It's dark... And lonely... 

I've been floating over this void for a long time, I cannot even remember exactly when or how did this happen

I remember that monster, an amalgamation of a multitude of Digimon... Even my partner has been absorbed... But by now, I don't even remember who my partner is, just that I... Wanted to avenge them

I wonder if the world has been destroyed... What would happen to it then? Did that monster also got destroyed along with it? 

No matter how much I tried to remember, tried to keep on replaying my memories... They eventually degraded within this dark infinite void... 

Ahh... I want to eat that bun again... What was it called?... Burger? Or is it Sandwich?... 

Floating... Floating... I just keep on floating on, as my mind is being eroded by the passage of time... 

Sometimes, I wonder how much longer will I have to float like this, I can't even move an inch of my fingers, unable to feel even an inch of my body

My mind becomes hazy as I'm falling asleep again... But the universe has another fate, as I spotted something appearing not so far away at my front

Huh..? Purple... Or is it blue? I forgot which color is which... 

A vortex of blue has made its appearance before me, I look at it mesmerized as it spins with mesmerizing patterns of lines (Magic circles) around it

Ah, I'm going to hit it... Not like I can change direction... Will I finally die this time? 

Floating towards it, I found myself getting closer and closer as many possibilities comes into whatever was left of my body

... I just wished that, if not death, then... Something nice... Like food... 

My vision finally reach the portal, and everything went white...

Falling down on my butt, I can feel the ground beneath me, a nice feeling that I've long forgotten, not to mention the nice smell of air... 

"It's a success!"

I heard a high pitch girl's voice along with the voice of the crowd, as my vision adjusted itself with the blinding light

My blurry eyes catch a glimpse of trees, bush, and stone buildings... ... I look around drowsily as a shadow appears to my right

"Hmm, it's not a magic beast I've seen before..."

A new voice, one that's filled with maturity said with some confusion in her voice

"Maybe it's a new kind?"

Reply the previous high pitch voice

"Hmm, that could be it, I'll do an appraisal first... =O God of Knowledge, grand your lost sheep the light to glimpse upon the darkness= [Appraisal]!"

A comfortable warmth fills me, as my vision finally finished adjusting itself

A school girl... And a witch?

The girl with brown natural hair wears a typical school outfit with purple, white, and pink as the theme with purple being more dominant, she also has a knight helmet visor on her head, without it being a helmet

The beautiful lady with black hair wears a purple robe adorned with white lines and a teacher-like outfit underneath, she lacks the iconic witch hat though

I look around to find myself being stared at by more students off to the side, I look at them and notice their colorful uniforms, each has its own theme color but with the same design, and some of them have a star or three on their outfit

The witch lady frowns a bit, seemingly in deep thought, seeing this, the girl asks her what's wrong

"Hmm? Oh, nothing's wrong, just that... This really is a new unknown species"

*Clapping* *Clapping* """ Congratulations!""" ""So cute~~"" ""Kyaaa! A snake!!!""

I move my head to the sound of the clapping, to find a crowd of students, I follow their line of sight to see a magic beast has been summoned, a small White colored snake could be seen looking around in confusion within a magic circle

So I'm a summon too?. . What am I thinking? Of course, I am! Ugh... My head... 

"Think it could become strong?"

"She's a girl miss, no magic beast like to be called an 'It' unless they're genderless"

"Ah! Sorry!"

"Say that to your new, cute, little friend, and to say that could she become strong? Maybe about C or B considering her cat-like look that stands on two legs, as for her element, it seems to be Energy type"

"I see, well that's ok, she's my Magical Beast after all"

The girl stretched her hand forward, looking at my reaction, seemingly relive by my curious fill face instead of anger, she then gently put her hand on my head, I feel comfortable being touched by her, even more now that a warm feeling start to fill my body, as I start to feel sleepy and refresh...

Ah... How long ago was it... The last time I feel like this... 

Accepting the warmth, it stopped flowing from her hand and stayed in my body, as I rubbed my head towards her hand, I could hear the girl giggling at my gesture

I... Wanted to stay like this just a bit longer... 

And the girl answered me by lifting me up and hugging me like I'm her teddy bear... I... Feel warm, and protected... 

"Now then young lady, what would you name your Summon?"

"... Name huh..."

I look up at her face and I feel her left-hand pat my head

"... Mei... Your name will be Mei"

"Meaarw~~...."

The witch lady pulls out a book as she looks at us with a warm smile

"Alright, Mei it is... There you go, alright, Miss Arisu, from now on you're officially a member of the Summoner class, and unlike other classes, you have to finish this one without backing out, of course, you could still do your Swordsman Class, and others, just remember that you will need the Summoner class's lesson if you wanted your summon to be strong and healthy, so make sure to never skip it unless it's an emergency "

I was then brought to the building near us, turn out it's a dorm building, I look around to see that it was a well-decorated dorm with red carpets around, and the walls are covered with clean light-colored wood, I was brought upstairs as I'm thinking, without me realizing, I'm already in Arisu's room

I was then placed on top of her bed, as she look at the clock and murmured

"Hmm, do I have any homework? Time... Still early... Hmm"

She began to search for her book and managed to quickly find them

As she's looking through the book, I took look around her room, it was a small room with a window that lead outside, cover with wood, dolls around, and a purple laptop, all in all, a typical small dorm room, I look at a long mirror stand, I move my sitting position closer to it so that I could see myself within it

My reflection, shock me quite a lot

I'm a Digimon!? Wait... Which one am I? I can't remember

I noticed that I was summoned, I thought I would be like that snake, but as a cat that can walk on two legs, never in my wildest dreams I would be summoned into another world as a Digimon

That time... Then it's not me meowing as a cat, but actually talking? But, can't I talk?

