ground, Syvis, as Atyx swung his glowing white hammer, shattering each one as soon as they appeared.

Syvis could not get a single one-off. But Charlotte believed that it was trickery, giving Atyx a sense of danger that he needed to squash first before focusing on the rest of them. Isbert was probably silently approaching him right now, and his plan was to simply climb onto his helmet, and smash into the Light gem, destroying himself in the process.

"CURSED CHILD OF VETRIS! DIE!" Even from this distance, his roar was still extremely loud, making her feel like she was right next to him. A squelching noise caught her attention, as she watched the same charred humanoids slowly crawling forward with their damaged bodies, toward Atyx. She made sure to get out of the way, and instead stay near a pile of completely charred corpses, more reassured considering the ones below her are all dead.

[Sub-Zero]

An enormous magic circle half a kilometer wide materialized above Atyx,  icy blue in color. Thousands more appeared nearby, as it slowly moved downwards toward the ground. Countless little dots of ice appeared midair, slowly drifting downwards like snow. Whenever Atyx moved, he would catch tens of thousands of them, each little dot seemingly weighing tons. Atyx seemed to have sensed danger, as he began swinging his great hammer with great difficulty.

Because of the ice though, all of his swings went wide, as Syvis simply moved out of the way, making him nothing but the fleshy ground.

After a while, larger dots formed, this time sharper and more deadly. Each one shot towards his head, aiming for the light gem within. Soon, his helmet looked like a porcupine, with thousands upon thousands of Ice shards poking out. The more time he wasted, the larger the Ice became, and the slower he moved.

Finally, Atyx decided enough was enough. Light coagulated at the tip of his great hammer, a pulse of golden light racing towards it from his head. He was feeding it with his own Light gem.

[HAMMER OF GOD]

He swung it, and the heavens parted. From above, the gigantic, flat, frontside of a hammer slammed down, unmeasurable amounts of crush force coming crashing towards the Earth. Atyx himself jumped backward with one massive leap, landing far outside the range of the Hammer.
Anywhere she tried to go would mean death if she couldn't run fast enough.

However, It was slow, which meant that there was still a possibility of Syvis escaping. Atyx lifted the hammer to his chest, golden light siphoning out of his forehead into the hammer in the form of long streams of liquid gold. Several seconds later, he raised it into the air, and pure white chains erupted from the ground all around Syvis.

She was trapped.

The inevitable happened as Atyx watched on, the hammer crashing into the ground, kicking up enough ash to dim the sky above.

LVL 635 [Syvis Vinterclaw] has died.

Charlotte began moving in, seeing that Syvis had already died, it meant that Isbert was about to complete his part of the mission as well. As no longer had she crossed a hundred meters in less than a minute did she see a speck standing out from Atyx's shining faceplate.

[Giantslayer Shard]

All Charlotte could process before the blinding explosion was a beautiful greatsword half the size of Atyx forming from the ice shards stuck to Atyx's faceplate, piercing his head in one fell thrust.

The world was once again plunged into a blinding world of bright white, and with that, the beginning of the end has just begun.

LVL 754 [Isbert Frostmoon] has died.

[Holy Light Gem] Shattered.
0 more remaining.

Atyx can now be damaged.

...

"Have you collected the Dragon?" Evatide cringed as an ancient voice boomed from high above. A hooded man wreathed in beautiful black robes outlined with depictions of death and despair in gold looked down at her from his massive throne. There was nothing under his hood, other than pure darkness, and the ever-constant feeling of dread.

"Yes, my lord." Evatide pulled out a Viridian soul from Hades, holding it in one hand. It was nearly her size in height, like a big, green ball of mist.

"I had not expected such a quick... execution, Eva." Another figure said leaning forward on their massive throne. Instead of a booming voice, theirs was much more androgynous, a lot softer, and flowed like water. The figure wore a matte grey robe with silver outlines and depictions of a great river coursing through his robes. Similarly, there was no face underneath the hood, nothing but a grey void that seemed to ripple, like a pond.

"It is to be expected. She wields a Soulcraft, after all. Creations of a Primal." The last voice was feminine, though still ancient. Her tone constantly switched between a child's, a woman's, and an old grandma's with every syllable, greatly disorienting Evatide. Her robes were snow white, with crimson red outlines of an unknown material, and depictions of life. Her face was a white void that seemed to suck in all light.

"Good that we have snagged her before the others." The black-robed figure turned back to Evatide after conversing with his comrades. A hand outstretched, Evatide noticed that it was entirely skeletal. The viridian soul left her without even commanding it, as it disappeared back into the gloom high above.

She never really once took in how large her bosses were. So tall that she had to strain her neck to even take a look at their armrests, but surprisingly, their faces underneath their hoods, nothing more than voids of their robe's colors, were still visible even down here.

"Strong memories, this one. Eresis, what do you think of her? Rebirth, Reward, or Rebirth? The black-robed god sat forward on his throne, at least, that's what Evatide judged.

"...Reward. I shall separate her memories from her soul and let her experience the joys she could not in life. A clean slate for Nyx."

"Achoo!" She involuntarily sneezed. The scent of White Poppies, Black Roses, and gray Carnations was too much for her. Especially in such a concentration as here. The conversation held by the Trinity immediately stopped.

"You know... you could've just left, right?" Hades sighed, as his big red eye opened.

Evatide sneezed again, and whispered, "Shut up! I wasn't given permission to!" She had only met the Trinity once before, and that was when she was summoned to be given a Job as their contractor. Or more specifically, Thanatos, the robed god in black's contractor. They had dismissed her before.

So she was waiting for their dismissal once again.

"Ah. Evatide, you must want your reward, no?" Thanatos said. A small pitch-black rose grew from the ground in front of her, blossoming to reveal a single orb at the core of the flower.

"You are dismissed once you receive it. Talk to Alexander Voidcrest for your next mission. Now, bother us no more."

"See! I told you it was worth the wait." Whispering, she stuck a tongue out at Hades and carefully touched the orb, not knowing what it was.

"Holy shit."

I just realized that you could insert glowing text into scribblehub holy shit this is like discovering fire for the first time. I will only, however, keep it to Legendary/myth/extremely rare items since I believe the formatting/gif doesn't work the same way on different platforms. Some people just won't be able to load the gif at all, so the less I use it, the better. More of an impact on more important items anyways.

The arc ending soon! The final ch of Atyx battle is tomorrow, and the final chapter of Charlotte's arc will likely be on the 14th, along with the very, very important announcement! (No it's not monetization)

Vetris is unresponsive in this fight because she's working on some God stuff. Kinda similar to how Masamune is completely oblivious to the outside world when in her little world of floating islands. So she just chilling (pun intended) around, until she's notices that Atyx's fragment is low on HP, which is when she then exits and processes him into Ichor. That'll also be when she finds her children dead.

Let me know what you think of the Trinity! Imagine being able to just give out a treasure like the XP orb. This will definitely make Evatideconsider extending her contract. Each one is in charge of a different element of Life, Thanatos being the most obvious God of death and deceased. Guess the others!