I then tried to speak some words out

"Meerrrew...."

I can't speak, Why? 

I look around, my eyes land on my right hand... And then I touch my hand with my left hand

Real... Real, meaty, meat... Is this the reason? Because I'm not digital? Or is it something else?... I... Hrrmp, don't know, I can't remember

"Alright! That's all"

Turning my head, I see Arisu putting back her books as she starts packing up stuff into a small pouch

Huh? When did she change her outfit? 

Arisu is now wearing an orange shirt with black jeans and a pink pouch slung over her shoulder with a sword hanging on her waist, she still has that Knight Visor on

"Mei, come here, let's go out for a walk and grab something to eat along the way"

A walk... Sound fun

I jump down from the bed and start running out of the room

"*Giggle* Hey! No running in the hallway!"

I stopped running and wait for Arisu, after she locked the room, she walk towards me, and then we started walking outside, passing the Dorm receptionist, the school gate, and into the street

I look around in wonder, medieval-looking building all around, shopkeepers cheerfully shouting to attract customers, food stalls everywhere... 

My eyes landed on a group of kids, looking at me like a predator

That glint... Haah... Just ignore them... Yep, ignore them if you don't want to be petted to oblivion

Arisu then buy a couple of skewered meat and give some to me, we found a bench and sit on it while eating the meat

It tastes delicious!... Then again I haven't eaten anything for who knows how long, so any food will taste delicious in comparison

"Meow~~"

"Merregh?"

I look down to find a cat... My kin

"Meow~"

I tilt my head at him as I wave my skewers a bit

"Mreow"

"Meow"

I decided to give it some meat, and it went at it right away, not caring about anyone trying to steal it

"Meow!"

Guess it's used to be given food like this

"*giggle* Have you made a new friend, Mei?"

"Mreow"

Giving some more to the cat, we left off after finishing, we then comes in front of a building with a sign that I cannot read, with a drawing of a Sword, staff, bow, and shield behind those three

"This is the adventure guild, we'll be taking some herb-collecting quest while we walk outside town, ok?"

"Meerow"

"Hehe, alright! Let's go"

We walk inside the adventure guild, many eyes fall upon us as the building is full of people of a different varieties, mage, knight, rouge, etc... 

We didn't walk towards the wood board filled with papers, rather, Arisu pull out her touch screen phone as she seem to be searching for the quest we sat down at a nearby table, and after founding the ones she wanted, she then walks towards the counter... With some difficulties

"Hey there missy, I think you'll need a party because your beast doesn't seem reliable *Snicker*"

"That's right! But of course, the payment cut needs to be equal"

In the face of these 4 weirdos, Arisu chooses the most obvious option

"No thanks"

That is a blunt front attack with a deadpan face

"Haah? What do you say? We're advising you to get yourself a team here! And we, are the most suitable for it"

"With that dirty mouth of yours, I don't think you should be giving advice let alone giving guidance, now excuse me"

I followed Arisu toward the counter as I eyed the gang behind

They give up? Then again, it's definitely not smart to cause trouble in here considering all these warriors around here... Maybe they'll cause us trouble later... 

We reach the counter and a retire-looking veteran greets us with a warm smile... Not that I could see considering the counter's heights

"Hello there young Lady, what could I help you with today?"

"I would like to accept these quests please, and here's my ID"

"Understood, please wait for a second"

After a few inspections and the sound of scribbling, I look up to see the veteran's muscular hand giving back Arisu-sama's phone and her ID

"These quests have now fallen unto your arm, make sure to clear them within the week and to always be careful in the wild"

"Ok, thank you!"

"You're welcome, please come back again safe and sound"

I followed Arisu-sama out of the building, walking on the street, I could see that we were heading outside the town with the gatehouse closing in on us

We walk forward as I noticed a stall selling some smoked fish and drool a bit, hearing my summoner giggle I turn around to see her warm smile

"How much is it for one fish?"

"Ah, just 10 Dollars little miss"

"I'll take two"

Arisu-sama then grab her money and give it to the man

Hmm, I don't know why I'm expecting metal coin instead of paper, but that's definitely paper money

Arisu-sama then presented me with both of them, I eye the two fish as my eyes dart between them and her

"*giggle* that's right! These are all yours, take them"

"Merrraaa~~~"

I then take them from her hand and start eating one of them

Delicious~~

Following Arisu-sama, we arrived at the gatehouse that separates the outside from the town

The walls are the typical thick medieval walls, with the gate having two doors, one is a metal bar that's been pulled up, another is the typical thick gate door

A guard looks at us and bows a bit before letting us pass, seems like Arisu-sama regularly leave the town for the guard to recognize her right away

As we leave the town, I look around the world in marvel, sure it's normal scenery to others, but for me, someone who spent a long time between high-rise buildings and in the void? It is a beautiful sight of grassland, a small smile reaches my face as I remember my home back then together with this scene

"Mreow..."

How wonderful would it be if there are more greenery like this back then

"Mei? C'mon! The herb isn't going to collect themselves"

I rush towards Arisu-sama, and I hug her with all my might

"Ack! Hey! Don't rush towards me suddenly like that! *Giggle*"

"Mreow!"

I then fall down and start walking beside her as the sun began to slowly set from its midway point

Ah... What will this new life of mine have in store for me? As long as it's not that void again... Everything else is fine...

And so, began my first day as a Digimon, in another world
